Something about the original Commissioned that just REALLY blesses me. It seems like back then they were REALLY singing about the Lord and REALLY giving praise. AWESOME THROWBACK!!!!
I'm with you bro. The ORIGINAL Commissioned line up CANNOT be touched. Bishop Mike Brooks handling production, Keys, Arranging and the BULK of the songwriting AND the Arrangements of the the other members songs. Keith, Mitchell and Karl on lead vocals. Mike Williams on Drums and Fred on Bass.. Naaaaahhh.. The lineup that came afterwards stood on the ORIGINAL six shoulders. I agree with you TOTALLY
@@TruSoulDj and as someone else who has every Commissioned album, I don't disagree that the later lineups did their thing, and my like of the original isn't a slight to the later lineups (because Irreplaceable Love is AN ALBUM). However, something about the cohesion of the original comes across better, to me.
The 'orginal' Commissioned created a unique sound that hasn't been duplicated since they went their separate ways! These fellas were just straight-up throwin-down!
they purposely went the opposite direction of the Winans....the Winans were a modern gospel quartet. Commissioned was a band.Everybody that seems them in concert knows they are nothing alike.
There very well might be some Winans influence. Consider that the Winans have been super popular. And Fred Hammond played bass for them before Commissioned. But the two groups have their own style and unique songs.
