I really like this concept. I always want my fragrances to project and last long, and I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for a concentration that guarantees just that. So many lovely fragrances (the Replica line for instance, or the new Le Labo Matcha fragrance) that still disappoint given the poor performance, especially when considering the price. Hope this is picked up by other fragrance houses.
I can’t help myself, but lots of people ask me what perfume I am wearing. I can’t imagine how they would react if I said I am wearing minus paper or bold milk!
i have milk expressive too and i just got a sample of paper personal. im hoping they arent too similar. Diptyque just came out with a new fragrance Leau eau papier thats suppose to smell similar to commodity paper so im trying paper first😉
Yass.. not too many people talk about Commodity, especially they were down for about a year. I had the first bottle in early 2014 and love Donna Ramanauskas, I have everything except moss. My favorite are Orris bed time scent, Wool for the Holidays, Tonka for comfort and Milk expressive every day use. Mimosa for Springtime. I am so glad that Commodity is back. And thank you for the review
I don’t know for sure, but I’ve tried all of the commodity fragrances and I feel like the bold versions ARE higher concentration. They last longer and seem to be a bolder, stronger, more robust scent.
Expressive ended up being my favorite for both Milk and Gold. Buying the discovery set with all 3 to decide was fun though! Bold to me was unisex but leaning more masculine. Really have to like woody scents for the bold versions.
I have been wanting to try Milk for a while. I should just purchase the discovery set while I’m thinking about it. It’s not expensive. Update: Exploration Kit purchased! I think the Expressive and Bold fragrances will be my favorite but I’m keeping my mind open.
commodity makes awesome fragrances, tonka was the one for me(smelled it from a friend). The new concept of them is so unique to me and i hope i can try them once more because they are not easy to find where iam from.
What a great idea! It’s sort of like when one orders a steak and the wait person asks you how you would like it : medium, rare or well done. It is also a good option for those of us who work in places who frown about perfume.
Sebastian your driving me nuts with all these new and great fragrances ... I love your channel .. I am enjoying Sundowner tonight with some Ombre Leather on the tops of my hands what a nice combo !!! These look interesting but I think I would like to try something else from Commodity , any recommendations ?? Whisky Maybe ?? Cheers and keep em coming .
Fantastic scent. All three types are great skin scents. Paper+ is great slightly sweet sandalwood. Great dry down. But performance is weak. Need spraying every few hours.
I love Commodity Perfumes! It seems like they are exploring new ways to market a product - Its really cool. I kind of think of it like Personal would be your "work" fragrance, a safe fragrance that would not offend anyone...Expressive would be weekend, family maybe date night...And Going out partying or to a concert, event etc. That would be BOLD! I can't wait to try some of these! Thank you for showcasing these - and for the discount! xox
My guess about the name change with whiskey is maybe it was done in reaction to an import law issue or perhaps to try to sell to a country where alcohol is frowned upon. Definitely plan on picking up that big sampler set.
Certainly interested why they chose to go with those asterisks in Whiskey. How would you respond if someone asked what you were wearing? "I'm wearing...ahhh....😕 W....5-star.....y. Whiskey...but 🤫"
I wonder if they actually are different concentrations or what. The "bold +" would have to be EDT tho, because the extra alcohol would cause greater protection. As in the case of sauvage edt vs parfum, same with the bleu de chanel line. Parfum concentration may last longer but doesn't project. But if that's the case, it's kinda shady to charge more for the edt bold collection than the potentially higher concentration expressive or personal. Seems more likely they're just same concentrations with modifications to the notes or ratio of notes. But if this is the case it doesn't justify the price difference btwn the options. Maybe it's a combination of the 2. Interesting idea anyway. I hope it works well for the house.
I love the original Gold and tried Gold Bold…HUUUGE mistake, it smelled absolutely terrible. Nothing at all like the original Gold…kind of like bad men’s cologne mixed with too much alcohol. I want to hope that Gold Expressive is like the original version, but after how much I hated Gold Bold, I’m scared to buy from the relaunched Commodity again…very sad. :(
