Had a misfire with my 2002 X5 3.0 M54. It threw 3 misfire codes. I changed all six coils and plugs. Ran good for about 30 miles then it started misfiring WORSE. The vehicle threw ten codes! I did go with cheaper plugs. It had the double platinum NGK, four electrode plugs and I replaced them with cheaper Autolite one electrode plugs. Do you think that the cheap plugs are my problem or should I look at the disa?

Hello Nate. I just bought a 1999 Bmw 328i. I am getting a misfire in cylinders 2,3,6. I checked the coils and swapped them and the problem does not follow. It also makes a ticking sound until its warmed up. What could cause this? Spark plugs and ground wires were just replaced as well.

I only get a misfire on Cyl 3 during high RPMs when I really push the car. Does that have to do with the spark plug gap? I have an e60 M5.

So I removed my coil but my car doesn’t make any difference in noise? Any reason why !

Try to get a polarized filter for a camera. Since you do a lot of outside videos it'll help greatly. Great job so far on everything.

In my case it was the wiring harness one of the wires were broken and was causing misfire in cylinder 4, I'm still not sure if I have to replace the wiring harness or just fix the wire.

hi Nathan's i have bmw 325i 2000 ihave cold star mis fire .I check no air leak but when i disconnect maf sensor the car work good and sens cold start misfire started i had problem with transmission not shifting good with out safe mode .

Hey I have a 2005 X5 with a m54 engine that idles rough with a p0302 code. I did a compression test and cylinder has the lowest compression.

Hey all, I have an issue with a bmw z3 M54 2.2i. It keeps coming up with bank lean codes and misfires. Both banks and single banks, random misfires, but diagnostic says cylinder 5 is troublesome. No obvious vac leaks anywhere... fault has been getting more frequent, although the car hasn’t run much in the last six months... any thoughts??? Thanks.

Just a thought, when doing the voice over thing take it a little bit slower with the video on each thing your showing, instead of moving between items so quickly. (It could just be that I'm too old to be able to keep up!) The video was very clear with the new camera... What is up with having a mouse nest in the motor??? Is that just a parts car? Yikes, what codes are set when a mouse nest starts to burn when the motor gets hot ?!?

I need your help folks? I got bought an abandoned 98’ e36 M3 S52 with two bad cylinders 1 and 2. I have replaced and switched around coils, spark plugs, and injectors... No changes. Only diagnostic test done so far is coil ignition test. And they are good. Symptoms found were moisture on tip of spark plugs 1,2... perhaps gas or coolant. Overheating... I believe bad Thermostat. Codes pulled are P0300, P0301, P0302. I tried unplugging coils 1,2 while engine is running and it did not change engines timing. I also notice a small hose that goes somewhere under the intake manifold is hanging around. There is moisture under oil cap every time I check, and lower radiator hose stays cool at operating temp. I plan to replace thermostat, search for vacuum leaks with smoke tester. I am thinking it is intake gasket leak, or valve cover leak, or vacuum. I’m hoping for responses or opinions and praying it’s not head gasket. Help......

I just replaced my valve cover gasket and got a check engine light when I went to turn it on p0313,p0174,p0102’p0171. Please help what can it be. Car was running absolutely fine before doing valve gasket

My e90 320d drives flawlessly most of the time, but on some ocassions when I'm pressing the gas to the middle point, it starts to make a slight BRR BRR - BRR BRR BRR- BRR BRR etc sound, until I take the foot of the gas and press again. Sometimes it just goes away, sometimes it stays a while. It's not making the car undriveable, but when that happens it jerks slighty, like it connects and disconnects the gass a little, not fully. Do you have any idea what this might be? My local BMW mechanic was unable to locate the issue, he was also unable to reproduce it, since it happens randomly..

Help.... I changed the spark plugs of bmw e90 320i the after the start but misfire. Swapped the coil plugs then after not starting but cranking..... While cranking the Rev counter moves a little bit

Will it make you cringe to know i was on factory plugs at 125k miles? Funny enough i could have left them in. Same with the fuel filter. Talk about lucky.

Hi Nathan, you are amazing. I'm having the fault code : Enging-DME Digital Motor Electronics MS43. It says Cylinder 2 and 4 misfire. However when I erased code, the engine is running perfectly. Do you think the problem got fixed when I erased the code?

Hi Nathan! i have a E39 523i M52, im having some problemthat car starts fine when cold but after driving a while if i stop it, it wont turn on until engine is cold again. i read the code and it showed a code for camshaft position sensor and i replaced it with OEM one but problem still exist. i notice after engine is warm starter cranks only for second and nothing happen. i replaced crankshaft sensor about a year ago with OEM one too.What do u think that is making warm start problem?Thanks

My 99' 323i almost ran out of gas and started running rough and I'm pretty sure it's misfiring it feels like it. Don't have a scanner at the moment so I can't prove it but any advice? Could there be air or debris in the fuel system?

hi. pls. help. 325 M54. always missfire cyl2. when cold. moved: sparkplugs, coils, had injectors cleaned and moved to other positions. have same compression values on all cylinders. - o2 sensor bank 1 - before cat. changed but it didnt help it from peding up and down values just are not stable like bank 2 before cat. (even when warmed up)... engine light comes up from now and than and complains on cylinder 2 missfire or the bank 1 bef. cat. sensor.

so checc this out. I'm having the same issue. I've tried the seafoam it worked but then the car cuts bacc off as if it lost compression again... I'm confused at this point. I'ma try what you have . I've changed camshaft sensors, crank shaft, fuel pump, spark plugs etc I had a reading that said that I had multiple misfires ... After I tried this fix . Should I try it again?

P0305 PO303 PO306 PO174 PO300 PO304 PO171 Rough Idle, clear the codes and comes back after about 20 minutes. I did take apart the intake hoses to fix a power stearing leak and now ever since the hoses have been loose and popping out and stalling out the car, so I endded up screwing them in place. no more stalling but I do keep getting these misfire codes. is this the issue you think? Sometimes I hear a whistle sound when accelerating. Idled at a red light or stop sign is always rough and first starting the engine it sounds like a whining grinding sound until it warms up and goes away. I cannot see any cracks or holes in the actual hoses other than the screw holes I made to hold the stupid things from slipping off.

I just subscribed to your channel. I recently started having problems & check engine light with my 7series Bmw N63. First one was Dmtl fuel pump leak. After driving for 2 days. I did a burnout fresh tires I got then after it went into limp mode & start to show drive train malfunction in the engine. I drove it for a little to park it and start smoking from the engine but the car wasn’t overheating. Put the computer on it the error codes were running a code saying running lean & all cylinders misfire. It starts back up without a issue but it goes back into limp mode & sometimes shut off on its own. However I noticed a air seeping sound from the engine when it’s being rev. Please can someone help me find out what could be the issue here

They changed the turbo and the whistling stopped. Shoulda walked away but ..... when I start the engine it vibrates and sounds like a train. I can even hear it inside the car and feel the vibration on the gear stick and clutch. Help please!!!

i have a 1993 325i all coil packs are good but number 3 misfire

Jeez you are a dead ringer for Travis Rice.... Already done coil packs and he basics. Runs fine higher end and at tick over but its hesitating from low revs if you try and put too much thru the throttle. If you keep pushing it throws it into limp mode with the CEL.

I'm running rich on banks 1 and 2 with the occasional pop-up of cylinder misfire on 2 or cylinder misfire on 5
