This is how helpful videos are supposed to be. Clearly spoken. Clear cut. To the point. Detail oriented. Etc. Very high props to these guys for doing it the RIGHT way. It's very much appreciated.
Thanks for a very helpful video. Just bought a Mack Anthem with a bunk heater and am having problems that you described. I will look at the filters and intakes to see if they are clogged or dirty and maybe solve the problem.
It's 2am in Montana and I'm trying to determine exactly why I'm going to freeze to death tonight. Really frustrating that it worked great this morning but gives up after 0.1 seconds now on an 18-degree night.
Great video....learned few things from it...thank you. I've Espar D2 bunk heater in my semi truck..Few days ago it was working fine than it would start up fine but after few hours it would not run...after few more days it would start up fine but shuts off after 4-5 minutes. Now it would not even start...What is causing this...help please....
Great video very helpful. So basically by the fuel line being so small it's actually a factory defect. The fuel is going to gel when it's actually cold enough to need the bunk heater. All of this stuff just made half ass. Add that to a company truck that won't idle and it sucks. Then you buy something for the truck for which they will reimburse you but they make it difficult for you to get the money back. Either way I guess I will try the anti-gel first.
Something to consider...All WEL tractors come with APU's, inverters, and bunk heaters. All of which are serviced regularly (or as needed) by mugs like Logan here. Let us know if you'd like any more info or if you have any ideas for future videos! Stay safe out there!
Well actually if it's that cold you should idle and the heat from the engine will prevent it ,and to honest with you I've never had one gel on me ,not saying it won't
My wabasto hade a 1 blink code( no ignition) I pulled the air intake pipe and exhaust pipe from bottom of unit still mounted in truck. I sprayed 1/2 can of carb cleaner in strong bursts into both holes until clean fluid drained. Waited an hour for it to evaporate and it worked. Blew white smoke for about 30 minutes but it cleared up and all is well.
Hello, the video you shared is very explanatory, I have some questions, how is a metering diesel fuel pump cataloged, by pulses per second, pulses per minute, I saw a diesel fuel metering pump and it says 22ml? Thank you
What if you push the on button and nothing happens? I got a brand new only used 20 hours so far and on day three it won’t work. Got an 03 code error and I replaced the glow plug and it’s still not working
Just fixed mine ,took the gliw pin out cleaned the air hole ,put it back together and it works for now ,will see later but its blowing hot hot air,and im telling u turning it on and off dosnt work ,i tried that first
My espar shuts off when I start the truck or put the ignition key to on position , how do I disable this function do I don't have to freeze for 30-40 min while the truck gets warm enough to produce heat ??? What wire needs to be cut ? 🤔
That little hole he showed. If its smoking out the tube and just wont get a flame started anymore after 5 start attempts. It's now completely clogged with carbon and wet fuel. A quick way to get it started so you don't freeze and hopefully the heater isn't tucked in a stupid spot (kenworth/volvo). Is completely power off the espar, pop the intake hose off, pop the cover, carefully slide the boot up the glow plug wires (the glow plug is expensive dont break the wires), take a large paper clip and put a small 90 degree bend at one end, use it and a flashlight to feel down the side of the plug chamber for that tiny hole and clean it out (side closest to the plastic body), slide the boot back over, pop cover on and it should light. Hopefully. If it does get somewhere for a new screens. Its only a temp fix. I believe after 2018 the hole is on top of the screen and the paperclip should poke right through. Pre 2018 its covered by the screen and will take some persistence digging the junk out. If it's not smoking out the exhaust when trying to start, then dont do this. Something else is wrong. Also dont keep trying and trying to get it to start. The control module will lock the unit and will need a diagnostic tool to unlock. I believe its 15 times after the last flame.
I got a brand new Mack… the heater works great until it decides to blow cold air… usually in the middle of my sleep… I then have to turn it off for a while and then restart it…
Any idea why mine won't control the temperature? It just keeps running and heating it will roast me, I have to keep the windows and vents open to keep from getting too hot.
Hey man, my bunk heater only stays on for a minute or so and would just shut off. When I have my lights and bunk heater running everything just shuts off
Cleared it all out last night use brake fluid and I did a good job my settings are on 35 so turned up full but again today my carbon monoxide was bleeping like mad any other suggestions welcome
Hey guys. I juts bought this cascadia and the espar heater acting super weird. I can only turn it on if I’ve one of the bunk lights on. No lights no heater the damn thing won’t even turn on. What do you think is going I can’t sleep with lights on.
Inside ,you don't want snow. water or salt spray all over it ,they are designed to be mounted inside the vehicle also being outside if it's to cold it might have a hard time to fire
@@welcompanies it could be either one. I’d like it to sound like a mouse though. I guess I should bring it to the shop? I’m new to trucking in case you can’t tell, haha.
The small plastic filter is the filter at fuel pump he showed. Don’t understand why is was shown with the combustion chamber. Show me how to install it at the location your referred. There for this is useless video thumbs down…
