I had the same problem with alarm on my 2006 mustang. I solved the problem. The hood sensor located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. it is a hood sensor of bad design. the contacts are exposed. to fix slide the connector out you will notice it is slightly corroded. clean off with contact cleaner, spray a little into the connector slot plug in and no more problem. at least that was the problem on my stang.
Mine had the same "two o' clock in the am" problem. Using a scanner I found the hood switch was bad. My cure was to just cut the wires and tuck them out of sight. If someone was trying to open the hood with the alarm set meant they were already in the car and if the alarm hadn't gone off by then......
I used the coverlay replacement panels. They are plastic but do have a textured surface . I kept the fabric on the doors for sound deadening purpose. Inserts will fit much better if fabric is removed. Only issue I have had is it slightly lifted in the front point area. Not really noticeable.
really ? I want to change my panel to red but overlay say is better with fabric on and that the panel are not designed for door without oem cover . I'll willl remove the door panel entirely so I can put some weight on them
I actually just pulled 2 black door panels out of a salvage yard to replace my gray ones (in the process of converting my gray interior to black) the leather on the driver side is absolutely perfect somehow, never seen the factory leather not peeling off before, if the passenger one was goodI would leave it but it's not so it's getting the plastic inserts
156k on my V6 07 s197 and the only real issue I have had is the thermostat housing. That did cost me like $350 one day. But aside from that. My panels are fine. I'm. Im happy i have the plastic door panels lol. And the paint is a little rough but not too rough I think they changed the interior paint/plastics. All things considered. Has held up super well. I'm about to replace ball joints and tie rods. And that's it.
hey so i got mine and the lights inside the car stay on even after the car is off and locked. i can see thru the window that those lights stay on and sometimes only the passenger side turns off
thank you,,,,, I have a 2008 bullitt rebuild to a nascar level power of 900 hp to rear wheels but have my fuel guage be very slow and will not show full! so I as you dont know why these guages wear out so quickly. I only have 10 thousand miles on this car
After looking around, as I understand it any glue you try on the panel inserts will eventually let go because of the fiber backing on the insert itself. I just bought an '07, and the dealer had the the plastic panels installed for me. While it's just more plastic to go with all the other plastic in the interior, it looks fine. Also, on the alarm I have nothing. But, maybe there is a seperate fuse for the alarm you could pull from the fuse box.
Definitely going down the plastic route to replace mine. Tired of looking at it lol. And I did discover the alarm was/is getting set off because of the hood latch sensor. It has slight play and tricks the PATS system into thinking it’s getting broke into - theft mode which activates the alarm.
09 here, unclog those plugs behind the engine on both sides often, and carefully remove and preserve your leather panels and temporarily replace with plastic ones
The door panel is a common problem. It's a piece of foam that is glued to the vinyl that falls apart from the heat and sun. I had a shop with commercial grade glue it back on. I have also used coverlay. They are good but doesn't fit as well as vinal. I did have drains clog and drain into my passenger side sadly. Cleaned those out and got the water underneath the carpet and on top. I have not had those other issues hopefully I won't.
just a tip for future people reading these comments: a good diy fix for the door panels is a pre molded, solid piece to replace the vinyl. they go for about $100 and usually come with silicone glue that holds up to 120°F Vegas heat.
Yes sir, there is a fuse box exactly where that water is leaking into the car at - I don't have that problem thankfully - but you better pay attention to that area
The door panels… my 09 has both inserts missing, I just took an interior brush, cleaned all the loose junk off it, made an improvement, still might remove all the glue, but once it’s not flaky and discolored it looks halfway decent
I use "wurth klebfix" super glue for my side inserts. Take your time apply push. Take some fabric push it into the void and compress it with a board and clamp it. Green painter tape to hold the edges in. Make sure you apply in optimum climate. Not to hot, cold, wet..works with old adhesive on it. Heat cycles and extreme cold cycles are brutal on the foam. Ford bought the vinyl with foam already attached. Then they glued to door panels at an assembly plant. Fords glu holds.. the vinyl manufacturer did not lol. Options are, to glue every 8 years, or to replace with leather at upholstery shop for about 2k
I used weldwood vinyl top adhesive. Its a contact cement so if you wait the prescribed time before rolling (yes with a sound deadener roller) the two materials together, it will not come off.... evar! To compete the job I simply tucked the edges in with the backside of a folding utility blade knife.
i have a 2010 GT premium, if i set the alarm with the windows down occasionally a fly will set it off .....im assuming they have the same security system ?
You may have the motion sensors on your dome light, if you have two spots on each side of the dome light housing that look like small speakers, you have motion sensors
Upholstery glue fixed my door panels. Perfectly without taking apart..... Just glue and duct tape..😮No other issues just alternator, cam sensor and one coil needed the 13 years I owned my 06...
I get that water leak I cleaned out the windshield gutter but I still get it , I’ll have to look into getting new black rubber panel thing from around the doors and roof of the car hopefully that fixes it
It's not just the cowl drains, check the AC drain too, I bought my car and the rubber grommets in the cowl were already removed for better drainage, mine ended up being the AC drain being clogged, dripped in the exact same spot
Im looking at a 2008 Mustang convertible with 100,000 for 12,000 Absolutely beautiful car and 🤔 of pulling the trigger on getting it. What do y'all think?
My ‘08 randomly pops the trunk release. Just driving along, check the instruments and I’ll have a “TRUNK AJAR” message and yes, it’s popped. Luckily the springs are weak so it doesn’t open up, just unlatches.
@@klb12393 it can get in thru the window seal and the drain plugs are just on the bottom of the door.. sometimes leaves or stems can get in there and clog the drain.. 2 minute job..
My 07 fuel gauge is jacked too.. When I start the car, it shows how much fuel i have... then it drops to E after about a minute. When it hits about 1/4 tank, it goes back to showing how much gas i have.... which is nice so I dont have to guess and I've never run out.
It's the smart fuse box .It's from the clog drain when it fills with water it comes in and fuse box gets wet it makes the car do all kinds crap alarm goes off for no reason, windows hose up and down about a inch or two days tweaks out all bad
I've replaced the stepper motors. mine is a base model gt so the door panels are hard plastic so no issue there. Just wait till you have to change spark plugs lol. 233k miles and still drive it like I stole it.
I'm so glad my mustang isn't the only one with an alarm sensor problem. It's linked to the sensitivity in the module behind the glove box. I tried to have my dealer turn it down when I bought the car but no luck. I just turn the key in the lock to lock the driver door and that doesn't alarm the system. 05 V6 fyi. It was so bad that a car driving down my street while the car was in the driveway would set it off.
Every single one of these 05 to 09 cars did that w the door cards....ford should have been forced to take every single car back and fix it w something that would solve the problem...thats the worst looking garbage
I just painted mine black like interior but my fan motor sounds like machine guns going off was few seconds now it’s got worse any idea to how fix that w-o taking whole dash apart
i bet the paint missing off your button came from a woman driving your car before you bought it haha ..... seriously, i had the same thing with mine and it hasnt worn any in the last 5 years cause i don't have rings or nails lol
