2012 c300, I also had the fuel line issue. Whenever I came back to it the cabin would reek of gas. Got my lines replaced at an independent Mercedes garage. The material was crumbling and it cost me about $190 for parts and labour
Which one do you have, a C300 or C250? Mine is a 2013 C250 with 104k miles. Bought it with 36k miles and I only had to replace the alternator and just regular maintenance of course. And for the subframe, mine is great. I did get a warranty for it but I don’t need it. It probably depends where you live such as a place where it snows. I’m here in cali so that probably explains why mine is in great condition.
If you had a m156 with that mileage, you'd be looking at a lot more than 600 pounds lol just 1 camshaft is £700, not to mention camshaft adjusters, lifters etc. Good video, you missed rusted break lines tho, that will need doing sooner or later due to poor material choice from factory.
You are best to get the wax or oil protection. Something like fluid film and give it a good coating because the rust will not only be confined to the rear subframe. Get the car on a ramp and get all the plastic covers off. Almost the whole underside is covered. You maybe shocked at what you reveal. Even the wheel arch liners are hiding all sorts of nastiness. Look out for brake pipes too. These rot in places where they cannot be seen by your mot tester. Same with the subframe. Mercedes have said they are going to continue replacing subframes on all cars under 20 years old. I haven't heard of any refusals of this warranty work. But no point replacing the subframe is there is nothing left to bolt it to!
#11 -- Seat belt buckle. The wire that provides the signal to the SRS controller when the seatbelt is latched breaks. The solution is to replace the buckle. Search RU-vid on how to replace the buckle. This was a problem with the W203, as well. The symptom is that the airbag light comes on. After replacing the buckle, you need a proper Mercedes scanner, such as the LAUNCH Creader Elite 2.0 BENZ, to clear the airbag code.
Cap 🧢 been had mines for 4 years and keeping up with maintenance and using oem parts, no issues at all, you probably have hella miles or got a lemon 🍋 but mines soild, even tuned by projectA and dropped on bc coils, even after throwing on after market headers, no Issues at all
I have the wheel speed sensor error, I checked with OBD and also with the secret menu, it's the rear right. I replaced it, and deleted the error code. The error comes back. I noticed if I drive very slow, (walking speed), all four sensors show a reading in the menu. Only after I speed up the rear right shows zero. Could it be the magnetic ring, on the hub? If it is, it seems like a big job, the part is cheap, not sure if I should attempt it myself. Any thoughts?
@paulthilwind8492 Sounds like the abs ring. If you never changed the brake discs it might take you a while. There's plenty youtube videos on how to do it though. Before you do that I would try to double check the ring. Get a q tip and put it in the wheel speed sensor area to clean from any dirt or grease. Then get a phone camera in there when you spin the hub and record if there's anything obvious you could see so you can have 100% that's it's abs ring. You will see if it's damaged. Good luck
I have the same issue as in the video but after I have changed the speed sensor and the front bearing the problem did not disapeear .Any help will be much apreciated.
Mercedes ,BMW, Audi, Volkswagen.. All using Very cheap parts ,So they know Will falling Sooner.. They reduce the New Buying Price from many years ago.. But rising the Maintenance Cost a very High Price..Parts and Labor.. Stay Way from Germany Cars.. By Japanese Cars…
