Wow 500 days and the sole shows no sign of wear. I've had mine for 6 months and already got major heel drag and the the grip patterns are starting to wear off. How often do you wear yours?
I wear them about 3-4 times a week. The heel drag is definitely a component of how you walk. Different people walk differently and on different surfaces for different periods at a time.
I have 2 pairs, the Achilles Low in white as seen here and another pair of Achilles Low in Navy Nubuck. I actually get people noticing the shoes-didn't think that would happen. I've worn the Navy version on trips to Tokyo, walked miles a day in them and by the end of the trip, they show absolutely no signs of wear. The Rubber sole is Navy as well as the upper, so scuffs and dirt never show up.
Well, I am kinda torn. I think the quality after so 500+ days I've had it speaks for itself; however, I honestly would NOT recommend anyone to buy this for the full asking price some retailers have it for ($400+). I would definitely get it again since all other alternatives just don't hold a candle to the quality and style CP has, but in terms of price, I would only get it if it were for a good price - maybe in the $250-350 range. Hope that helps!
Worth is a subjective thing, people pay for them for different reasons, arguably most not associated with what most would consider characteristics of traditional explanations of worth. Bought my first pair of "lux" trainers for $22(ridiculous sale). All the same quality materials and manufacturing of this brand. Do I feel better or worse about the shoes because I only paid $22? Undoubtedly psychologically I won't attribute the same meaning/value/worth to them as I would a more expensive pair due to they were easily attained, but were they "worth" $500 or $22? The answer, yes.
Gaylon Graham appreciate your love for these, but I must disagree wholeheartedly, these are simply not worth anything near $400. If you take the cost ex factory add an agents fee a healthy profit margin for the CP shareholders as well as the retailers 100% margin , you shouldn’t get to anywhere above $250. The rest of that price is just hype tax, there are plenty of alternatives in the $ 190 - $250 price bracket. That said get into custom hand crafted sneaker territory, $500 and up is a fair deal, consider the time and craft that goes into a pair. Just my 5 cents
They're a nice looking shoe. However they haven't worn any better than a pair of Adidas white trainers. I've had many pairs of white Adidas trainers over the last 35 years or so and the Common Projects are no better or worse quality wise. I have a pair of 9 year old Adidas Italia that are in the same condition as those. Admittedly I've hardly worn them in the past 3/4 years but before that they were my everyday trainers.
The crease for adidas/nike trainers are terrible. They crease easily and crack (showing inner leather) within 2 years. Common projects creases better and they don't crack. Post a video comparing both if you actually think they are the same. There is no way that adidas trainer and common projects creases and lasts the same.
The tongue & the branding on Adidas just kills it for me. Especially the branding. I'm trying to get a shoe, not turn into a living advertisement or commercial break.
@@goldengun9970 I’ve had a pair of CP for nearly three years. I’ve only ever worn them in summer and even then not very often. I don’t regret buying them however I wouldn’t buy them again. I don’t know if you’ve seen the Rose Anvil video on these or on the Crown Northampton. For an extra £50 I’d get the Crown veg tan trainers.
