Hey thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it. Yea there is a small group of us in the industry that’s for sure. Like in my 10 years of telecom I have only met 8 other top quality guys other then that it’s always a rats nest 😂😂

Rats nests and fiber or copper don't go together. Got into a fiber rats nest during my 34 years with a major telco company. We were only supposed to work a few fibers but ended up resplicing everything because nothing had been trayed in any order. We were only given midnight to 6am to work in those splices, but because it was such a mess we didn't finish until 9am. And I can't tell you the number of copper splice rats nests I had to straighten just to do 30 minutes of work.

Nice job building the case - two inputs that may help - first is when the drop fibers (blue tight buffered are routed in the tray, they were pushed to the left of the tray and routed CCW - there is a potential of a macrobend - need 50 mm or 2" diameter with the fiber. If you push to the right and go CW, the fibers will maintain a greater bend diameter - although it is only a 180, it may have impact. The second is just a training point - when stripping the fiber - either the 250 um or the 900 um, after the 250 um coating is stripped down to the bare glass and cleaned - put it directly into the splice machine - it should not lay on the table. For long term reliability, minimize the time the coating is removed from the glass and until that heat shrink is applied. A skillful job and clear that you take pride in your work.

Hey thanks for watching and commenting🙌 yes when I first started fiber I was very overwhelmed as well. There is a lot of different steps and scenarios with fiber but as long as you stay at it and keep learning eventually it will get very easy for you that I can promise🙌 thanks for watching lots more to come over the next year

What FOSC size would you recommend for breaking out a 432 ribbon? 96 splices at most per FOSC.
@fibersplicegod
@fibersplicegod Год назад
For 864f, 432f, 288f cables I always use a 450 D fosc. 864f will be 3 ribbon trays with 24 ribbon splices per tray. 432f still 3 trays just 12 ribbon splices per tray.

Have you started your own company yet or working for one? I was just curious on how hard it is to secure a maintenance or new build contracts for isp/ilec. Before start of covid I was contemplating starting one up, but finding the work was what made me not.
