Thanks Sanjeev, a useful video - could you do another explaining the consequences of trading when an account is not settled. Also, I have been using the app for several years and still don't fully understand the Depth page, the totals for buyers or units at the bottom don't equate with those in the columns ?

Very helpful video, best channel I seen explaining how commsec works 👍 I have a question, I’ve sometime tired purchasing stocks at market price during market hours as well but when going forward with the purchase it says the order can’t go through and I would have to change the order to limit price. Any clue why that’s happening? Thank you, love your content

Hi Shua - thank you for your feedback! That does seem weird that they're not letting you purchase at market price when the market is open. I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't work. I looked at the documentation on CommSec's page and there were no clues there either. www.commsec.com.au/support/frequently-asked-questions/21.html I think it's worth contacting CommSec directly to ask them why it's happening.

Hey love your video! I have a question I’m on the FLT (flight Center) and we’re it says Dividend yield and tax dividend yield there’s just two lines? What dose that mean? Will that pay you dividends? Thank you ☺️

Hi Kellie, I just checked and yes it's saying the same for me. It looks like they didn't pay any dividends in 2020. When I also read their recent reports it didn't mention anything about paying dividends anytime soon. I'd say the 2 lines means CommSec wasn't able to calculate a dividend yield because there haven't been any dividends recently.

Hi yes you can buy ETFs or individual shares through CommSec.

Hi Gia - oh! You can cancel orders by going to the "Manage Orders" section of trading. Also best to contact CommSec on 131519 to get direct support.

How do you withdraw money after selling shares?

Hi Jack, this is a bloody good question and not well covered. Once you sell shares it will take a few days for the funds to clear. Once it has, you go to your Netbank account associated with the CDIA account and you can transfer the money out from there. They've set it up so that you can transfer money out from the CommSec account. You have to actually do it through the Netbank account (either through the phone app or by logging into the account through your computer).

Hey, can you only buy shares if you spend over $500. I tried investing $100 and it won't let me. I've spent $500 on my first one like it said but I can't be doing that every time. Poor af.

Hi Mick, no when directly buying shares you have to spend a minimum of $500. Yeah there is no real way around it. You could look into something like CommSec Pocket www.commsec.com.au/products/pocket.html . That one lets you buy into the market at lower amounts. Your other option is to wait until you have more than $500 and then make another purchase. But please be aware of the transaction costs (brokerage) because the lower you spend you might end up spending a lot of money on transaction costs.

This made no sense, You can NOT buy shares without funds unless you have a margin account and even then you only get margin based off what's in your account (for example, I have 5× margin so if I have $1000 then I can fill an order for $5000)... You also mentioned the brokerage fees are being partially hidden by showing you an inflated share price😲 That's absolutely disgusting, They already make money on the spread (the difference between the market price and the price they pay) And they are not giving us an advantage with payment for order flow..... This platform is an absolute disgrace and there are more than 20 platforms that are far superior, Just another disgrace in the Australian financial sector.... But your video was good and I just suggest you review some other platforms
