"Never Can Say Goodbye" is a song written by Clifton Davis & was originally recorded by the Jackson 5 in 1971. It has been covered by many other artists such as Gloria Gaynor in 1974 & the British pop group The Communards in 1987.
Jimmy was a great voice but Rev. Richard Cole (he is a priest now) the guy with the glasses did all the musical arrangements for their hits and never gets enough credit.
Reverend Richard coles told a service that he does not want the credit for their songs. I know this as I was at the christmas eve service he gave when he told the congregation. That
@@jivebunny3765 he made the entire congregation laugh at the christmas service I went to at the village church he was vicar of. And every time I attended the village fete he used to open. You would hear him talking with locals and cracking jokes
I love Jimmy Somerville. He has an iconic voice! and I love their version of this song. It was a huge hit, along w "Don't Leave Me This Way", in the dance clubs back in my day. I danced my little a$$ off for sure! OMG I'm about to bounce my a$$ off this chair! Here I go, here I go. Blast off!
So great to sit and watch an old fashioned reaction from you. Hoping it stays up! I burned 1000s of calories to their cover of Don’t Leave Me This Way. Similar tempo to this song. Keep that great music alive! ✌️
Every iteration of this song is enjoyable. What a great song! Too bad you didn't load the original dance video, Jamal. You're missing out on all that 80's goodness.
The guy (in the picture) with the glasses who played piano/keyboard for the Communards is now a vicar. Another fantastic song from themn is 'Don't Leave Me This Way'.
Hi just watched ur reaction to this and just wanna say the singer Jimmy sommerville is Scottish like me 👌🏼👌🏼 u Should check out "DON'T LEAVE ME THIS WAY" 💃🏼💃🏼ull love it, ive been binge watching u for days, love ❤ur channel Big love from Dundee Scotland 🏴🏴🏴
For another 80's British pop group, see Ricky Gervais doing a Bowie style song as lead singer of the band Seona Dancing on either "Bitter Heart", or"More To Lose". Later on, Ricky had Bowie come on his series Extras and sing a song about Ricky being a "chubby little loser".
When artists want to take a last stand for their musical beliefs against the ovehelming power of the music industry. The Communards (French: [kɔmynaʁ]) were members and supporters of the short-lived 1871 Paris Commune formed in the wake of the French defeat in the Franco-Prussian War.
I actually never heard this version. I prefer the Jackson 5 version. The Jackson's don't own the rights to this song. They didn't write it. Take care ☮️
