This video gives a very brief overview of the differences between CB and GMRS, the radios I personally own, and the reasons I prefer GMRS over CB. There's a LOT to this radio stuff, and honestly , I was a bit overwhelmed when I started my research. So, I try to cover (what I feel) are the deciding factors. But, as stated in the video, take this info, do your OWN research and make an informed decision that best suits you and your needs.

CB is not in the UHF band, CB is in the HF band. 2 watts is the maximum output for FRS, not GMRS. GMRS allows up to 5 watts on channels 1-7, 1/2 a watt on channels 8-14(handheld units only have these channels), up to 50 watts on channels 15-22 and may use repeaters. You also would want an FCC Part 95E for GMRS.

Appreciate the correction! There's so much information on all this stuff and none of it is very clear for the uninformed. Some of it overlaps and changes, and honestly, I wish there was just an easier explanation. We're just looking for easy, reliable trail comms. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻

Awesome video!! The price did just drop to $35 in March. I am definitely looking to swap to GMRS. Definitely very helpful. I appreciate the info. Do you have a mount for your radio?
@ShockWaveOffroad
@ShockWaveOffroad 3 года назад
I'm using the same mount that I had for my CB. Works very well. It's made by Topsy Products, and I did a video on it. Can't post link here, but it's in my INSTALL playlist. Glad you liked the vid, bro!🤘🏻

I like this guy. “Opinions are like assholes, everybody’s got one” sucks that u have to basically put a disclaimer out there because there’s so many people just waiting for the opportunity to troll but it’s true everyone has their opinion they just need to learn when and how to share it lol

True that, buddy. Trolls everywhere. Sumbiches so bad ass that they gotta be a keyboard warrior, LOL! Glad you liked the vid. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻

Yeah bro, doesn't surprise me at all. Inexpensive and they work extremely well. (Tho, the combatants probably got them for free).
