Love me some SHINee.

If you see Taemin with say SuperM, or alone you would see how different he is alone, with SuperM and with SHINee. It's not like a diffferent personality but with SHINee he tends to let his guard down more, he is a different kinds of playful and relaxed. He is the youngest and he enjoys all the attention and care that his members shower him. as he said before SHINee and the members are like his home, his safe zone. The members also adore him a lot, and as they said even when Taemin has grown now, they still see him as the young kid they took care of before.

I love how open and honest SHINee are. From the beginning of their careers especially in variety shows you can see that if they do not like something, they won't pretend to. It's very admirable in an industry where idols are used to placating others instead of speaking up for themselves. Their honesty is probably one of the reasons they have lasted so long as a group.

Having been together for over 14 years, these guys have grown up together, and, more than any other group, have been through more heartache and hardships. I think all of that has bonded them as a family--they truly love each other and want to be together even when they're not working as Shinee (Minho has commented on this several times, especially during incidents where he has the chance to touch base with Key). They also are probably the most supportive group around. Minho goes way out of his way to show up for his members' solo efforts and projects as do the other guys. This video came out not long after Minho had been discharged from his military service, and you can see how easily and comfortably they just fall back together into their normal banter. Taemin seems particularly overjoyed to have the group back together. You really can't help but love these guys. Their fandom crosses so many generations, not only because of their insane talent, but because of how genuine they are.

Taemin was just overwhelmed to be around his brothers again after quite sometimes because they were in the military. So this was their first comeback as shinee again. He missed them loads. Shinee has always been his home where he feels most comfortable. Btw, behind all those cute baby smile of his…. He’s actually evil 😂 👿

i agree, shinee brains move very quickly, it would be hard to keep up if u weren't quick on your feet

Their confidence and banter is part of why they were "test bunnies" for the company whenever a new variety show came about. There's a lot of them on Weekly Idol, a show where the hosts tend to "pick on" on the guests a bit, where they are of the few who really fight back haha. They're so clearly more shy alone but as soon as they have a member by their side they're super protective of each other and passionate. Very that sibling thing of "I can pick on him, but you can't!". Also well spotted on seeking Onew's validation. You can see it in some more laid back vocal perfomances that after Taemin does his part he often looks to Onew or Onew is already looking at him with a thumbs up like Hey good job. :)

Taemin is hype here. He is reaaaaally happy that he is with his hyungs in this come back after almost 3 years. His happiness in this era will be in my mind forever

SHINee is the only group I know where everyone got masters degree. Despite debuting really young (14-18 y.o.), they never sacrificed their education.

Aside from the superb skills and talent, what got me deep into SHINee was actually that sense of rawness in them.. like sincere, genuine aura. They don't sugarcoat and their bond and dynamics doesnt feel forced. They fight and whatnot, they love and respect each other as brothers and as artists. As they said before, they are very honest with each other, and they tend to discuss differences in opinion openly, but also acknowledge and understand. Their bond grew stronger over the years.

Shinee is one of the oldest kpop groups that is still very much alive and kicking, and trendy (in fact, they started a lot of trends that we take for granted in the kpop community these days! Things like dance practice videos!) Taemin is the youngest in the group, and he was still promoting his solo works while all his big brothers from shinee were finishing their military enlistment. One by one they all returned, and this is the first comeback they had as a full group again. So despite the fact that Taemin is one of the senior-most kpop idols who is so respected, he still felt a little out of place without his members, so his energy in this video is a bit extra high because he's just excited to be with his brothers again! He loves the group dynamics and all the fun banter, and I think was quite lonely while he waited for his brothers to return.

Minho and key are a definitely interesting combination

The reason I stan SHINee is because the members are so kind, humble, funny, and talented. They have good personalities and a healthy lifestyle. They love each other and feel comfortable and safe with each other.

you are so right about seeing how the members want that "validation from Onew". Onew's leadership is one for the books.. The members joke with him and all but they respect and trust him a lot, as an older brother, and as their leader. And he is such a selfless leader and I think the members too feel more ease when they get that "validation" from him - like when they say something or belt a high note or make a mistake or whatever they always glance at him, and he'd always have that reassuring smile/nod.

I find that Onew is relatively quiet but he always listens and watch all of his members tho 😄 he even have this little habit of mirroring what his members do or say, like when Key is doing the bg/gg dance he would watch and quietly following along in the background, when his member is talking abt something he sometimes repeats what they’re saying as if to tell them “yes I am listening”

You're very right on saying that they are smart, sharp, and very intelligent people. On one program the translated caption described SHINee as a bunch of brainiacs 😂

interesting thing! jinki (onew) is the oldest but he's definitely the gentlest in terms of personality but the members have said that they get scared of him the most when he's angry (because he rarely gets angry.) they definitely treat jinki...like a princess, almost? like just sweet and fun without much of the sharper banter that the other members engage in. one thing i've noticed about onew is that he's pretty chill and calm but will do something bizarre that steals the whole show 😂

i think taemins comfort zone is definitely with shinee so he's automatically more energetic when it's just the whole of shinee together

They are not a group...they are a family. There's no pretending among them. That's legit.
