The communication process has elements that include the message, channel/medium, and feedback among others. Much successful communication takes place everyday without the feedback element. Commands and instructions are examples. When I buy a product with “some assembly require,” the instructions are one-way, yet effective and successful if I can get the product together and functioning. So it depends on what type of communication it is.
Context in communication refers to the way that communication is given meaning. It is essential to effective communication. Factors like the physical location and characteristics, the culture associated with the communicators, the relationships between communicators, and the expected behavior based on past behaviors can influence the context.
