I know he's a huge jerk, but a lot of Chevy Chase's lines in this show always hit me. The line about him testing people until they prove him right and push him away is scarily real.
People who haven't seen the show have no idea why in the last clip Abed is standing there with a bone saw and that he was about to cut off Jeff's arm. This show wonderfully blends absurdity with depth.
Abed's speech in the last episode punches me in the gut every damn time "it needs to be okay for it to get on a boat with Levar Burton and never come back"
Another good one: Abed - “ I can tell life from TV, Jeff. TV makes sense, it has structure, logic, rules, and likeable leading men. In life, we have this. We have you...”
Isn`t it a little ironic that it is in a TV show and he`s said like most of these quotes and thoughts which have helped the group in some ways though?@@curtisjones9372
“You are all better than you think you are, you’re just designed not to believe it when you hear it from yourself” hits HARD when ur going thru depression
"They should retire the table we did it on" *spits* "Table ?!" The thing about Community that always gets me is their mastery of comedic timing. This is a great example.
@@picardsolo2471 netflix and most other streaming sites removed the dnd episode entirely. All because chang's dark elf cosplay resembles blackface (which the show itself is critiquing)
a shame they didnt't include my absolute favorite line: "You can yell at me all you want, I've seen enough movies to know that popping the back of a raft makes it go faster!"
Another great one is on Troy's birthday when Annie pretends to Caroline Decker and she talks about herself in the third person and she goes, "She's got the next fifteen years of her life planned out and all she's gotta do now is follow it or screw it up. Give me a screwdriver. I got no place to be. Who am I? Annie?"
So amazing! I enjoyed the first one, but it was 80% Jeff speeches. You really got a lot of great moments from throughout the series, ending with one of my favorite Winger speeches ever.
Rewatching the law and order/lawyer!Annie scene made me realise for the first time how much like lawyer!Jeff she's acting. But with a pinch more investment bc Jeff was also full of bs but he didn't actually care most times
Pierce’s speech about coming to greendale for 12 years always kills me. It’s such a great moment and I tend to think of it a lot, especially being an outsider friend. Pierce does have his many flaws but he is still just a person, and no person deserves to be so isolated in life. He did grow up in a rough home and never felt real compassion from his family which tends to be why he test and pushes people away, because he’s afraid of being abandoned or hated or evidently he’s afraid that something as good as friends or love won’t ever last long so he tests them to see if they’ll leave until eventually they do. I don’t think a lot of people realize how similar they are to him
7:27 just makes me wish the networks never tried (and succeeded) to fuck the show from the moment of its inception. Its a show. It was so good. NBC didn't have to be such a tool (and tbh Dan Harmon didn't either).
@@adamkhan9514 bunch of shit. community spent basically every season unsure if the network would renew them for the next season, and they even got dropped by nbc after season 5 and moved to Yahoo for season 6. as for dan harmon, he left the show after season 3 bc of a sexual harassment allegation that happened with his staff of the show. then dan harmon came back for season 5 and 6, this is also why season 4 is considered the "gas leak year" bc it had a completely different showrunner and writer's room, so the vibe was completely different from the rest of the show
Chemistry and talent, on and off screen, was off the charts here. Community, Arrested Development, and the office and shows I binge every few years. They never fail to deliver. I love how Community has scenes going on in the background that play out over seasons, like Abed helping to give birth.
MY FAV MOMENT IS THAT ONE WHERE SHIRLEY SAYS SOMETHING RACIST AND JEFF SSYS PEIRCE WILL BEAT THAT AND THEN THE END OF THE SCENE IS JEFF SAYING “22 seconds”!!!
0:02 it’s funny, because technically Troy is right, since arched feet is one of the big evolutions humans got, along with a bigger brain, opposable thumbs, and capacity for language
I love Community but the more and more I realize how much every dramatic monologue just sounds like Dan Harmon regardless of who is talking. Ditto for Rick and Morty.
One of the clips I would like to nominate for this video (if there’s ever a future one) is the speech Frankie made to Abed after her introduction. Such good writing to discuss that trope
@@sabrina63he's not even the lead for most of the show, and while he's remembered for the Winger speeches, he doesn't get much recognition for his performance the rest of the time
