According to a lawsuit, the drugmakers behind Ozempic and Mounjaro, which are now being used as popular weight loss drugs, failed to adequately warn patients about the possible risk of severe stomach problems associated with their medications. NBC News' Dr. Natalie Azar reports.

Gastroparesis is a severe condition. This doctor seems to be downplaying the risk of the drug. Saying it can cause nausea & vomiting is not really being upfront about the real risks! They aren’t even mentioning the risk of severe gallbladder attacks and removal of the gallbladder. One report said the woman suing was taking it rather than insulin for her type two diabetes and she’d been on it for over a year. Another tidbit learned from trials is that the gastroparesis had not been reversible in the trials. Diabetics have been furious because people wanting to lose weight were causing shortages. Maybe they should be thankful they couldn’t get the drug!

I have not had any problems.... FIrst time it hit me I knew and was shocked how I could not eat another bite of my breakfast.. but after that I am fine.. I have lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks

Why is a diabetic medication being used for weight loss? This is ridiculous. It’s a medication for one purpose, it should be taken for that purpose. @@karrenpopovics2780 that doesn’t make it sound any better. It’s still wrong, and we’ll get to the point where medications and procedures that are working fine for those who it was purposed for, will either have to jump through hoops to get what they need, or these medications will be removed from the market because of their misuse and the lawsuits against them. It’s happened in the past. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it though.

Never use this drug. It placed me in hospital two times, and I have permanent injury to my digestive tract. I am a diabetic. Stopped using the medication 6 months back. The slower your digestion works, the slower good nutrients are absorb into your body, until you feel really bad, also the longer you are bound up the higher the risk in colon cancer. Kinda like a slow death. Don’t use my advice, it’s your body and your decision. This is only my experience with this drug. If you’re taking it for weight loss, it’s around 1,100 a month and that buys a great treadmill, or a supreme gym at your local y.m.c.a. That way you loose weight and you loose it in a way your not skinny, but flabby . Use caution because there’s only one you!!😊
