The best-selling Mazda vehicle jumped out in 2017 with a new design and better appeal. Every year the Mazda CX-5 is getting better. This video breaks down the differences between the 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring and the 2020 CX-5 Grand Touring. Both are excellent vehicles to purchase today, it really comes down to personal preferences of the updated features and styling.
The 2018 Mazda CX-5 GT has my favorite wheels. I love the contrast between the machined and painted look. The 2020 wheels look good, but I just like the dark accents on the older wheels.
The 2020 CX-5 definitely wins with Apple CarPlay and Android auto. The newer technology is fantastic and spoils you with convenience and safety.
The interior is for the most part the same. Probably more changes to come in the next few years.
G Vectoring Control Plus is new on the 2020 Model CX5. It has slight corrections and adjustments to acceleration and torque to independent wheels when coming in and out of a turn. The "plus" adds brake adjustments also. This is one of the greatest features that is hard to demonstrate.

I am looking for a low mileage 2018 because I think those wheels make the look perfect! Mazda doesn't seem to be jacking up the prices right now like so many others, at least not in Northern California

How about road noise and engine noise between those two? I heard 2020 had better noise cancelling than 3018

Thanks for the feedback. I recently added a mic and windscreen. It seems to work better unless the wind is really strong. I’m bothered by the wind also, and trying to find better alternatives

What models of the 2020 cx 5 have the active driver display? I plan on purchasing one this week but a major deal breaker would be not being able to view my speedometer digitally with numbers on the odometer instead of the latches in clockwise motion

Active driving display is standard on Signature, Grand Touring Reserve, and included with Grand Touring with GT Premium package.

@@JSS Also i forgot to mention can you also do a review of the my mazda app. Showing features like remote start locking and unlock and detecting the vehicle location. Reason i asked is because i saw alot of bad written consumer reviews about the app but im wanting to see it in action. Thanks again! I love your reviews. One of your videos answered my previous question about the active driving display

I’m torn between the 2019 Mazda CX-5 GTR and the 2020 Mazda CX-5 GT with GT package. Would love a comparison vid on these!

The CX5 Carbon Edition offers a Turbo, and the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature are standard with Turbo.

It usually say go for the newer model if possible. One question that may confirm for me. Does Touring have preferred package?

@@JSS something I forgot to mention the touring is black and black interior and the grand touring 2018 is white whit white interior and I check again the miles its 62,000 instead 79000 how I mentioned previously.

I don’t believe so because the actually key is cut differently. You may can program the key fob, but the key wouldn’t work.

Yes, off-road traction assist is new, but only on AWD models. I was just relating info on these specific vehicles which are both FWD. I’m sorry for not clarifying that.
