Thank you for the update! My lease on my 2023 CX-50 Preferred Plus comes up at the end of November 2025. First, I had been thinking about leasing a 2026 CX-50 Select. More recently I have thought about buying the CX-50 Select because Mazda quality and reliability, and once paid off I don't have to continue to make car payments for a while (only when I finally decide to replace it). Then I heard about the hybrid CX-50. At first I was "meh" about it, but if I were to buy it instead of leasing it I would have more years for the better fuel economy to pay for the higher price, and after that it's all savings. Since it's the Toyota hybrid system I have no worries about quality (my daughter drives a 2015 Prius C which has been very good). Meanwhile, I came across another RU-vid video (GearheadDrive) talking about the 2025 CX-5. This one is the next generation model with major exterior differences. While the source didn't confirm I believe that this is for the Asian/Australian/European market. It is also going to have a hybrid model, and like our CX-50 hybrid this new CX-5 will also use the Toyota hybrid system.
Toyota makes the best CVTs in the industry. They are pretty much bulletproof. They are not designed like Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru or Honda CVTs. The Toyota CVTs do not use belts internally like the other's
Great informative video. I like the manual shifting option but I think Mazda’s got the upshifting & downshifting direction backwards. To me moving the shifter forward would be the natural direction.
In canada here, got the top trim cx-50 but not the Meridian as it asks 6k more for tires and stickers....it's insulting our intelligence. I only have two wishes for this vehicle, the first would be an after market mods for a better approach angle front bumper and departure angle rear bumper. The second would be that the vehicle came equipped with an optional rear E-locker 😅.
If the cx-50 were priced the same as or cheaper than the cx-5, it would be a much easier buy. To get the cx-50 you have to be really won over by the aesthetic (which I do love) or the bit of extra room in the back with the seats up -- the tables actually turn in favor of the cx-5 when you fold the seats! I *want* to get a CX-50, but I can't justify the premium for something that actually has (surprisingly) less cargo volume with the seats folded, worse rear suspension, more cheap/plastic parts, less NVH reduction, and essentially just *looks cooler*.
The Mazda3 grille should've been used on the Mazda6 as far as there last year in the US.. I think i want to fit the Mazda3 grille to fit the Mazda6... Looks like it requires minimal modification to the bumper for my little project to work.
Color looks good. I'd like to see it in person still. And ever since Mazda started doing the painted cladding I've realized I prefer the black cladding. 🤷♂️ Oh, and I wish they would add ingot blue to the CX-70 as a standard color.
I was deciding between this and the polymetal.. went with the Polymetal after seeing in person. In certain lights this color looks great and is very earthy... but in others in looks more like rose gold which I hated.
I like the copper color but when I brought my cx70 the copper was 3 weeks out so I got the poly Grey with red interior. I like the red interior best but I seen some videos and it looks like the copper and red clashed maybe in person might be better
@@f1pro910 We can keep the shine indefinitely with a properly applied ceramic coating. Go to a professional or learn to apply it yourself. Don't let the dealer pressure you into letting them do it. I've not seen a dealer applied ceramic coating that held up for more than several months.
Mazda's improvements are being noticed. At my job, one person bought a new Mazda in 2017. Today there are 6 Mazda's in the parking lot. I bought my first Mazda a month ago due to all the other Mazda owners telling me how much they like theirs.
I bought two Mazda cars and was in two accidents. Luckily, I walked away unharmed, thanks to the safety features of my Mazda. I'm grateful for my life and the protection provided by my Mazda. I believe this is now my favorite brand. I recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and reliable car. Thank you.
