Agree with a previous video of the scratch guard becoming totally destroyed. I have this problem with both of my Pure Aeros.

This would have been a great opportunity to use the Pure Strike 98 as a reference point for the other ones, as the Pure Strike 98 is the most popular and easier to find 98-inch Babolat frame. Using it as the reference can give a very clear idea of what to expect from the other models.

I appreciate that you actually gave a specific recommendation. I have an older Aero Pro. Am thinking about getting the Pure Aero VS.

Really great review. It answers to my questions on these rackets. You mentioned that Babolat could consider to increase upper (or also lower) beam section to 23mm - just like Head did in Head 360+ Speed MP/Pro. Do you plan to review Head 360(+) Speed MP/Pro rackets? Dunlop CX200 is also interesting. We particularly used two Head Dunlop CX200 LS (290g) but they play completely different (weight/balance/weight distribution). The same time one junior player I know used it and its weight distribution was amazing...which makes me a bit crazy...

After demoing about 10 racquets, I switched from Pure Aero Tour to VS. I love the control, especially on second serves, slice, and drop shots. Volleys are quite nice as well. But you have to hit through the ball to get decent power and deptht. Head Extreme 98 and Prince Beast 98 played quite similarly, but overall I likes the PA VS better.

Is the old Pure Aero 2016VS good as well? What's the big difference between the New PRVS and the old one?

I had two Pure Strikes the 16/19 was weighing 332gms with strings it should have weighed around 323gms I had put a Head replacement grip and I worked out it weighed about 4/5 gms more than the original Babolat factory grip. I spoke to Babolat in UK they informed me they have a 7 gms tolerance for warranty purposes so my racquet was just inside that tolerance so they said I wouldn’t have a claim. One thing I said to them is that they could say any figure as a tolerance for warranty claims. Anyway I sold both my Purestrikes on Ebay making sure I said about the actual weight of the 16/19. The 18/20 weighed what it should have. Now thinking of getting Pure Aero 98 VS difficult to get hold of in UK for a decent price going at £195 plus £12 for stringing in local tennis shop. Not so sure seeing the lack of quality control from your swing weights and weight and my own experience. Thanks for the video

I had pavs was great/ then i tried vcore / ezone 98 not so comfortable for my arm and not better for spin. Now i got pdvs. Im ok. Much better for me than yonex

Thanks for your videos ! Everyone talks about how the pure drive is so powerful. I own a pure drive team and a pure storm gt and personally I find the older Storm to be far more powerful than the pure drive using a hybrid on both. Any chance you could do a power test video ? ie test some of the popular rackets with a speed gun

I tried Pure VS and I can't find something wrong with it except that it is rather overpriced to my opinion. Otherwise it is a very good racket for an intermediate player to my opinion. I used to play with Wilson Burn LS100 and switch to VS which seems to have much better control.

Hello, Can somebody help me?, i bought the Pure Drive(strung) online today, i asked the tennis shop to measure the specs for me, according to them all specs are pretty much spot on except an extra 6g of weight, they told me balance is 32.5 mm( 7 pts head light) yet when i balance the throat of the racket on my finger it is pretty much evenly balanced, so no towards the head nor the handle.., does this mean the stated 32mm balance is incorrect?.. , by the way the strings are Rmp blast 17g whit an Wilson sensation overgrip , would really appreciate your opinions!

Both are too similar now. Years ago it was never like that.

The QC is the biggest issue with any babolat. I have had several rackets recently (pairs and single) and the weight is so off. I had the PD VS pair and they were 303g, PA VS pair 301g and several pure strike vs pairs. 315g, 312g, 305g. Not one out of 5 pairs were the standard weight. I also had an aero that was 306g. My advice is dont buy a babolat without actually checking the specs in person as a 300g racket could actually be 307g or 293g because their QC is so poor!

Really wanted to like the VS but it is so hard to play compared to the regular PD. I don no why Babolat did the vs line. When I was young I played with Aero Pro Drive now I am very lost

In relation to the Pure Drive Vs Babolat really got it wrong. They should have just done what they done with the Pure Strike 98 Tour and and added 15grams to make it 315grams or even 20 grams to 320 grams like the Pure Strike 98 Tour. I’ve got the Pure Drive Tour 100 and would love the opportunity to play with a 98 version of the racket.

"tennis normal" = poor quality control ? when you have 2 samples , and both just happen to have big deviations ..its not "normal" am thinking twice about trying pure drive now ..

No way ZERO I will spend $250 for a racket ... I would wait for clearance when the new models come out.

The swing weights on these two racquets is too far off from what Babolat advertises. Horrible. IMO the swing weight is too light for the type of player that these frames are marketed towards. If I bought either of these and got that much of a SW variance, I'd be furious.

Message to Babolat: If you tell me I have to buy two to get one, I will buy none. And I hope you fired the marketing exec who signed off on that arrogant strategy.

Pure drive VS is a weird qaquet..unpredictable off the string bed. and just overall odd creation. If someone plays with babolat pure drive why would they gravitate to 98 inch more controlled version? get a pure strike for petes sake

not an accurate comparison. Take the plastic off the handles (2g) and string them the same or do it unstrung.

The problem with the VS frames is the Pure Strike is a better frame and easier on the arm.
