CaptainShack jumps back into Space Engineers and takes a look at some of the largest Clone Wars area Star Wars Venators. Lets compare command Ships of the Republic Fleet. Lets take a look!

Shack you should a multiplayer battle in the venator like a boarding party sneaking in through the bottom hanger and clone defenders fighting them off

Be cool if there's a providence also to scale who h you could battle with .... by which I mean origional battle front 2 style ... maybe have a warhead to plant on each other's ship a specific spots

shack. those forcefields that were set up behind the main gun turrets might be secondary weapon positions. similar to a old wooden ships broadside guns. stick singular laser or even turbo laser guns behind them with maybe the barrel sticking out and you would get that scene from episode 3 revenge of the sith when the providence trades broadside with the venator and you could see the republic and droid gunnery crews as their weapons were hit/firing. in other words, they are gun ports ( yes this is a copy paste of a comment I made, just felt like he should for sure see this)

I was thinking that. Have rebels steal it from the empire when it being delivered to be mothballed. (Can have it set as a station and a small garrison excuse then)

That wasn't the Republic Insignia, that was the Open Circle Fleet's (Anakin Skywalker's and Admiral Yularen's Fleet)

It’s not the mod, you just have to many physical objects, so the game stops rendering the hit boxs on the armor blocks. Just wanted to let you know.

There were at least two classes of venator used by the republic, a later class sacrificed hanger space for additional weapons and armour along its ventral hull. Also not every venator was part of the open circle fleet (denoted by the open circle logo) so didn't all have SPAAT lasers. Really awesome builds, the work in them is staggering, even if space engineers can't quite handle them :p

Winter Wolf501 Wasn’t the “variant” with the extra weapons an ancient Mandalorian Warship with 17 standard dual Turbolaser turrets, and a quad turret? Or are you referring to the one with the SPAAT turret?

@@flare9757 I dont believe so, I believe there was a variant later in the war which sacrificed hanger space for amour and a few more guns, a prelude to the ISD way of thinking. SPAATs really were only confined to the open circle fleet and were a bit of an of the cusp modification rather than standard. I think, old lore and new tends to get jumbled I'm my head

Winter Wolf501 I just looked through the Wookiepedia article on the Venator, and I did not see any mention of a Venator with extra weapons.

@@flare9757 "with the blast doors that previously lead to the main hangar space replaced with additional lighting, a crane and sometimes additional weaponry," it's in the canon section, under hangar space and "a newer type of venator" second picture in that section

The 2008 Clone Wars series model for the Venator is my personal favorite out of the few on-screen models we have seen so far. It manages to look bulky and powerful while having a really good width to length ratio visually. Naturally being backed up by plenty of awesome screentime it gets a proper showcase which also made it near heartbreaking when the last one we see in the series crashes😢

You could try to do a Battlefront 2 (the good one) style setup where you have a stationary Venator and Providence as the main capital ships to launch fighters, and mobile Acclamators and Munificents to make things more interesting. The capital ships being stationary also makes boarding a more feasible prospect - requiring the crews of each ship to actually defend themselves. The battle is over when one side's capital ship is declared nonfunctional (i.e. When all ship systems - shields, weapons, engines, etc - are destroyed).

@@Mark-uk8wz In the 2005 one, the capital ships (Venator and Providence) are static in every map. Some of the frigates are moving, but the majority of them are static as well. In the 2017 one, they do move.

Those ports under the bridge on both sides are firing ports as seen in episode 3

The "windows" at 21:00 are actually the side gun ports for clone artillery cannons, as seen in episode 3. These would be the smaller, single manned cannons opposed to the larger turbo lasers.

KDY's is an amazing Venator and seeing the scale of the side hangars in the main runway makes me think of all the scenes of mission briefings in clone wars. Now I want to see more of KDY's work.

the hangar on the smallest one has been seen like that on the liberty ( Aayla Secura's venator) in the clone wars episode jedi crash ,it was also on the venator not just in the ISD

Depending on how well it runs, you could make a scenario with the KDY Venator where CIS or Rebel forces have to board and capture the ship (an engineer class of players could have the ability to build internal defenses).

The 4 windows on the side are actually made for cannons when doing broadside battles. thats why there are connector junctions there @20:49

Love your videos. My friend and I are actually modding an old SWTOR Thranta to be our main ship in survival -- I wish there were more KOTOR/SWTOR ships available, but it's always really, really impressive to see people doing builds like this.

I have a Venator that I've been working on every now and then. It's larger than Sauron's but smaller than the full sized ones. It's no where near completion, but most of the exterior is done. On the workshop its just called "Star Wars Venator (WIP)", Steam name Lugubrious Orifice.

Yeah I played a Star Wars video game on PSP when i was younger there was a republic station where you land your starfighter and it was quite large and took ages to walk up to the computer console to fire weapons on the station.

Ok. Now I want to build one of the ships that is only named as “Mandalorian Warship”, in lore the very first wedge shaped warship and basically a Venator turned into a battleship. It has 16 dual Turbolaser turrets to the Venators 10, as well as a Quad Turbolaser turret. I might make mine with 12 dual Turbolasers and 4 Heavy Turbolasers. Let me know if I should give it a shot.

I belive you have the base venator and then you have the jedi class venator which is slightlighy larger and has a grey tone to the hull..I could be wrong tho.

Hey Shack, in your sunday series why not build a venator command ship? Use it as one big mining ship, has more than enough room for mining ships, storage etc..., this model even has refineries already. The main hangar is big enough to build ships inside in relative safety and if you build this big, reavers would have troubles taking it on, plus if you guys did get chased away by enemies you have all your stuff on board and wouldn't need to completely rebuild. Be awesome to see!

If you can get a similarly sized CIS ship, wonder if you could recreate a Star Wars Battlefront II map, using the two big ones as stations... Maybe have the frigates as flyable ships rather than stationary...

6:14 it probably looks smaller because it is much lower than the other one. Put them on the same horizontal plane and then compare the sizes.

The reason you are falling through the blocks might also be because there is too many blocks in the world SE does it to reduce lag and it happens in fully vanilla worlds aswell

Ahh, the Venator. The best ship ever designed to look like a Gungan's head. Check out this Nebulon-B I built in Space Engineers! steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1759659094 It's very close to 1:1 scale at just about 300M in length.

Space engineers code isn't able to render the blocks as obstacles because of the seer size of these ships.

Hey Shack, here’s my idea for a boarding battle. You could install that Hyperdrive Explosion mod, put them in the engine and reactor rooms, and rig them to the bridge to blow them up. First, the boarding team must start on the right hanger. Then they must make their way to the observation room, where they must “disable” the weapons and open the main hanger doors. Then, once some sort of transport has landed, they must make they’re way to either of the bridges and blow the ship up. BTW, both teams cannot respawn during the final faze..

You and Tex should build a smaller version of the Venator more like a small frigate that can fit your miner, Tex's tri wing Ywing conversion and your z95 head hunter if that's something your interested in
