This is probably the first portfolio video that didn't make me panic. I actually feel inspired and want to start sketching. I really like the "if you only look at me with a virgin eye”, very creative
this is the first portfolio video I've seen that i reallyyyy related with and made me feel inspired to keep building my portfolio. Like your transparency is fr so refreshing. Sometimes youtube portfolio vids make me feel like schools expect you to be a professional artist which is super intimidating but i just remind myself that at the end of the day youre going there to learn, and seeing your improvement from going to art school makes me feel so excited to learn:)
One tip i would love to give is that Always put your best work first that will make a great impression and gives a high chances of you getting selected! My art teacher told me that! I hope it helps for y'all too! Btw i loved your tips thank you :)
I tried to get into an art uni but I got rejected, now I’m watching all of these videos about portfolio tips and it gives me so much anxiety, idk why lol congrats tho, u are amazing💖
I love this video!! Ive been putting together my portfolio and have been struggling to find peices that I like. This video is so chill and has done really great tips! Thanks!
Reinvent a piece?! Wowie I have never thought of that. Its basically like repolishing an artwork so thats so cool! Thank youuuuu for thus video. I'm currently stressed on the portfolio review and my god I feel like I'll probably faint from stress
I love to see this improvement it’s motivating because it shows not only that you improved but that we can all improve. Also can I just say I actually thought you were gonna go off with a Grammarly sponsor and was like OH NO then you didn’t which was funnier 😹😂🤣🙃
Wait what? Draw everyday? Who even hired the people to look at art portfolios? I think it’s important to schedule when you want to paint, draw or do digital art instead of drawing everyday. Because time management is a big deal. I never work before so it’s new to me. I learned you need a planner or system to time manage. Although for art purposes the people who were hired to look at portfolios need to rethink how they see art portfolios. Just one thing is they can’t expect students to draw everyday. Because we have priorities and have a life not as artists yet as humans. So what we artists can do is time manage when we want to draw, paint, or do digital art. The purpose of time management is because when you work some day artists, and non- artists need to have a system for time management. Otherwise you’ll be late to work and unprepared.
Honestly I think drawing every day is really solid advice I've heard from a lot of other people, especially if you're really wanting to improve in a short span of time like he needed to. Even if you're just sketching or doodling for a few minutes. If you're planning on art school that's something you will absolutely have to get used to.
This was fucking great! You are mega-brain hilarious. Art-potfolio making is like B.a.n.a.n.a.s. Pursuing art is like, "Oh so you wanna be an artist good luck with that." "Oh wait you'r an artist can you sell that, and will you even make a living." "Don't artist only make money when they're dead, Can you make me something I can have when your dead... Don't forget your signature." I am Soooo tired of hearing that stuff! Your video was encouraging, funny and legit AF. You eased my stress about considering art school. I also hate figurative drawings. I am a preferred mixed media abstract artist/painter. Don't hate me animators cause like my sister just finished animation school but please I can not even with that peopley drawing stuff. Movie's/Anime's great but, what about the rest of us artist... Yea, I can not even explain how much I appreciated this video. I have subscribed period. Don't worry boo cause this was Super five star helpful. Last thing would be questions for the "hat flipper". 1) Do you have any ideas on what website thing you can use for making an online portfolio? 2)Whats your recommendations for downsizing and categorizing your art spanned overtime? 3)Do you have advice on marketing like how you made such a good youtube video? 4) Might you have any ideas on the best way to keep my immense art piles from dusty crusty damage in boxes? 5) How did you figure out the best lighting/angles of your artwork to submit for the portfoilio?
This is really helpful I’m curious to know what isn’t accepted and is accepted. I have an idea what to include in my portfolio I’ll include my best, and some figure drawing sketches.
Dude, I'm a senior, you're fine. Just practice hands, feet, figures, faces, animals, landscapes, different mediums, watch videos on youtube or sign up for classes if you have the money. Just do your best and draw everyday. You have time.
okay my deadline is end of this month and i start to think that i have to do everything anew, so wish me luck lol. but i will try my best! backwards cap slays btw
hi! i was wondering whether every piece made has to have some kind of meaning/story behind it? i wanted to create these graphic design movie posters cuz i thought that would be a cool idea but also to demonstrate my knowledge in adobe illustrator/photoshop and that i can redesign things, but now im not so sure.
