Great comparison, thanks a bunch. I will say when I read the warranty details I found the differences between the Roque and Prestige are really not that much. The Prestige lifetime warranty does not cover everything, it's really just things you would not expect to fail like stainless hood, cast aluminum parts and stainless burners. The Roque has 15 on everything so it's pretty similar. The Prestige bumper to bumper lifetime warranty is kind of misleading IMHO
Very nicely done! One thing I would add in favor of the Prestige is that it includes a wind barrier. It’s that long metal piece that sits on the hood insert. If a grill lives in a high-wind area, and especially if the back of the grill faces the wind, you’ll get your knobs melted without it.
Great video.Thanks. My local Ontario Canada Napolean dealer, who doesn’t sell the Rogue models, told me that Rogues are made in China, and Prestige are made in Ontario Canada. Might not be important to some but it is to me. If you’re not Canadian, they’re both imports I guess. Lol.
You forget to mention that the Prestige is completely made in North America instead of the Rogue that mostly made in China. Also, Prestige gives 80,000 BTU instead on 76,500 for the Rogue. For about 150 box more, you can buy the Prestige with a lifetime warranty.
Love watching all your videos, very informative and educational on the products. I just want to know do the napoleons ever go on sale or have a discount on them I'm really hoping on getting the prestige pro I'm wishing on getting one but hope they're be a Christmas miracle on them to go on sale. Thanks again for all your informative videos..
In Finland (spring -21) cheapest Prestige (500) is about double the price of SE 425. After watching your awesome videos I ordered SE 425 over Weber Genesis II, which is at same price point if it has enclosed pedestal (which costs hundreds more over open cart model). Cant wait to get my first Napoleon and try out that Sizzle zone!
@@kontaa It's great, not a single problem with it and it still looks like new. Buy that Napoleon cover for it, bit pricey but so easy to use and durable.
@@RaSmotiva just ordered an SE 525 WITH cover for $999 USD, but have been wondering if the prestige 500 was worth it for $500 USD more, but seems like it’s not! That cover is another $110 USD, so the Rogue is over $600 less. I appreciate your feedback - I will keep the forthcoming rogue!
Hi Trevor, tks for your videos, I am convinced on a napoleon after being a long time weber guy. I live in Spain, and different from Denver, here the se 525 goes for 1.6 k euro compared to 2.1 k for the prestige 500. I saw them last weekend and while the prestige had few more bells and whistles, feels like the rogue is the best choice given the wide price tag difference. Not sure why it is more expensive over there ane cheaper here though...
Hot tip: you can buy replacement burner knobs for the prestige and put them on your rogue so that you have LED blue/red knobs. lol. Napoleon is being silly with its customers. 🙃
I like the side walls and base of the rogue’s. Id have gone with prestige had they made the walls and base a little nicer. Also, you can get an upgrade kit for the white LED’s so they become red n blue. i think it was about $120.
So in Denmark, the Napoleon Prestige 500 (not Pro) is $2464.- and the Rogue 525 SE is $1369.- .... so that's a _huge_ difference over here.Personally I like the interior (aesthetics) of the Rogue better, but do I think the control panel of the Prestige just kicks ass. I like that the knobs are lighted on my Rogue, but I'd love them to turn red when the burners are on. Also, the extra vertical real estate you have on the Presitge is worth having... but I'm not sure it's worth the extra amount of money you have to throw after it.
I haven't found a concrete answer to this but it's my understanding that the rogue is made in China vs. the prestige that is made in Canada. Can you confirm this?
Is confirmed. Can't believe this isn't mentioned. HUGE points to the Prestige. Also, the Prestige's firebox is DUAL walled (making for better heat retention, especially in Canadian winter!), whereas Rogue SE is single walled.
Trevor, love you content, thanks for the continued education QQ- a Rogue® XT 625 Gas Grill #1422190 just went to clearance at Lowes for $719 (was $1199). I was set on the Prestige 500 but felt as though I could not pass up a sale like this and pulled the trigger. Let me know if you agree. As a thank you to you, I will be ordering some accessories from your store. Appreciate the help
Rogue se 425 or prestige 500 with rôtisserie kit ? Rogue se in promotion for 1299$canadien or prestige 500 for 1899? Is it worth 600$ dollars more in total experience grilling? I will use the rotisserie kit maybe 4 or 5 times a year…..
I've read that only the Prestige and Prestige Pro models are made in Canada. Every other line is made in China. This is obviously a huge difference. Can you confirm this?
thanks for the info, im in the market for a new grill and while doing the research on all the competition it seems like most other brands dont even really come close to the napoleon grills interms of features and value for the price. i do have 1 question though, are you able to remove the grill head and install it into a built in countertop? Iam in the process of building an outdoor kitchen so i would use the grill cart at first but later on i would like to build it into my kitchen.
Hello! I'm not sure if you could take the head off a cart model and install it into an outdoor kitchen. Napoleon might have a conversion kit yoou can order. Bought the Rogue 625SE for two reasons. #1 I need more cooking space (39 burgers vs. 31). #2 big box store gave 10% off. Hopefully, it will last as long as the Prestige. How do the tubs compare? Same construction? Hope the extra capacity justifies somewhat lesser design features.
Nice comparison of the two models. Just curious though, do you have to put a battery in every knob for the light and if so, what kind of batteries do they take? Does the IR igniter also need a battery?
Something that I read but wasn’t mentioned here is that Rogue (and LEX) are manufactured in China while Prestige is manufactured in Canada. Is that true and make any difference in quality?
Embers Fireplaces & Outdoor Living thanks. How would you compare LEX to these models? I have seen that the features are similar to prestige but at a lower price like Rogue.
Here’s a UK based big thank you for an impressive and well considered review process for three bbqs that we are looking to buy. Which one we will actually go for remains to be decided BUT we shall be assisted in making a final decision, so, thanks guys. A final OUCH from here in the UK is the enormous price differentials. Bests, Alan & Jen Elderfield.
Hey Trevor, I keep re-watching your vids while I try and make a decision on a gasser. In this vid, I do like the Rogue because of the extra grill space, but am concerned about the grill grate thickness. Do you know the Rogue’s grate thickness? What is the Prestige grate thickness? Thanks again for the great content.
@@embersliving I am wondering about the difference in grill grate thickness between the 2 models in your video. The Prestige P500RSIB and the Rogue SE625 RSIB. Thanks.
Doesn’t the lid on the rogue extend further back behind the grille whereas the prestige lid doesn’t really protrude? So the prestige could sit closer to a wall and still open while the rogue would have to sit further away to open?
Thank you so much for your amazing videos. I am hesitating between those two grill... but here in Europe, the P500 can hardly be found under 2100 EUR while the Rogue SE525 (rotisserie kit included) can be found for cca 1600 eur. If i understand well your summary, in US market there is no hesitation and one should buy the Prestige, but here in Europe, there is not enough significant upgrade to justify to pay 30% more to get the P500 (red light, thicker crate, few inches more and sophisticated construction)..what do you think?
Being in Sweden confirming same difference in price why I'm too leaning towards the Rogue. Btw great vids and good comparisons. Was going for a W Genesis but have become a Napoleon fan, love the sizzle burner.
@@joakimbjorkman1784 Same path here, i have ordered the Rogue SE525 with rotisserie kit, i will receive it tomorrow and looking forward so much to try this sizzle burner :-). I would probably purchased something else if i would not watched the videos from this channel!
@@emericlille7540 I'll probably carbon copy that order, also keen on the charcoal tray and the box for wood chips to get some smoke. Wish you all the best with your purchase I'm envious, also like to have it now :)!
@@joakimbjorkman1784 did you get yours already ? i already grilled burgers and T-Bone on the IR burners and OMG the taste is close to the city center steak house to me! Also did few chickens on the Rotisserie and it was excellent as well. Again a big thanks to EmbersFOL for all the advices especially for advising the IR burner wich makes such a huge difference !
12:36. I just got a Black Rogue XT 525 SIB. Still waiting for arrival. Every store that sells Napoleon had been on back order for months. And I got one of the last ones available. That version in particular is Selling like hot cakes.
Wondering if anyone can answer this for me...I FINALLY found a Prestige 665 (P665RSIBPCH). I live in NYC/NJ and nobody has them stocked. Didn’t want to wait for shipping. The only color option they had is the one in the video, the charcoal. Is there a difference in quality/durability between the painted steel charcoal and the stainless steel? I’m a little concerned about that.
I have a Char Broil that is 12 years old with the painted steel hood, and it still looks brand new. The SS on the other hand, probably cheaper grade that any Napoleon, had all these little rust spots where the impurities are, rusted year 1.
I'm considering a Rogue xt425 in Matte black. Its on clearance sale at Lowes right now for $479. But they also have a stainless xt525 which is $799. Do you think the added cost is worth it to get stainless over the Matte black? As far as size goes.. both the xt425 and xt525 are adequate for my needs. Thx for the videos.
@Embers Fireplaces & Outdoor Living Thanks for the top vid! What would you do? Rogue SE 625 RSIB vs LEX730 with internal Sizzle zone and higher placed ceramic rear IR burner?
Comparing the 5 burner Prestige V Rogue, Rogue is much cheaper. 4 burner Prestige V Rogue, Rogue is much cheaper. The only time Prestige V Rogue is the similar price is 4 burner Prestige vs 5 burner Rogue. Went with the Rouge because of price, and I don't care about the rotisserie.
Quick question: are the side burner grates on the Prestige and the Rogue SE identical? Would love to upgrade the Rogue SE 625 sideburner to a stainless steel grate but I'm not sure whether the grate upgrade kit for the Prestige will fit..
black Rogue XT SIB’s are on backorder at almost any store, including most reputable online stores. Prestige is not, even though prices are almost the same
Awesome video! I have one question only. In Sweden (my location) Rogue 525 SE is sold to a price of approx. 2000 USD while the Prestige Pro 500-3 is sold for approx. 2700 USD. Even if aware that Prestige is the better product I can't justify those 700 USD price difference. My question would be, what to choose with that in mind ? 😁
Hi, I can't figure whether to choose the Rogue series og LEX. I can't find much ressource with a comparison between the two. Do you plan on making a video about this topic? By the way, now I can't choose between Rogue, LEX and Prestige :D
Legend vs Rogue is there a difference? Is the Legend sold only in Canada and what is it's states side counterpart? I am trying to figure out which to purchase here in Canada.
Greetings from Germany :-) In Germany the Rogue 525 SE costs about 1.499€ and the Prestige 500 is about 2.199€.. so the Prestige is more expensive than the Rogue SE.. If you take the Rogue 625 SE - it's about 1.999€ .. i am curently thinking if i should go for Rogue 625 SE for 1.999€ or Prestige 500 for 2.199€ .. the Prestige has the rotisserie included and much more height between the waves and the rotisserie... and also the nice glowing buttons.. what do you think about that? What is your recommendation? Or go for the Rogue SE because it has more space?
Da musst du nicht lange überlegen. Der Prestige ist besser. Vor alle die 9mm Edelstahlstäbe machen viel aus. Ich habe jetzt so wieso auf Guss umgerüstet.
I live in Ontario, Canada. A friend and I always assumed Napoleon Barbecues were manufactured at a plant near Barrie, Ontario. WRONG! He bought a new Napoleon Barbecue and, as he was tearing open the carton, there was a label that said Engineered In Canada, Made In China! What the f*%k? Isn't ANYTHING mad in North America any more?
Guys what is a LEX 605 (like a rogue?) and is it any good? The Lex range is the only Nepolean grill available here in Australia. What is the equivalent in the current US range. The black hood Lex 605 is on sale for US $1100 in Aus currently (was $1445) what is the equivalent Weber model and which would you buy? Thanks Guys.
Hey Trevor, I actually work for the Napoleon head office here in Barrie Ontario Canada where these grills (or the Prestige models, anyway) are made... I'll let you all in on a little secret: NO ONE knows why the Rogue SE 525 (which is the same size/functionality as the Prestige 500 RSIB) is more expensive. It's a massive conspiracy - I'm talking Epstein/Clinton levels of intrigue here. People disappear when they ask these kinds of questions. So anyway thanks for addressing the topic, but after watching the whole video I have to say I'm not sure you did actually answer the question (though maybe that's a good thing).
There is a lot of talk about aesthetics and not a whole lot about performance. Looks do matter, but I rather see an ugly grill that works well than a good one that doesn't.
ok, what the f is wrong with your hair?! But great review. Still I buzzed my own hair cause of corv 19 but even with a mirror I did a better job with like plenty of liquids and you know which liquids I mean !!
