All my baking is done in my only oven, a roughly 1.3 cu.ft. countertop combination microwave that's probably approaching 20 years of age. It's got four Quartz heaters (two for broiling, two for Euro convention), a calrod below the turntable and even a rotisserie. Of course, over here it runs off of mains power and can draw 3.1 kW. I wouldn't attempt a Thanks Giving turkey in it - but everything else work just fine. Also, if you ever find the time, I'd love a tour of this fever dream of showroom that you have. 😍
People over here are obsessed with the size of their ovens. 🤷🏻♂️ DM me if you’re ever in the Washington DC area and would like a tour of my showroom. 😉
I have a Miele dishwasher from 2005. Still working perfectly. Can't say the same for my KitchenAid convection/microwave. I'm sold on the Miele H7870 BMX in grey glass. But I've got a couple of questions. One is installation. The product info on the Miele site list the min AND max width of the speed oven at 28 and 5/8" under "technical information". But if you download the "Instructions and Installation" pdf from that same page, on page #103 it shows the cutout to be 28 1/2"; which is the cutout I have. I need to know in advance if I need to a bigger cutout and a call to Miele.usa was not helpful "we don't do installs; call this vendor". I called and no one answered over a couple of different days. My only other question has to do with reliability and service (I'll by the Miele extra warranty). As I'm far away from D.C. (where I *think* you are) I'd gladly pay for a consultation.
@@MikeO-dr7hn It is a 28.5 inch wide cutout. They tend to be very reliable as long as you take good care of them. 😉 The quality and ability of service varies depending on where you live. I’d recommend reaching out to their tech support line and see who services that area and see if they’re competent.
@@theappliancereview Thank you; your prompt reply is much appreciated. I'll assume my 28.5 cutout is big enough then. I will indeed reach out to see who services the area. Assuming that is good; I can't wait!
For me one of the most commonly used functions is the quick 30s microwave and then following up with some quick 5 or 30 second adjustments. Try that from a cold start on the Thermador. Atrocious. First you have to press the on button and wait for a splash screen and a low quality sound. Then navigate to microwave and then adjust time and start it. Didn’t time it but it’s something so basic that a lot of microwaves do right.
I apologize for several responses. But I just re-reviewed this video and at 4:50 you simply grab the door of the Miele speed oven and pull it down. I ask because I have been trying to decide handle/no handle. Pushing a button and waiting does not appeal to me; but if I could just pull it down - problem solved. Is doing that practical when the oven is hot? P.S. I did call Miele and reached a very nice human who told me who the local warranty repair person was.
Honestly (IMHO) it’s a bit of a pain not having a handle. The button thing is annoying in that it’s mostly responsive when touched but not consistently so. I eventually learned that I could pry the door open like you saw in the video but it requires a decent amount of finger strength. I actually thought about mentioning my irritation with the design in my reply to your last comment but was in the middle of 10 things. 😬
