Is the soft brush roll much different than the blue one on hard floors (i.e., to reduce the risk of scratching)? I have a X4 and a Felix, but my wife prefers the lighter handle weight and attached wand on the X4. Thanks!

Hey. It has been several months since I learned (from you) that the X7 Premiums adjust better to residential carpeting. My X4 Boost will NOT maintain contact with my carpet unless boost mode is enabled. Due to using Boost Mode for more than a few minutes at a time, Sebo corporate replaced numerous parts related to the self-adjusting feature. I got it back, problem solved. That was several months ago. Now it is starting to act up again. I wonder if the X7 would clean my carpet well the way I like without Boost mode enabled, the same way my X4 does with boost mode is enabled. Can you elaborate on this for me please? Before I bite the bullet? My downstairs carpet is a hybrid. It’s low pile. Higher pile than commercial “no pile” carpet, but below medium pile. It is 50% Berber , and 50% cut frieze. Nylon. Very dense. It has a square pattern in it. Would a Lindhaus Activa be a better option? Or the Diamanté? I have a Felix and do not care for it much. I prefer the traditional upright design, though I do love the swiveling function for hard floor areas. Hence it also needs to clean hard floors very well, and quickly, without a fuss.

Im interested in the x4 and x7 but not sure I trust the automatic height adjustment enough. I have like 70% carpet and 30% tile. Is the Sebo Essential G4 the way to go then for me? Seems like same vacuum but with manual height adjustment.

I've had the X4 for over a decade and LOVE it. It has zero difficulty adjusting from tile to carpet and back and does a phenomenal job on both. I use it to sweep my hard floors rather than a broom and have no complaints. I'm planning to get a second Sebo to replace a craptacular Miele that I keep downstairs (but stopped using because it's so inferior to the Sebo), and believe either the X4 or X7 would be excellent choices.

Interesting info for sure! BTW USA Today tested the X7 and for some reason only picked up 40% of their carpet's ground in dirt .vs. the now discontinued Miele U1 that got a bit over 80%. Any reason why they would get weak performance?

From a testing process point of view there are a plethora of reasons. One reason among many is the U1 has no height adjustment where as the X7 has automatic adjustment. If the testing was done in such a way that the X7 was not allowed the time needed to adjust to the floor type it may have not picked up well. The Miele U1 with it's lack of any adjustment tends to run a little lower than we are comfortable with which creates the risk of increased wear on the carpet. It can however increase pickup efficacy particularly if they are testing in thinner carpets or non pad backed carpets which is often the case with these sort of tests. That said, I think the answer is simpler than that. Good stats on the size of this market are hard to find but every one agrees there are billions (yes with a B) to be had in this sector. This article predicts the market to hit 22 billion by 2028 www.globenewswire.com/en/news-release/2022/09/07/2511585/0/en/Vacuum-Cleaner-Market-Hit-Sales-of-22-06-Billion-by-2028-Global-Vacuum-Cleaner-Shipment-to-Surpass-158-Million-Units-By-2028.html People rarely think about that but the reality is that where there is this much money there is also a lot of motivation for "funny business". Companies (like us) spend a ton of resources marketing their products. Miele is famous in the industry for having bizarre "testing" reviews that simply make no sense. For several years Consumer reports was "testing" Miele uprights in their vacuum cleaner round ups and giving some Miele uprights very very high marks and others mid range marks. The problem with the report was that the machines were IDENTICAL units in every single way with the exception of the color. The units were marketed to different channels and were sold under different model numbers in a deliberate effort to confuse consumers. For example, say the yellow one could be sold on Amazon, the blue one in bed bath and beyond, and the red one in independent dealerships. Yet they were all the same machine. Consumer reports "testing" many years in a row rated these machines at different performance metrics. So the answer to your question is simply marketing. The drive to "shop small" isn't just so your neighbor's business stays open so they can get their kid through college. Small companies like ours are part of your community. Yes, there certainly are bad actors even among small companies. However on a local level the bad actors have a much harder time hiding their behavior and staying in business where as the companies which truly want to serve their neighbors gain the reputation of such.

Thorough response! Adjusting brush roller height remains a real sore spot and am surprised Sebo doesn't offer automatic versions of the ET nozzle series. Is good they offer plush carpet solutions!

Great video! I have mostly hard floors with some oriental rugs in my house. Which vacuum would you suggest to buy? X4, X7, or maybe Felix?
@joshyouwa

definitely a toss up between the X7 and Felix. If the rugs are small enough to bring in to a Sebo dealership and try them on there that would be ideal. Sebo dealers always have demo models for you to try out.

@@joshyouwa Thank you for the answer! I was just curious if it's suitable for hard floors, but apparently it is!

@ I wouldn't recommend the X series at all, in your case. They do work on hard floors but it wears out the brushes quickly and they aren't suitable for delicate flooring. I assume you are Hungarian and like you do, most people have hard floors there and a few rugs. A Felix would be a better choice, but these vacuums aren't really good for above-the-floor cleaning, therefore I think you would actually be fine with a canister-type Sebo with a turbo brush.

@@匿名的-1 Thank you for your suggestion! Yes, I am in Hungary, and I have about 150m2 hard floor and about 30m2 covered with rugs… But my wife wants only upright vacuum :( She don’t lile to pull the canister type everywhere. And I thought that a wired upright is stronger than a Dyson or similar battery powered vacuum…
@匿名的-1
@匿名的-1 Год назад
@ You are right about the Dyson. They are good, but for smaller areas and they aren't as reliable as a literal commercial vacuum brand. Plus the batteries would start to fade after the first year or even earlier and considering how they sell them for like 250000+ forint is just outrageous and a waste of money. Well, if she insists then, I suppose Felix is the best and kinda the only choice. But the Felix doesn't stand up on its own when it has the hard floor nozzle on, but since the powerhead is adjustable and can be turned off so you can use it for hard floors, but it won't be effective with the finest particles like dust or sand.
