HI FRIENDS 😁
A few months ago I asked over on instagram what kinds of videos you’d like to see from me here and one of the most popular requests was some kind of pros/cons of the stalogy vs. The hobonichi cousin - the two planners I adore most in this world 😍
As you will soon find out, I have a hard time ranking them and accidentally veer into some unsolicited philosophizations on the infamous phenomenon of planner peace (oops). Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think!

Hey Lauren, great video (: With your experience I think I'd love to hear more about planner peace. I use a planner on and off and I wish I'd get more into the customizing aspect. I have a of history OCD and ran into a similar issue with the hobonichi; when my brain sees that full page per day I just feel inexplicably compelled to fill the entire thing. After about a year in the dated hobonichi book I switched to a plain hobonichi notebook and that doesn't trigger problematic planning for my brain nearly as much. Love my plain notebook!

so happy you have found a notebook that can be helpful for you!! i relate to that experience SO much and it has truly made planning a process that I can love again 🤍 which is what is should always be 😁

Hi Lauren. Have been watching JayPlans and she mentioned your name a few times, and i hopped over to your vids on RU-vid. Fellow Canadian Planner newbie here. I LOOOOOVE your handwriting....OMG i wish i could be as neat as you. I love your spreads in your B6. I was using a cousin last but i love the blank sheet layout in using a B6, as like you said, you can move things around.

I love that you brought out the 2019 stalogy! Good memories hehe. I forgot how great your cousin looked too! I had a tough time with the cousin daily pages too but I also thought yours were always amazing! I would love to see what you can show of your journaling! I’m currently going through an endless debate of stalogy vs Weeks! (Lol) Also how do you wake up at 5am?! I always wake up around then and go back to sleep and of course struggle to get up🤦🏻‍♀️. Also, I feel like you’re gonna be in school forever 😂 (and I thought that before you said it in the video HA!) I can’t wait to see what you end up using the rest of the year!

SO much nostalgia in that 2019 stalogy omg 🥹 SO jealous of your weeks - i can never seem to get it to work for me but always have major fomo hahaha. too funny you predicted basically everything that i was gonna say - i need a sabbatical from school and im not even finished this degree yet 😂

Omg the daily pages get sooo daunting! I have found a way to use them now without being overwhelmed. I’m obsessed with people who make these beautiful journal pages with decoration only (washi, ephemera, quotes) and I’ve been doing that with my dailies. Using it for memory keeping but also that pretty spread page. I’m in the cousin Avec but just bought a stalogy notebook with intent to put trackers and things like that in (more bullet journal like). I still haven’t found something that works best for me. I don’t use the weekly pages and they tend to trigger my anxiety so I avoid them. I hate carrying two books but I think that may be my best bet.

ahhh yes i completely agree! it is so essential to figure out a way to use the daily pages that isn't overwhelming, otherwise it's a totally unsustainable practice! In my recent video i explain how I am carrying two books - maybe something similar could work for you too?!

@raer7907 have you checked out the KINBOR planners? They have an A5 that’s the monthly and dailies without the weeklies. The paper is quite nice and the price is great. I have a video on them if you want to check it out let me know n

I’ve used both and I have to say for me, the Stalogy is where it’s at. I was always torn between the cousin and the Stalogy but I find the cousin a bit too limiting in that sometimes I wanted to do a list of notes or whatever in between or in addition to days or maybe my journaling extended beyond what a page could hold and the cousin just didn’t allow for any of that. And you’re right, once you get your grid spacing down drawing the calendars and layouts is very simple. I love you in both planners but you in the Stalogy is goals for sure.

Loved your flip-through. Your planners are so fun and beautiful. I’m a functional planner trying to use stickers more. Have you checked out Sterling Ink’s Common Planner? It looks like it’ll be both books in one. 😊

Hi Lauren 🤍 I don’t use either of these planners but I still really enjoyed this video and hearing your reasoning and thoughts. Also, I just want to say I love you videos. I’m in a lot of pain right now and really struggling and when I saw your new video it was a bright spot for me and such a good distraction so thanks for making it ☺️

I’m torn between the stalogy (B6) and cousin. I love the weeklies but struggle to fill the dailies in the cousin. But I like to be creative in the stalogy. So for now I’m doubling everything up and doing them both at the same time! Oh and also trying an A6 hobonichi….. 😂 Great video 💜

Love your video! I like the rings, though (not the discs), I use moterm, filofax, and gillio ring planners in several sizes. But if I had to use a notebook, I wouldn't draw it all myself, I would just use printables, especially for the monthly pages. I also think the the hobonichi day free notebook is a good idea, but I need the weeklies, it's mysin planner spread.

i am always drawn to others' rings setups because they always look so beautiful and professional 😍 & i totally feel you about the hobo day free - wish they'd do a version with weekly spreads but without the dailies! the dream lol....
