Comparing Wizard and Octo Zombie (to see quite how different they are) 

weakness too for octo because you can kill the octos by hypnotizing them while sheeps are passive for ALL

I thought the difference was literally that: Wizard, well your frontline are sheep, but you still can dmg wizard direct Octo: well you need to destroy all the squids first, before you can dmg octo

Also, the fact each projectile acts like a wall gives octo a shield, allowing him to survive longer, or if you use lobbing plants, they can out right ignore the octopi, thus making your plants more or less perma-disabled.

Wizard is more dangerous if there alot of zombies in the front,because you cant kill the sheep and Will waste space

If you have any insta kill like cherry bomb wizard stops being a threat. Octo is a threat unless killed INSTANTLY.

Nah, I know. Witch instakilling wizard is usually an average shot, and hot pot just shouldn't be brought in BWB ever so I didn't bring them up.

Weaknesses for octo - starfruit, rotobaga, snapdragon, gloom vine, phat beet...

yet another problem is the levels they appear in. the main way to counter them is insta plants, its eazy to do with the wizard, though that does cut into your sun reserves if he appears early. however the OCTO zombie has no such easy weaknesses. his slowness is actually an advantage for him, as he obtains a lot of meatshields you have to tear through first. and if you wanna use instas your options are: either very quickly place a lily pad and cherry bomb, and hope the pad survives long enough for cherry to blow, use a halepenio OR use tangle kelp. all of which have downsides. halepieno is a premium plant (last time i checked) so thats a no go for most players, tangle kelp has a habit of not grabbing octo and instead drowning a nearly dead browncoat, and if you wanna cherry bomb him you have to be FAST and hope the lily survives, as hes usually in the water causing it to become nearly immune to instas. or wait a year to get ghost pepper, which is best insta that doesnt have those problems. but if you cant get her in time you have to wait a year. his only true counter is banana launcher, which can target him directly and instakill him. but he costs a lot, and takes a while to charge.

Snapdragons are a good counter to octos though. So are fume shroom and bonk choy. Basically aboyt any close range plant with a fast firerate are the best octo counters.

@@lebollsong that is right... but they're not usually alone. enter: the fisherman. without ranged plants they'll gut your defences really fast, so you HAVE to have any type of range. plus they need Lilly pads to accomidate that strat. which usually isnt a problem, but that does mean earlygame octos are a big problem.

This is why I like to use Rotobaga in BWB. Along with not needing lily pads, they can shoot plants in other lanes without disrupting their main DPS. This lets you remove octopi without even thinking about it

I definitely think another problem is that you have to choose a good few various plants to counter the various gimmicks in BWB, which sucks because then you have to find specific counters (spear mint family) to the octos, and may have to sacrifice a plant or two

Another example: Pharaoh zombie and newspaper zombie. Both are high health zombies and when their “shields” are destroyed, they go faster than before

I always wanted to make a mod level called “ancient egypt on steroids” With Cavemen browncoat, conehead and bucket, turquoise skull zombie, Hair metal Gargantuar, Disco tron 3000, MC Zom-B, Newspaper zombie, and Octo zombie. Basically the overpowered versions of the zombies there.

Phat Beet? Starfruit and Gloom Vine are much better options lol

@@staringcorgi6475 Not discrediting your point however 1. Jalapeno is a gemium (so not accessible at the start) 2. Jalapeno is not the best instant kill, Cherry Bomb and PPM are far more popular and efficient.

Spikes and piercing plants are very good against wizards, besides, I still agree that wizards would be much more dangerous if the Dark Ages levels were as hard as the ones in Big Wave Beach. Regardless, both require you to strategize your defense around them, otherwise your will suffer

another issue is that if a wizard is being very problematic you can usually simply use an insta to delete it and your plant are back there are less instas that can effectively deal with octo(since most require land) and when you do kill it you still have to deal with the octupi the zombie threw

I am coming mostly from a mod's perspective and every level with wizard has been more painful than octos maybe I am well too experienced with octos after playing too much S-14 and learning how to counter him @@pedroivog.s.6870

i think jester is fine because its literally one of the only reasons in the entire game why you'd ever switch off high damage plants like repeater and melonpult and the game needs that to stay fun

@@DannyCheezits i think zcorpion is much worse he shoots a vase that one shots most plants spawns either a healer zombie or buckethead also he's a stationary zombie too so he might just camp at the back in which he's protected from other zombies and just keep shooting vases at your banana launchers and wintermelons

Wizard zombie targets the first plant on their lane before going along the column, so it will disable that column before going to the next one. Octo zombie on the other hand will disable its lane entirely before going for the adjacent lane.

But the octo canbe destroyed before octo dies and don't need to wait

not an error, when thrown they are called squids, while the zombie is called octopus zombie i have no clue why this is a thing but it sure is

@@TokyoDrift456 You'd think but no, its extremely consistent that the octo zombie is called octo and the projectile and it's GI is squid. I imagine its so they don't overlap or something, but at this point most people I talk to agree to call the GI squid and the zombie Octo for clarity, so yeah. not an error just pvz2 being weird
