The inner surface of the outer fork tubes have Showa’s Dimplush texture, which features a wave-like finish to help retain an oil film for smoother action. The Dimplush texture also has Kashima coating to create a hard, low-friction surface that helps prevent wear so the sliding surfaces remain smooth for a long time. The lubricating material in the coating contributes to smoother suspension action, especially at the initial part of the stroke, and a better ride feel.

Thanks for saving some money for someone, possibly me. 😂 Claim to fame sr suspension is nothing to brag about. A lot of reviews on the bike models say it's on par with A kit stuff. Doesn't seem to be the case.
Hello, Great question. There isnt an "absolute" answer which is better since suspension preference is subjective / unique to each riders ability, terrain, and riding style. The regular KX450 model would be most liked by amateur and vet riders looking for the most comfortable ride. The SR models (KYB and Showa) are both firmer setups and liked by faster riders and/or riders that prefer a firmer suspension setup. For reference the JBI Moto spec is still firmer of a setup then the SR models but not by much. Is the SR worth the extra 2500, thats hard to say. The regular KX model suspension can be upgrade to equal settings or better settings then the SR for less then $1000.
Great video. Seems to be a lot of confusion going around with people calling the SR suspension "A-kit". Any chance you could do a similar video explaining the differences between SR and true A-kit?
Only the coatings are different. The valving is identical on the CRF450R and CRF450R WE. The shocks are slightly different since the shafts are different sizes
