Someone pointed out to me that siege jetfire does have waist swivel, it's just very tight, this would put siege ahead of FT on articulation, making siege the winner. My bad for missing that.
Siege is The winner for me over all, if FT was making a MP figure, Siege gives SO MUCH more and on cheaper price, on the main line, and the MP is the one who is supposed to give more. That is why this figure is so impressive. Fanstoys is good, but too plain and too expensive.
Siege Jetfire is arguably one of the best figures Hasbro has ever made in the entire TF line. I am glad your review reflects that compared to one of the big FT favorites out there. Nice review!
Actually he is trying to capture Skyfire, the original comic/cartoon version. The g1 we know and love was Hasbro buying 3rd party from a producer that was going out of business and had done previous Robotech/Southern Cross models before that company became Harmony Gold and brought the Valks back to production. I hate these versions but they are the real cartoon/comic adaptions while the imposter is the superior macross model we all consider the G1 Toy but not actual G1 cartoon version.
Out of my entire mainline collection from the last several years, Jetfire is my favorite. It’s very impressive what you get for that price point. It stands out visually as well, especially when you armor him up with all the accessories. Great video!
I mean, I wasn’t expecting the $90 fig to blow the $200+ one out of the water, but it is impressive that hasbro finally put the effort into their transformers line to atleast be on par with their other lines. Also siege does have a waist haha it’s just a little tight and easy to miss. Fun comparison, I ended up out of MP cause of the toon look, but fanstoys does nail that aesthetic
Toon accuracy should have been taken for the Cartoon they actually represented Phoenix is a representaiton of G1 Jetfire Siege Jetfire is a representation of the Netflix series, same goes for scale. Can't really compare both under the same criteria You can also put two headmasters inside of the red backpack in the Siege figure
Props to Hasbro for putting out a mainline product that can compete with a Fanstoys MP collectible. Pretty crazy when you think about it. Its not just any 3rd party company, it’s freaking Fanstoys. Personally its Phoenix all day for me cause I only collect G1 MP figures.
It looks like we both win with these figures. I collect the Mainline figures because I like G1 inspired designs with the extra sculpting, so this Siege Jetfire works for me. ✌🏻
I have had my fingers crossed that one company would do exactly that to Trypticon, make him Metroplex size &....... maybe add some features, but that's just extra
Fun video. I own both. I’m surprised you dinged Siege for not being as cartoon accurate when they are based off of two different cartoons. Turn it around the other way and Fan Toys is less accurate if comparing to the Siege cartoon. LoL! Anyways, they are both excellent, but certainly not in the same league. Thanks for the great videos.
Great review as always! Hasbro has absolutely knocked it outta the park the last few years with what you get for the money. I’ve actually sold a bunch of my Master pieces. For example, I never thought I’d get rid of my masterpiece Grimlock but the studio series 86 blows it away.
I'm not a huge Jetfire fan, but this comparison is really helpful. If I do decide to get one, the Siege figure would be okay in my book to join my other MP figures.
My ultimate factor is no Autobot can ever be bigger than the Dinobots unless it's a combiner so Siege works great for me, he's still bigger than the MP Autobots but shorter than the GigaPower set.
nice video tm. I used to have both of them and ended up selling. Ft has excellent sculpt but his articulation was a dealbreaker. siege jetfire was a really cool figure but looking at his sculpt, he is a placeholder at best.
For me, facesculpt is extremely important. And the FT face sculpt is just amazing! Although siege is accurate to the siege show, but G1 is how I remember transformers so FT is the winner for me.
I picked up the Hasbro version for MP/Chug display purpose, my concern was cost and value. I really love that FT alt mode though. Very balanced comparison video!
One's fun to play with, the other not so much. One feels like a high end collectable, the other not so much. I think if you want to put the Hasbro in your MP display, you can get away with it.
I have both (my opinion of course) they both serve different purposes (materials, fit &, finish, play factor, scale and hyper toon accuracy give or take based on preference). I agree with the original post though, its about what works in *your* collection.
What about yellowing of plastic? Has anybody noticed it in Phoenix or Siege? I've been told to keep in mind the yellowing of plastic over time when thinking of buying a white figure. For instance, a friend of mine had this issue with Wheeljack MP KO in a relatively small amount of time. Are there any reports about those two? P.S. Great review!!
I enjoy your reviews- Id love to see a different more RANDOM comparison review- like lets say putting Giga Guttur vs Hasbro Jetfire....- 2 entirely different Transformers against eachother.... I want to buy a Hasbro Jetfire. I hope we eventually get them in New Zealand...I see they are re released in UK.
@@TMReviews I am all over the place with buying and I guess others are too. Your reviews are GOLD. I was thinking putting different Transformer brands and characters but reviewing the same format. Just an idea. I mean how would a 3rd party Swoop go up against a 3rd party Starscream....I enjoy your work. Keep it up.
Solid review as always. I don’t own a single transformer, but I regularly watch your videos. Maybe one day I’ll pop the 🍒. Until then… I’ll just watch and dream.
That's awesome, thanks for watching even tho you don't have any, I suggest starting with just an optimus prime MP for fun, you don't need to commit to the life like I have
@@TMReviews Agree on all that. I make music so I can’t really “afford” to be super passionate and invested in two things, so I just pretend your collection is mine. 😁 I also watch your live streams when I catch them and subscribe to Tman as well and ya’ll do a fabulous job. I really want to get the TE-01. I should just pull the trigger but it looks like they stopped making them, and with my luck I’ll buy one on eBay end up with some KO of MP-44 or some other piece of junk. 🤪
@@MaVeRiCk77 😆 Looks like it. I think I’m already down the rabbit hole… I just don’t have to worry about shelf space. My addictive personality and 🐇 🕳 aren’t exactly a good mix, but I respect your community.
