There's really only 3 main difference between the two that really change them for me. One bandori makes custom instrumentals while proseka doesn't. Two early on proseka had difficulties mixing character voices together and character and vocaloid voices together though thats mostly solved now. And lastly in almost all bandori covers theres only one vocalist unless its a special song, all mrmbers join in for a word or two, or its RAS with chuu2.
i dont mind the line distribution though. in project sekai, theyre meant to resemble units where many members song and dont play instruments. in bandori, every band is meant to resemble actual rock bands, with different styles. kasumi, ran, yukina, etc (and ichika) get all the lines because theyre the lead singers. its just the nature of the style
proseka also changes the composition of instrumentals, most aren't that noticeable when you listen to it for the first time. proseka's covers tried to be as close to the og songs unlike bandori
Yes I think Bandori's vocalists have stronger voices to pair with their instrumentals, while Pjsk specializes in melody, they make more high and soft notes
@@jaehahaagreed. Though kinda disappointing for VBS since they’re the “powerful vocal street singers” and stuff. I wish they were a bit more like Bandori vocalists.
what I think is if Proseka really changes the total instrument, it will cause a different BPM so that when you switch vocals to the original song/singer there will be a different BPM for the charts...This is my opinion, sorry if I'm wrong
Yeah, Proseka is more covers without much arrangement paired to the group which fits the song most (in most cases, or just Leo/Need for no reason lol), while Bandori always arranges them quite a lot to fit to the singing band's theme and singers. tbh I dont have a general preference, love both styles and games to the moon and back. tl;dr: if you want "faithful" covers go proseka, if you love more freely arranged ones go bandori.
as a pjsk player who has dipped into bandori a few times, never fully dipping, two things I’ve absolutely ADORED about bandori is how they put a spin on things, and their artstyle. The fact that all the bands sound different to the originals sparks so much more, along with the different vocals. Still recognizable, but they achieve more in pulling my heart.
@@neronar_they are from the official RU-vid channel. Every now and then they post a video with a short Voice Drama + Cover, the segment is called vbs archives
Personally I prefer Kanade's Hated by Life Itself cover, not just because of her voice but because of the impact this songs with its lyrics can give you if you understand Kanade's character, making it more emotional and deep. (I also play bandori but I don't really know if Ran has anything similar that I just mentioned, I don't really follow her character)
As a Sekai player, the biggest problem with the covers is that it seems like the VAs have to sing in such a way that they don’t totally overpower the Vocaloids. Even then, the Vocaloids are poorly tuned and end up sounding like awkward backing vocals. The covers without the Vocaloids are really good, like Dramaturgy and Venom. For Bandori, their covers get custom instrumentals that really complement the vocals. It also sounds very good.
as a non bandori player and a pjsekai character, i can’t really decide which one’s better but they all sound good !!! also i realised that bandori tries to sound different than the original which is kinda cool because of originality but sometimes pjsekai sounds better than them.
@@artowardseternityy__oh my god you are one of my favorite pjsk players you are so good at singing and ur va is so funny i wish you were in more songs bro
Bandori - spices things up by using different instruments for the song along with strong vocals, sometimes too strong that it makes the song just plain rock even though it wasn't supposed to be rock in the first place. Also, Roselia is the best group in Bandori imo (reminds me of Bud Virgin Logic in SB69) Project Sekai - stays true to the original, sometimes sounds better than the original, sometimes they don't. Also, Nene best girl. This is my opinion, if you have nothing good to say as a reply you are free to ignore my comment. Anyway, nice comparison video. I never knew they had so many songs in common as I have only played Bandori for a short while and been playing Project Sekai JP since release. Fun fact: Ichika in Project Sekai is the main vocal of Bud Virgin Logic in SB69
a few things i would like to point out: -a vast majority of bandori's vocaloid covers are done by afterglow, whose vocalist has an infamously powerful and rather husky voice. especially when compared to project sekai's singers (especially ichika), ran has a lot of energy with her voice, and the juxtaposition can be pretty off-putting. -often, bandori's vocalists fall strictly into either the "powerful" or "cutesy" categories. the exception to this is usually mashiro, but morfonica had covered a grand total of 1 vocaloid song (which i think is quite a pity, them having a violin and all but i digress), and the only other vocaloid song she sings in is shared with kasumi. i personally think mashiro's voice is very flexible, and bandori not using her often makes their covers in general fall off a bit more than sekai. -project sekai's singers tend to be a lot more reserved than bandori's. coupled with poor mixing especially in the older covers, this may sway the otherwise energetic/desperate nature of some songs *cough* lost one's weeping *cough* -because a lot of sekai's covers feature all 4 unit members singing, sometimes alongside a vocaloid, their voices are prone to muddling each other up and result in a messy cover. i think the most prominent example of this is daybreak frontline, which in the first place calls for at most 2 singers. -sekai's conservative nature can sometimes hold back the potential of their singers, especially compared to bandori which takes a lot of liberty in their arrangements. but bandori also tends to overdo a lot of instrumentals at the same time. -sekai, by nature, places more focus on vocals and the lyrics of a song, whearas bandori had a whole band behind each cover. because of this, bandori places more emphasis on the instrumentals, and i think the vocalists should not be the everyone's main focus of the covers. the bass in setsuna trip, for example, goes SO HARD. bang dream and project sekai are ultimately vastly different franchises, meant for different target audiences. they just kinda ended up on the sane path. and i think it's pretty interesting to see their similarities and differences. edit: since i have written this, Pastel Palettes and Pareo have covered wakusei loop and this is probably the first cover they made without a main vocalist! also MORFONICA COVERED QUEEN AND IM SO HAPPY
anyway here are my ratings, from a bandori main (total: bandori 16 pjsk 13): happy synthesizer: they sound pretty close to me, but *ayachisa* really put the "happy" in "happy synthesizer". charles: *roselia* slayed, ate, watered my crops, purified my heart, erased the evil, purged my mind, saved my world. mizuena sound good but i feel there is some missed potential. roki: ichika's growl was cool and all, but her voice is too soft for this song, and miku's tuning didn't help. *mocaran* takes this. rettou jottou: although rei's voice is too mature for this song, CHU² and her rap balanced it out. *raise a suilen* gave an excellent performance that brings out the badassery of bring it on, edm and all. on the other hand, the tuning for anhane's cover was... uh... buriki no dance: *raise a suilen* took the rapid fire aspect of the song and amped it up which i love love love. ruikasa's cover feels more fitting for the lyrics (which, what even are the lyrics?) though. asu no yozora shoukaihan: i would have loved ran's cover if it werent for the BAD mixing throughout. although *ichika* lacks the power ran has (which i think is needed here), shes captures the slightly bittersweet tone of the song better. also is it just me or was anhane a bit off-key? dramaturgy: look, sekai, whose idea was it to sing in that key? miku is singing unfathomably high. i like the balance between ran and kasumi's voices. however, i think i would give this song to *akitoya*, because they sound like they are challenging themselves, something i really like. renai saiban: kokoro has covered sil' vous president, but the tone of that song doesnt translate into here. *more more jump's* harmony was pretty good here. KING: ok this is a tough one. on one hand, roselia SLAYED so hard, while on the other, i prefer ruikasa's vibe. roselia sounds like it's coming at you hard and fast whereas ruikasa's cover sounds like an ominous, impending threat. but the mixing in sekai's cover is pretty bad so *roselia* wins this one. romeo and cinderella: i could understand how kasumi would sound out of breath here. besides *shizuairi* is iconic, and their voices have this beauty to them no one else can capture. roku chounen to ichiya monogatari: again, i find ichika's voice way too soft, and miku's consonant pronunciations are blurry. *roselia* not only has yukina singing all her heart out, but also ako going WILD and rinko having a wonderful keyboard arrangement. lost one's weeping: is this even a question? i find it rather sad, really. *afterglow's* cover is one of the most popular among ALL the bandori covers, for good reason; ran and all her power and desperation, and the band itself with irs hard rock team in all its might. as for leo/need... it was just bad. id even argue it's one of the worst covers in sekai. ichika and shiho are singing in different octaves which makes them clash, and they both sound bored at best, emotionless at worst. venom: although i like ran's power, *mizuena* not only bring about the same amount of energy, but also a twisted elegance that i find really charming. karakuri pierrot: aya actually did great here, but *more more jump* give a greater feeling of being stuck and constricted. yi er fanclub: although i find WxS's mv really cute and their harmony pleasant, *kokoro* sounds actually excited and eager and enthusiastic. goodbye sengen: i like the guitar in afterglow and kasumi's cover, but in general it sounds more sad, which i think is due to the flat notes. *WxS* sounds smug, like they actually achieved something and are feeling proud of it, and i like them for that. vampire: i dont like either cover tbh. kasumi sounds like she's struggling, while mmj sounds BORED. but i'll give this one to *mmj* because they have a slightly more mysterious feel to them. yoru ni kakeru: aya just sounded too happy. this easily goes to *sekai*, especially kanade's version. i think this is one of the songs that would have better been covered by morfonica, since mashiro's voice is cut out for melancholic songs, and rui's violin would be an interesting addition (ik ayasa did her own cover but it doesn't count) alien alien: why is there a love song about aliens? anyway kokoro sounds kinda... selfish? like she doesnt have anyone to sing to. so this goes to *emunene*. amanojaku: as usual, i like how *afterglow* spiced up the song with a lot of power. it sounds more exciting, but also with its sense of longing. leo/need sounded messy and a little boring. daybreak frontline: this song holds a special place in my heart. vivid bad squad is my favourite unit in pjsk, and i loved how they took turns in the verses, but the chorus sounded messy because the song doesnt have enough space for 5 people. *raise a suilen's* cover on the other hand is one of the community's most beloved, and was actually the thing that welcomed me into bandori. the instrumental is a lot more exciting and had more dynamics. i actually performed it once, which was a wonderful experience. RAS all the way. phony: one of the only afterglow vs nightcord covers where i think the former has a fighting chance. however, as always, *niigo* has both the power and sadness, so this goes to them. inochi ni kirawarete iru: *nightcord*. see above darling dance: i really like that this was kokoro's first REALLY dark song, and i think she did pretty well by flattening some notes to give it a heavier feel. and we musnt forget she has a band behind her, and if we look at this as a whole *hhw* thing, this cover really shines (thinking about misaki especially here). minoharu did great as well and they had potential, but they could probably have pushed more. shinkai shoujo: im sorry mmj but your cover just sounded BORING. shizuku and haruka were pretty good but airi's power and minori's meekness ruined it, and dont even mention miku's tuning (she sounded like she had a HUGE smile on her face). and as *morfonica's* first and only vocaloid cover, i think they should win this one. the violin was a wonderful addition as it mimicks the flows of water around the girl, and did i mention the BASS? i love it (quite biased though since i think morfonica is very underrated and nanami is best girl). shoujo rei: look mashiro i love you but *shizuharu* went SO SO HARD on this one i cant just not give it to them. it wasnt perfect but it's definitely kirakira dokidoki. odo: the chorus in *bandori's* one was very good and i think the instrumentals were wonderful. an and kohane lack the raw energy that the song calls for. one thing though, in the parts where the high notes get higher in sequence, yukina and rei sounded HORRIBLE; were they trying to be this bad? setsuna trip: minoairi's cover feels like youre dreaming about a setsuna trip, while *poppin'party's* actually feels like youre going out there and experiencing it. the instrumental is less messy than the original, but retains the exciting and chaotic nature of it, common bandori arrangement W. kasumi's vocals were one thing, can we talk about how GOOD everyone else did? otae really surpassed the high standard for guitar, rimi's bass was highlighted in the verses like an egg cracking open to see its golden yolk. my girl saaya probably broke her arms with those consistently energetic drums, and i stand by the fact that the keyboard is the strongest part of the song; arisa's glissando?? absolute eargasm i cant wait for the full version migikata no cho: an and kohane's cover sound like they have a big smile on their faces. *roselia's* cover feels like a desensitized, cold person singing and lamenting although no one will answer them. though if im being honest, i think morfonica would have done this cover way better (see their agehachou cover).
I agree with this sm, I think both games do a good job overall but also have points where they can be improved!! I think your list is really good as well, the only thing I disagree with is Odo bc I really disliked the bandori instrumentals and it just felt really messy to me. I do agree that the anhane version isn’t the most powerful but I still think they did a pretty decent job considering how hard it is to match the energy of the original. I’m definitely a bit biased tho bc I’m more into Pjsk than bandori nowdays lmao
Bandori are currently gonna adding 2 new band into the Franchise which Is Mygo!!!!! And Ave Mujica. Mygo vocalist is more like Mashiro who has Soft and Flexible voice but the band Music is more rock like Afterglow meanwhile Ave Mujica is more into Metal, is interesting how these two new band will be covering some of Vocaloid song in the future.
@@rench.212 mygo is coming into the game, but we aren't sure about ave mujica yet! though i do really like both bands. i love how the vocalist for mygo sounds, their songs feel like a mix of morfonica and popipa. ave mujica is an incredibly cool band as well though!
it's an unfair comparison whenever Roselia is covering a song, especially Six Trillion Years T-T --as someone who has played both games but ended up sticking with pjsk
I feel like project sekai sticks with the style and feel of the original song but bandori sticks to the style of each group. For example, shoujo rei in the bandori version sounded entergetic and the card looked happy while the song is about s**cide. On the other hand, project sekai stayed with the meaning of the song, making it sound sadder and the card look more depressing (since it’s about s**cide).
I'm a project sekai player, so I'm very biased. However, there's something I've noticed that makes me really want to get into bandori, especially with the recent art style change they had. For one, with the music, I love how they seem to change the instrumental to turn it into a whole new song that (most likely) fits the very genre of their bands. The song and the message it has is the same, but they turn it into a different style, like a remix (basically what D4DJ does but in a more stylized manner.). Even so, the very reason I like prsk is because I am a very hardcore vocaloid fan, and I'm happy that prsk likes to stay true to the original song itself, considering prsk being a very tribute to the vocaloid fandom. I like prsk's songs because they give the originals justice, while I also like bandori's as they change it up into a whole new version with a different feel.
@@susannakervinen3979My problem with these songs from Bandori is they just don't keep the tone or message of the original songs. Plus with covers Colorful Stage you can hear something pretty similar to Bandori just takes awhile to unlock sadly.
@@hungerxhunger2548project sekai is definitely better then bandori , because it’s just clearer and not chaotic . But I just say if proseka let the VA‘s sing a bit free style it would’ve bin a bit better !
I swear to god. Ran, LAYER and Yukina genuienly have the most astounding voices. All of the VAs are super talented but Bandori will always have my heart, character and music wise
as an ex-bandori player who later on changed to pjsk (bc i lost my bandori acc) all songs have their own style of music/vocals. example, charles, yukina vocals really is amazing and you could feel her emotions to the song. while as pjsk is more softer and sadder. theres good pjsk songs as well like Dramaturgy by eve. the vocals fit better to the original Eve song which makes it pleasant to hear while bandori music and vocals are more rock-ish to fit Afterglow. time to time i enjoy hearing to bandori's original songs as well
Fun fact: Butterfly On Your Right Shoulder has 2 different version. Roselia version is the Rin version or female’s perspective while the VBS archive (or original in the game) is the Len version or male’s perspective with an extra line midway (can be found in full version)
Shoujo Rei is supposed to be a somber and soft song so that's what disappointed me with how Bandori interpreted their cover. If they did it differently I would've liked their cover too because I would've liked a Bandori cover of my favorite song but the cutesy voices don't do it for me
Yeah bandori covers feel like they are giving it their all and a lot more emotional in terms of the delivery, while pjsk covers are trying to imitate the original song as much as possible imo
@@loki2715Because they are , lmfao . Bandori is olde then Proseka and it’s just different from Proseka . Bandori is Rock fashioned , while Proseka has „Sekai‘s“ .
The two definitely have their own charms and their own differences to fit different music tastes. Personally I prefer PJSK mostly because I like the sound of the original Vocaloid songs, but I can totally see why Bandori covers are just as good and why some people prefer them!
i think the thing about the early project sekai covers that make them sound so weird is that it seemed like the game didnt know how to balance the real voices with the vocaloids yet, so in a lot of covers the vocaloid blends in with the real voices and kinda makes it sound more shallow and gets rid of the vocal quality. i think project sekai has improved at this, but it makes some of the early covers hard to listen to. but overall, i like how voices blend together and the less harsh vocals are more my jam. i think each characters very unique voice adds a lot to the covers and i think its really nice. on the flip side, due to personal preference i dont really like the bandori covers mostly because of how they sing. its not bad at all, but just personally i dont vibe with the kind of tone and technique they use in their covers. however, i think the covers are very unique, theres a lot of variation to them and they are very rich sounding which i enjoy. i tried to be not too biased in that little analysis and although im a pjsk fan im not here to hate on bandori i think the songs are good theyre just not my personal preference
agree w you about the bandori covers. sometimes i think their much stronger vocals go really hard in certain songs, often where pjsekai falls short (lost one's weeping, six trillion years, roki, etc) but for some of the songs that use not overpowering/softer vocals (into the night, karakuri pierrot, shoujorei) i prefer pjsekai covers.
Istg project sekai covers were so bad at the start to the point where i started playing them on mute 💀- AND ESPECIALLY ROKI . Miku's awful tuning and the bad mixing really ruined that cover .. if it was an Ichika solo cover i know for sure it would've been so good .. same goes to lost one's weeping 😭 And The bandori part was so accurate istg , it's sometimes very hard to listen to bandori covers . especially hated by life itself wich was supposed to be a much more calming song but for some reason afterglow's cover really ruined it ..
Everybody seems to be doing it so I'll do it too. 1. Happy Synthesizer - Project Sekai (I honestly really like how they're all in harmony and it's really soothing to the ears) 2. Charles - Bandori (I love how the pjsk one goes from muffled to clear but the Bandori one really hits hard because of the vocals) 3. ROKI - Project Sekai (I really love Ran's voice but Ichika's growl is STUNNING) 4. BRING IT ON - Project Sekai (Layer's voice is so powerful but it justs covers the instrumental and you can still hear the electric beat in the pjsk one) 5. Buriki no Dance - Project Sekai (I feel like the Bandori one doesn't feel like Buriki no Dance and Len's voice really matches with the song) 6. Night Sky Patrol of Tomorrow - Bandori (I love Ichika but her voice is really too soft and Ran's voice always hits SO hard) 7. Dramaturgy - Project Sekai (It feels more like the original in the pjsk one because of Miku in the background) 8. Love Trial - Bandori (I feel like it sounds more clean in the Bandori one because there's only one person singing and I absolutely love Kokoro's voice) 9. KING - Bandori (I love the instrumental and Yukina's voice!! Also Rui and Tsukasa just sounds so silly singing this) 10. Romeo and Cinderella - Tie (They're both good and I cannot explain why) 11. Six Trillion Years and One Night - Project Sekai (Yukina's singing is really incredible but I feel like it's too much and Ichika's is just the right pitch and power) 12. Lost One's Weeping - Tie 13. Venom - Project Sekai (Mizuki's voice just fits this song so much) 14. Karakuri Pierrot - Project Sekai (Aya's voice is too cutesy for this song and the pjsk one REALLY sounds like they're in despair or sad which fits the song(no hate btw I absolutely love Aya!)) 15. 1, 2 Fanclub - Project Sekai (Emu and Nene's voice really resonates with this song but I honestly love Kokoro's voice too) 16. Goodbye Declaration - Project Sekai (I kinda feel like Ran's voice didn't fit with this song) 17. Vampire - Bandori (I kind of dislike Airi's voice here and Kasumi just fits the song) 18. Into the Night - Project Sekai (It has more harmony to it which brings the song to life because it just sounds a lot better with more people) 19. Alien Alien - Project Sekai (Emu and Nene's voice really match up here) 20. Amanojaku - Bandori (YASS RAN SLAYY) 21. DAYBREAK FRONTLINE - Project Sekai (It's more fun to listen because of how relaxing the vocals are (I have actually played this song on both Bandori and Pjsk and I had a stroke)) 22. phony - Tie (I absolutely cannot choose) 23. Hated by Life Itself - Project Sekai (Ran sounds like she's gonna break apart but Kanade's just hits so different even though she has a soft voice it fits her so well and Kanade's cover just wants to make me cry because it resonates with Miku so much and I feel like Ran is overdoing it and the remix kind of ruins the song...) 24. Darling Dance - Bandori (Kokoro really fits this song and her voice is so nice!) 25. Shinkai Shoujo - Project Sekai (I like it more because it sounds more calming and the piano really hits hard) 26. Shoujo Rei - Project Sekai (KURIKAESU FURASSU BAKKU SEMI NO KOE NI DO TOWA KAERANU KIMI anyway I really love Haruka and Shizuku's voice mized together because they sound like they're gonna break and it makes me wanna cry too because they really implemented the true meaning of the song by the vocals and the Bandori one... ehhh...(Shoujo Rei is my fav song btw)) 27. Odo - Tie (I love both sm) 28. Setsuna Trip - Bandori (Kasumi's voice really hit different here it's so powerful yet so cute at the same time) 29. Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder - Bandori (The vocals is just so NICEEE!!) And that's it. It's just my opinion though and if yours is different, it's honestly okay! (Edited to make it more easy to read.)
The best place for my tiny bit of vent. I played Bang Dream, liked just about 2% of the songs, mostly by two of the groups. For Project Sekai I didn't move past the starting line after the tutorial. This video I clicked on only after seeing it had Karakuri Pierrot. None of other songs collected here were to my liking, regardless of whose was the cover. And for Karakuri Pierrot I only like the Pastel*Palletes version. Very interesting to see an argument of too cutesy of a voice. The trope is called something like "Casting by type". It's like saying a bass can't have a range, or a violin. Like you can't be sad with a blank look. Like you can't be still in control of your tears when it hurts more than anything. Like people translate the lyrics into Russian deciding that the singing person is female, not at all vindicated by the "boku" pronoun used.
As someone who plays both bang dream and colorful stage on the English servers, I have to say I highly adore and appreciate the power the vocals and instrumentals of the songs from Bandori give off. Especially the songs from Roselia and Raise A Sullen
@@purllow yeah I think prsk has better game play but bandori is better at pretty much everything else. But bandori is also older and I think when prsk gets to their point their stories will be better and maybe more like mature.
Yea your opinion is correct to me, i still prefer bandori because it have more anime song cover. They're song is also easily noticeable in each band, unlike pjsk that have something very similar to the og song. And i like bandori story more than pjsk
@@enananoThat's what I'm saying! I feel like BRING IT ON is a song that should be sang with a powerful and kind of deep voice. That's why I think it would've been better if AkiAn covered it, alongside Rin and Len. Akito and An complement each others voices really well and it wouldn't be bad if SEGA/ColorfulPallette will remake old covers!
I don’t play bandori but I find it interesting that a lot of people are calling ichika’s voice soft. I would say she was one of the strongest voices in prosekai. Though I’m wondering what people mean by strength and power of voice. I’m a singer so I equate it with the ability to be clear and loud, which matter most when your reaching the edge of your range in either direction and belting. A good example of what I mean is against the currents singer.
Interesting how actual singers agree that Ichika's a good vocalist while non-singers say she's horrible and use old covers as examples... like that's the point. She was meant to sound amateurish in the beginning. Also, if you don't mind, who are your top five vocalists of project sekai?
@@chiika118 Tough pick. With just considering singing ability and how much I like their tone, akito, mizuki, ichika, mafuyu, ena(?) there’s too many people tied for fifth. My other considerations were all of WxS because they all have very good range, support(the ability to not sound strained) and emotion. And Toya because he has very good range and support and I really like his tone.(also has good emotion but less than WxS) With considering emotion though, tsukasa or emu have to replace Ena cause they have so much character in their singing. Which sometimes comes at the cost of blending with the group(mostly in older songs), sounding too shrill(emu), or lack of support
@@ViridianEnchantress I see, I also have Akito, Mizuki, Ichika and Ena in my top five! Shizuku too I think. She has a soft voice type but it's interesting how she keeps her timbre stable when doing challenging notes and not strain. For WxS, I really like Rui's and Nene's voices; it's hard for me to pick between them since they're pretty close. Touya has a really nice low register, if I remember correctly, he reached a D2 note in 'Beyond The Way'.
@@chiika118 I really like shizuku’s voice too!She could also be top 5 actually…. Ah choosing is hard. Rui and Nene are really good too, Emu and Tsukasa standout more to me because of the character in there singing but I think Rui and Nene have better support. All of WxS is pretty close for me. I honestly not sure which part you’re talking about but D2 is impressive! His higher register is really nice too. One of my favourite songs for him is Dawn and Fireflies(I’m sad we won’t get a full cover)
1. happy synthesizer - pjsekai 2. charles - pjsekai (by a tiny bit bc roselia slayed too) 3. roki - bandori, i don't like pjsekai's version 4. bring it on - bandori, i love anhane but i think we can all agree that pjsekai bring it on is a miss 5. buriki no dance - pjsekai but bandori goes hard as well 6. night sky patrol of tomorrow - pjsekai, idk i just don't hear the emotion in bandori's version, just yelling 7. dramaturgy - akitoya > bandori > ichika 8. love trial - pjsekai 9. king - bandori, ruikasa is a bit too mellow 10. romeo and cinderella - pjsekai 11. six trillion years and overnight story - bandori, imo ichika just isn't strong enough here 12. lost one's weeping - easy bandori, tho i never knew ichika and shiho's line before the chorus went so hard 13. venom - pjsekai, but i like bandori's too 14. karakuri pierrot - pjsekai 15. 1, 2 fanclub - pjsekai 16. goodbye sengen - bandori 17. vampire - bandori 18. into the night - pjsekai. all. the. way. 19. alien alien - pjsekai 20. amanojaku - bandori goes so hard 21. daybreak frontline - tie 22. phony - bandori...by like a small margin bc i love nightcord 23. hated by life - pjsekai, kanade's cover is super unique and fits her character so well like how could i not 24. darling dance - pjsekai 25. shinkai shoujo - bandori 26. shoujorei - pjsekai, harushizu's vocals are so ethereal here, literally ascend me to another plane 27. odo - pjsekai, but bandori also slayed 28. setsuna trip - not familiar with this song either way so tie 29. butterfly on your right shoulder - pjsekai slayed too hard on this one, but roselia did amazing as well
Both covers are really good but one thing is, i like how to project sekai covers stay more true tp the originals, Like how in Hated by life itself the vocals in pjsekai are more soft like the original tuning
Man that bandori vers of king is so good you had me shaking in my boots. Like i love ruikasa’s king but shit man. I wish i could combine the backing from the bandori cover with the ruikasa’s vocals
As it stands, I think I usually end up preferring Sekai covers because of how faithful they are to the originals since I'm a vocaloid fan at heart, there are def some exceptions like Bandori's Noushou Sakaretsu Girl cover tho
I’m a firm believer that some of the bandori covers are better than even their originals…. Charles especially, but I also feel this way about goodbye declaration and dramaturgy
idk how to put it simply, but bandori feels like they colorized the cover song with their own color while proseka still feels the same as original does. Still, proseka feels like a symphony when covering a song while bandori on the other hand feels like a duet
i kinda think proseka va's don't really put all of their energy tbh, like i think most of them can sing so much more powerful, but maybe due to them pitching their voices or maybe even character personalities, they sound pretty chill. i haven't played bandori, but omg, the vocals go crazy fr. i think both games' vas do great job, i like all (OR MOST) of the covers and they even inspired me to start learning how to sing :')
I think it comes down to a lot of factors: firstly, as you mentioned, their characters voices, the first person that comes to mind is Akina, her voice as Kohane is a little limited and only with newer songs she seems to have the freedom to use a deeper voice. Also, pjsk are mostly groups, not bands (with the exception of L/N) so their sound is more pop than rock, therefore the mixing of voices should be softer and it shouldn't apply to Leo/need but I think that they decided to leave their voices like that so the group wouldn't stick like a sore thumb. It also comes from the concepts of both games, while bandori are girl bands, pjsk is a world with performers who meet vocaloids, therefore bandori feels like seeing a band at a live house while pjsk feels like listening to a new release from an artist on Spotify. I think the processings and mixing done are also important, bandori vocals feel raw, pjsk feel processed, when seeing live performances of both games you can hear it, bandori doesn't really sound too different, but pjsk does they sound louder and more powerful specially niigo for example
while i personally enjoy bandoris covers more, i dont think theres really a need to compare the two since theyre both trying to do very different things with their covers. both have their pros and are good without the two fandoms needing to fight over which is better (even though thats mostly just the tiktokers who feel the need to put down eachother)
Project sekai shinkai shojou and kind of shojou rei sound so…nothing next to morfonica. It’s the violin. The violin makes you wanna sob. Pjsk has no violin.
I feel like conparing these two games isnt quite fitting since bandori has singers as voiceactors and sekai has voiceactors as singers thats why sekais first covers sound more chunky,, also both games have bands with different vibes meaning more diversity in covers meaning more covers to blast on MUAHAHAHAHAA
I like the project Sekai more since the voice sounds more clear to me and not as rough (like kinda forced but not? Though project Sekai has the same problem with some songs.), and I like how project Sekai has more songs with more than one or two people/person since I like harmony and makes it sound more lovely. And I like how they keep the same beat from the original songs since it doesn’t feel more different than the original. Though I’m not saying Bandori is bad it is still good, there are some covers I like more than project Sekai. Again this is just my opinion. (I played both games, I played Bandori three years but I switched to project Sekai when I started playing it more and needed storage. I started playing project Sekai when it was published for English AppStore.)
To me a few of the bandori ones felt a little rough around the edges (like I think they went flat on a few harder notes more often, happens with sekai too sometimes tho), but there were some I preferred too! The differences are bigger than I had realized in the styles for sure.
@@wooogie672maybe they don’t sound boring as duck like project sekai voice actors and bandori singers don’t sound like they’re bored and actually put emotion into their songs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@epic73011 idk how many covers you’ve listened to to come to the conclusion that pjsk voice actors don’t put emotion into their performances…. loud and yelling ≠ expressing emotion
I like both but one thing I will say (as a project sekai player) is that I don’t like how project sekai mixes vocaloid and real voices together, it sounds quite out of place in my opinion. I feel like they try and make it sound robotic so you know which is a vocaloid but it just ends up sounding quite bad when put together with the character’s vocals. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer the robotic sound when it comes to vocaloid, but I just don’t think it fits in project sekai
i do, theres already a few comments that are controversial 😭 im just putting out that statement in hopes that people who wanted to comment something malicious, they'll know it'll be deleted, so it doesn't get as heated as it was when i made this type of video a year ago.. regardless of my statement, i know some people are just gonna ignore it and thats why i'll be deleting a few comments 😢
11:02 OMG I DIDN'T KNOW BANDORI MADE A COLLAB WITH KURO-CHAN OMG as someone who only plays global, this was news to me and now I can't wait for that song to drop in global 🤲🏼😭
Both Bandori’s and Psekai’s covers are both wonderful in their own ways. Bandori’s takes a song and makes it their very own, while Psekai is more faithful to the original, mostly using the same instrumental of the original song. (I saw other doing this list thing and I wanna do it too. No hate to any of the groups.) 1. Psekai - I just feel like the multiple vocals brought more life to the song. If it were just one singing it would be a tie. 2. Bandori - Yukina’s voice is just so powerful and gorgeous and elegant oh my goodness. 3. Bandori - not even a completion. Bandori’s sounds more fun and energetic; would definitely dance to it. Plus MocaRan. 4. Bandori - RAS just got the song, made it their own, and did it justice. Love it. 5. Psekai - I just like psekai’s more. No comment. 6. Tie - I just can’t choose. They’re both so freaking beautiful in their own way. 7. Psekai - I feel like their versions does the song more justice. 8. Psekai - Their version is so good. Plus it doesn’t seem like a song Kokoro would sing… 9. Bandori - THE INSTRUMENTAL GOES HARD FOR THIS ONE YUKINA AND LISA’S BASS SLAYED 10. Bandori - It would tie; it’s just that Kasumi’s voice got that POWER. 11. Bandori - I just feel like Bandori’s version just got the rawness and power Psekai’s version doesn’t 12. Bandori - I just feel like the harmony for Psekai’s doesn’t work that much. Slaps tho, but I have to give it to Bandori. 13. Tie. I love them both so much I can’t choose. 14. Psekai - Does the song justice. 15. Tie - They’re both alright; not the biggest fan of the song, but it’s good. 16. Psekai - It has a nice bittersweet touch to it, and I like it. 17. Psekai - I just like it better. 18. Tie - I can’t. I really can’t choose which one’s better. They’re both glorious in their own way. 19. Bandori - only by a small margin. 20. Pseaki - THE FEELS 21. Bandori - I just like LAYER’s voice in this better. 22. Tie - Both are so amazing I really can’t. 23. Tie. Bandori’s feels as if Ran is so done with it so she’s screaming (in a good way). Psekai’s feels as if they’re so done with it, they don’t has any breath left (in a good way). Both approach the sing in different ways so it’s difficult to pick which one. 24. Bandori - No comment really. I just feel like Kokoro’s voice makes the sing more energetic, while PSekai’ more quiet-ish. 25. Bandori - RUI ON THE VIOLIN ADDS SO MUCH. Plus I feel like Psekai’s is a bit higher for this that takes away from the sing. 26. Bandori - only by a small margin 27. Psekai - I feel like Bandori’s new instrumental kinda takes away from the sing. Just me. 28. Bandori - I love bandori’s cover SO FREAKING MUCH KASUMI’S VOICE IS SO CUTE YET SO POWERFUL 29. Psekai - The song doesn’t really fit Yukina?? Really fits VBS tho. Bandori - 13 (not counting ties) Psekai - 10 (not counting ties)
i just will forever that bandori does their own instrumentals and these are REAL people with real instruments and real performances like agshhh. no hate to pjsekai whatsoever but bandori will always have a place in my heart
Honestly, pjsekai covers would be so much better if they didn’t put (poorly tuned) vocaloids along with real VA’s. Love bandori for being so original with arrangement and powerful vocals but sometimes they forget the real purpose of covers like in hated by life wich sounds WAY better and meaningful with kanade vocals (i love ran too btw just not this cover of hers)
I came into this with clear favorites, but MAN I have to say, I don’t know if I actually do anymore. The only thing I like ~slightly~ better with some of these is that BanG Dream actually covers the songs and changes the key, instrumentals, and even some vocal inflections. Proseka changes the key sometimes, but mostly stays true to the original. It’s so good either way!!!
As a bandori and pjsekai player, I mostly like Bandori covers more than pjsekai probably bc I like intense songs and some of Yukina, Ran and LAYER covers are powerful and intense too so I love that very much. Pjsekai is good too but its not rlly my type and Im actually a vocaloid fans so I mostly use vocaloid covers than sekai cover.
Prosekas covers are in my personal opinion better or just more that I like them more. Bandori has vocals that kind of overpowers the music to where the voices are the focus. In proseka however both the vocals and music are of equal focus and sound a lot clearer together. It’s not a bad thing either way just my personal preference by ear 😭. Also I feel like proseka covers have more versatility in the voices and production (some don’t I’d say but yk) and I mean that in the way that you can tell distinctively the difference of the characters singing in one song and the ranges in which they sing changes with the song too. Again Bandori’s covers aren’t bad I like them too just by my personal preference I like project sekais more, they’re more listenable to me (for the most part I don’t like some covers) 👍 Edit: ig I’m just saying I like that prosekas sound closer to the original and I do know that bandori does their own instrumentals which some prefer just not me tho. Do attack me also pls 🥲
i appreciate bandori for originality, they're not keeping the original key and they're changing the instrumental a lot, which is great because covers sounds more interesting. comparing bandori to pjsk, project sekai covers sounds really bland sadly. maybe because i prefer when a cover is unique and stands out from the rest that's why im a big fan of d4dj for example, im in love with that techno sounds in their covers!
tbh the only reason i play prsk is cuz it has male vocalists and all the vocaloids (vocaloids have been a huge part of my childhood so obviously the game which has them would be the one i prefer) also cuz im tired of "all waifu" gacha games so i stopped playing bandori after a few days, but dem some of the bandori covers sound amazing and i love the deep voices some of the characters have.
@@angelzladderA good rythem game that I recommend playing is D4DJ! It has a few cards that could be seen as fan service but it's only with their adult units, also has canon lesbians
I really prefer Project Sekais cover, probably because I'm more familliar with it. LAYER is probably my favourite vocalist from Bandori, based on this video.
bandori is definitely more powerful, and so is the instrumental, but i like how delicate but still pretty strong the prosekai covers could be... but i could be biased lmao
1) some of proseka covers would've sounded better if they didn't add a vocaloid in, the voices can't be mixed in a good way in some ways and it's ok. it's good that alternative covers are a thing in game 2) proseka needs to mix members of different units more often. bandori does it regularly and i think it's fun. into the night cover with the girls is VERY nice, cup noodle collab songs are cool, so i see no reason why not 3) hated by life cover in bandori should've waited for MyGO release. tomori fits this song better than ran both vocal and character wise 4) if kasumi's seiyuu didn't have covid while recording vampire😢 we could get an even better cover 5) it's really sad that bandori's shoujo rei turned that way because the song goes so well with kasumi and mashiro as characters :( however MyGO also has a shoujo rei cover, and i really think you should give it a listen its BEAUTIFUL 6) bushiroad hate mashiro for some reason and don't give her much covers in general, not to mention vocaloid covers, LET MORFONICA COOK 7) i'm really excited for what's in store for MyGO songs, out of vocaloid songs i really want them to cover meltdown, calc and ikanaide (the last one maybe even a duet with tomori and soyo... pls pls pls... (delusional))
My opnion! Tbh as a pjsk fan i am SHOCKED with bandori covers they are all so good but anyway, both games covers are good none is worse than the other and none is better than the other all of them are AMAZING AF! 👍
im not really a fan of the bandori girls voices i cant really point out why but they're just off to me i prefer all of the pjsekai versions dont get me wrong tho the bandori girls voices are still awesome like there is so much power in ran's voice i love ran
yeah in Lost One's Weeping I prefer Ran's one cuz sekai's lacks power, but Bandori instrumentals are sometimes not as a good as the original like Bring It On
@@Anna-kz7km yeah i really like the bandori lost one’s weeping as well ran is just so powerful and the sekai one is a tiny bit underwhelming maybe it’s because ichika is singing so high
My favourites: Happy Synthesizer- bandori(The proseka cover is very dry-) Charles- this is hard, but proseka wins Roki- Bandori(I don't like Miku's voice in the proseka version, but Ichika sounds good) Bring it on- proseka(The proseka cover isn't the best thing in the world, but I still prefer it more than the Bandori version) Buriki no dance- Both Night Sky patrol of tomorrow- L/N and bandori(i hate the an and kohane ver. sorry-) Dramaturgy- BANDORI!!!! (BANDORI'S VERSION IS SO-- 🛐. But I also really love Akito and Toya's version too) Love trial: idk- KING- Proseka Romeo and Cinderella- Bandori(Bandori ver.>>>>> Proseka ver.) Sixtrilion years- idk Lost one's weeping- bandori Venon- proseka(Mizuki voice🛐) Kakuri pierrot- proseka(I only like it because of Haruka's voice) 1, 2 fanclub- proseka Goodbye declaration- bandori Vampire- prosekai Yoru ni Kakeru- prosekai Alien, Alien- proseka(I'm not a big fan of kokoro's voice sorry) Amanojaku- Bandori(I can see the effort that Ran's voice actor put into this cover...) Daybreak frontline- BANDORIBANDORIBANDORI (It's the only version of Frontline daybreak that I genuinely like) Phony- bandori (I'm not a big fan of the song in general, but I admit that Bandori's version is better) Hated by life itself- Proseka(This version is so good that it was the first Cover to get a full alt in the game) Darling Dance- Bandori(Pitch) Deep sea girl- Prosekai(Miku, Minori and Airi, GO AWAY AND LET HARUKA AND SHIZUKU SING) Shoujo Rei- Both are very good Odo- BAN-DO-RI(WOAH🗣️💯‼️🔥🔥🔥) Setsuna Trip- Both are good, but I prefer the proseka one(And the April Fools version is a banger) Butterfly- both
if im being honest abt shoujo rei? i don't like how either of them sound. ...ONNNNNN THEIR OWN, DON'T KILL ME however, i mashed up the two versions together, and i honestly think its perfect like that the proseka version on its own is softer in tone, but to the point where it feels like it's lacking ANY power (which i believe it needs at some point) the bandori version does the exact opposite- it has too much power on its own, and needs something to tone it down. when you put both versions together, you get a perfect balance of power and softness. i think the voices of miku, kasumi, mashiro, shizuku, and haruka all blend together really well
I think it’s soft and doesn’t really need to much power considering it’s a somber song… if Airi (the power of MMJ) sang in shoujo rei, it would be weird (but airi is amazing so she’d find a way to pull it off)
imo shoujo rei doesn’t really need “power” behind it. like someone else said, it’s somber, it’s melancholic. the POV is someone going to go kts the same way they pushed their friend to do. i don’t think it’s supposed to sound desperate and “powerful”. the singer isn’t desperate to see her friend again but is more overrun with so much guilt from what she did; maybe she does khs to see her friend again (as she says how she wants to be “possesed” by her iirc). the miku tuning in the original is soft like the pjsk cover, and i really don’t think that this is the song to “do your own thing” with like bandori seems to do with their covers
19-10 THERE WAS SO MANY CLOSE CALLS I am a biased bandori player, I really enjoy the vocals and creative instruments. I wish they had other characters sing more, and I also really liked some pjsk covers, like how smooth it felt (IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN) the odo one was hard to decide, I enjoyed the bandori cover with the use of drums and guitar and diverse vocals, but the pjsk sounded really satisfying, ultimately everything is based on preference and experience ‼️
I played bandori way before pjsekai came out, and I have to give a point to bandori for the instrumentals and the powerful vocals. That said, I don't mean to throw shade onto pjsekai! (as I absolutely ADORE both franchises) Pjsekai also has its own charm, it's more polished I think? They're also trying to keep the feel of the original, which I respect! Basically, both are great in their own ways! Props the VA's for their great work! 💖💖💖
i feel like the vocaloid voices in proseka kinda hinder the potential in the covers, can't put too much style or even volume, because it had to be similar to the tuning. but since real voice + vocaloid is the gimmick in the game you cant really back out of it now :c anyways hinata sato and aiba aina are my fave voices from each game (mizuki and yukina)
