An interesting observation I made when I was there is that the next stop announcement changes depending on whether someone has pressed the stop request button or not. If yes, the announcement goes "stannar i [name]" which means "stopping at [name]". If not, it says "nästa: [name]" which means "next stop: [name]"

Very Unique! I never heard of any other transit system that does that. Usually it would just say "next stop" and "stop requested" as 2 seperate announcements. Though, I know San Fransico, California's MUNI bus system has an announcement that doesn't say stop requested, but "Please remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop", which is started to become common place on major US city bus systems.

Willy .William as an san francisco native who rides muni buses the muni buses never say that. They only say the stop name THREE seconds before it arrives, which is annoying as you cant really be prepared to get off. However AC transit a bus agency nearby in oakland ca does day that

The Oldest tram is the M28 tram, then M29, then M31, then M32 and they are new trams coming into Gothenburg the M33 trams. BTW the location of the 2 tracks crossing each other is at Hjällbo (on the line to Angered) Line 4,8 and 9 You were mostly filming on the Bergsjön and Angered lines

There are three types of trams -M28/29 single section trams -M31 articulated trams, rebuilt with a low floor middle section -M32 AnsaldoBreda Sirio trams, which are very controversial (despite being overall good trams, the Gothenburg ones have a bit of a rocky story. When the first 40 units were ordered in 2005 they were delivered very late. And when they were eventually delivered the main problems they encountered were poor ride quality, malfunctioning air conditioning and track damaging. To add insult to injury in 2013 38 out of 40 trams were put out of service because of chassis corrosion. Then AB were asked to repair the floors and chassis, but even on that they were late and the contract was cancelled. So out of current 65 Sirio trams only 35-40 are in regular service, while the others are withdrawn and might be scrapped. It was later found out that these trams were jerry-built, meaning that AB built them really badly, and that this bad building of the trams was causing extensive track damage, which is costly to repair.)

AnsaldoBreda has a lot of stories like that: the Dutch Fyra trains which were losing pieces while moving, trolleybuses delivered in Nancy, France that had way too short trolley poles, the trams in Lille, France which were horrible until Bombardier modernised them a few years ago etc... That's why they went out of business and got bought by Hitachi.

@@imaginox9 we might add the Danish intercity trains to the list.

Now that 1st & partly the 2nd 1 looks VERY epic & old! Sometimes I wish my area still had old public vehicles in-use. Oh well.

At last... not to far! The oldest trams were made in three series/variants, only two variants remains. THe M28 from ASEA and M29 from Hägglunds. They look similar but technically aren't. but still similar enough to be compatible. Since all the trams ahve different revisions and renovations, the only way to tell them apart are the traction motors. I, for one, have no idea wich one is wich tough... M31 is the tram with the low-floor section, also built by ASEA. They were recently "Modernized" with new controllers and electronics, so the chopper sound sounds very different than from before. I have been onboard theese when they had the original chopping sound, wich can be seen in my channel. M32... oh god! That was what brought AB down, at least a wery contributing factor at least. Italians cannot do anything right. Also remembered teh announcer were a manly voice back then in 2012... now it is a woman? btw, you should hurry up to stockholm! the older metro trains are due to be scrap metal by next year most likely... You must ride them! and a question... did you ride the trains. Västtrafik have alot of different trains for different lines, even DMUs, wich are rare in sweden!

Would like to go to Sweden and to ride on the trams and trains. Plus it’s really snowing heavily. Snow in Sweden. I’m surprised that no transport isn’t affected by the heavy snow. Than the UK grinds to a halt.

Nice Video I used to live in Gothenburg between August 2005 and 2012 as I came to Sweden Lycksele in August 2003, my favourite tram was the M28 and M29 especially M28 the one I hated was the M32, linje 5, 6 and 10 was my local, you should try the buses the buses that I used to travel are probably withdrawn when I was moving to London those are the Volvo 8700LE B12BLE chassis, Volvo 7500 bio bendy bus Volvo B9S chassis, MAN Lion's city NG313 CNG and Volvo 8500 B12BLE chassis.

Wait, Ansaldo Breda trains that actually ride? Stop the press! How can this be? Ansaldo Breda has a reputation of never delivering trains on shedule and with lots of issues and technical problems. The Fyra trains that the Belgium and Dutch railways had ordered a few years back went back to the factory and the order was cancelled. The few trains that where delivered (much too late) hardly rode and broke down all the time for the short time they where in service. The belgium railroads eventually pulled the plug on the project. The problem was that the dutch railways wanted a train faster then a typical intercity but not a super high speed like a Thalys or ICE. Ansaldo Breda was brave enough to try, but failed at it.

Only half of the around 60 trams are in service due to major problems like rust, damage on rails and problems with emergency equipment and the air conditioning. They're a disaster here as well.
@anfsabc_busotto
@anfsabc_busotto 3 года назад
The Fyra trains sicne then have been sent back to Italy, completely refurbished in 2019, renamed as ETR 700 and they now serve on the Frecciargento Milan-Lecce service.

I like the oldest trams. They remind me of the older ones in the former Communist bloc. I also like the underground stations where you can see the living rock.
