One simple question. UG 25+(P3 version) is used dor Aux engine speed control for rated speed of 720RPM. After major overhaul of engine if i want to start the engine at low speed say about 400-450rpm,which knob to be adjusted? Loadlimit or speed knob?please advise.
Check you manual onboard about the governor. But I remember we didn’t change the settings just keep the engine without load. The difference of 720 rpm and 450 rpm is not that big.If you will have something done wrong the 450 rpm can make the same damage to the engine as 720rpm. The only thing that you need to do is to stand near the control linkage of fuel racks or near quick closing valves in case the speed is not stable to shut down the engine. For the first checks I usually made several air blows to rotate the engine but before do that I always turn the engine from flywheel to verify that is turning free.
Sir how to check the speed set point of the governor UG25? Because after replacing the governor .the engine rpm is around 750 . We need 900rpm to achieve 60hz. Thanks Sir.
As I remember you have to connect a computer to it this how you can access but as I know only the manufacturer can do it.Check any label on it to compare or search the number maybe it will help to identify.This is the most common mistake but it your case you was lucky because you put a slower governor to your engine .If it was the way around damage will occur.
Maybe you drain the oil from other opening rather than at normal drain.There is two holes one from the side one in front normally the one for oil replacement is locked on the side.
