If one thing can be learned from jake is that a calm mind can be your greatest tool. My early years i would rushed and stressed out and have a very difficult time troubleshooting. A calm mind can let you think clearly and you can see, observe and have better troubleshooting ideas. Now i tell myself that even 5 minutes spend just looking at it analysing the situation can save you hours. Thanka for the awesome videos
Hi Lecky, I like your calm approach on troubleshooting, this is exemplary and more field elect should practice it this way, rather than stressing over nothing.
I can definitely Learn tons of more things from u Sir, Huge Respect for making these videos despite busy schedule. Please continue making more, your videos teach me what my academy forgot to. GOD BLESS
I have never had any interest in electronics before, but now I’m fascinated by how the systems work and how to detect faults. Thanks for the educational info in you films.
Sir i always watching your past videos and it is very interesting and helpful, even though that i am not working yet , i get some ideas and techniques on how to deal with different kind of problems and give solution to it . Hope that i will be like you soon!Thank you for making different kind of videos . God bless you sir!!!
@leckyjake thank you very much for your work and help, means a lot to us future ETOs. I wanted to ask how do you check those diodes for fault. Much appreciated, keep up with vlog
Excellent and thorough troubleshooting! As a desk jockey I love seeing your field work! One comment you made confused me. When looking at the actuator you mentioned a few reasons you suspected the chuck cable between the actuator/controller. Did you suspect the actuator/controller from the beginning, and if so, why was it important to check the other parts of the NF2 24V bus first?
Because NF2 is supplying 3 loads and need to check those loads one by one. In troubleshooting, esp in shipping, the last thing to be suspected is always the expensive part.
Awesome video I'll let you know nice troubleshooting trick when we have a tripping circuit as such it's nice to insert a lamp at rated voltage in between the breaker in the shorted circuit in this configuration when we turn the circuit on the lamp will illuminate brightly usually once we find the source of short amongst the mirrored of components as you were weeding through the haystack the light will go out so it makes it a little easier you don't have to keep turning the switch on unattentionally letting the smoke out....Peace.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Callen Julian thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
It’s hard to tell for sure, but @7:50 where the canon plug enters the panel. Just below the green label plate and JUST to the right of the gray conductors I swear I see what looks like charred circuit board. Between Gray insulators and “gold” board pins. The furthest left gold pins seem burned
Many year ago ,I had the same trouble with the gobernador triping switch, for to found veri fast the solution,we echanged the gobernador from another generador.
Hi sir i have to ask you about the genset cummin china nta855-g1 the problema if no load the rpm of engine ok for 1800 rpm the probs is why if i load na 415kva the engine low rpm 1435 rpm and shot down the engine pls help for this cause i overhaul the engine and its ok but the problem is shot down the engine if i load to 415kva 60hz?
hi sir governor carbon brush cover fell down i dont have any spare i made insulation tape like ball put inside and over there i put insulation tape it make some problem on future please tell me sir and please reply sir.
Ser pano kung sa synchro panel ung speed control nag ka problema?pero sa governor actuator normal naman. no alarm pero ayaw pumasok ung synchro kahit mag manual kapa.
Hi sir, during maintenance on other gen and if we need to run no4 gen, can we take the governor controller from another gen to run it or each gen has different configuration if all generators kw are same.
@@leckyjake even if all the 4generators are same, possibility to have different parameters or how do we can conform if the parameters are same or different.
want to ask, on my ship now, there are 3 generators, generator number 2 if in parallel the amperage is less than other generators, but the KW voltage and freq are the same as the others, how can that be? For example, generator number 1 has 250 amperes but generator number 2 is only 140 A, what's the problem, teacher?
Make sure the voltage output of each generator is the same with the main CB open. Switch off the engine, ensure Speed & Trim pots are in the center Run the engine and the main CB should be open. Make sure the speed is at 1200 or 1800 RPM Make sure the voltage is as per spec 480 or 600... Do it for all 3 eng / gen and you should get great sharing between them
dear friend, how are you always you are renewable and rich of experience please GO AHEAD with FULL SPEED you have powerful engine (touch wood), again i have confusion about continue tripping of Breaker NF2, since you disconnected all connectors/jack to controller side but still NF2 tripping although when you dismantle controller and connected with NF2 with power supply occurred trip which for me logically if you disconnect all jacks at controller side should NF2 not trip any more except in case of NF2 connect and supply other deflective device which cause the NF2 tripping, Sorry for long explanation just to send my clear view and diagnostics as well as easy way. Really waiting your answer same as waiting your new videos.
I did not disconnect all. Only the output side to ensure/check that I don't have short circuit on the output side. Input cables are still connected on the controller. Every time i powered it on, no out connected, the nf2 is still tripping.
