Thanks! I've ordered Athom for now and i will play with it. It will be interesting how to supervise both sensors pir and mm to get first shot and turn on the light. It would be nice to have the ocupancy info for both, combined to have a single info to integrate in automatation
Thanks for this video... I have a DIY LD1125H mmwave sensor via ESP home installed and running pretty well in one of my bathrooms. I have ordered the Athom presence sensor and will be receiving it tomm, exceited to check the difference between these two... I just want to know what is the use of a PIR sensor along with a mmwave sensor ? my DIY LD1125H sensor does the job very well without a PIR
Yes, it seems that some MMwave sensors like the screek respond really fast while others like the Athom have a delay. I have ordered the LD1125H and will try it out soon. What YAML code did you use?
Interesting. I have had very good response times from my Athom sensors. I've got 6 or so in my house and all detect me almost instantly when I enter the rooms (both PIR nd mmWave).
@@simonsayshomeassistant curious to hear if it's wider. The hi-link ld2450 is a really interesting sensor. I have been using the ld2410c on my own sensors. The anthom is the ld2410 I think
Regarding the mmwave delay problem, please check whether your settings are correct, especially the Detection Delay option, it should be 0.1, or try to click the reset device button, under normal circumstances mmwave should detect faster than Pir, through this video mmwave delay is very Big this is not normal.
Hi there, thank you so much for the input! Yes, I have just checked the delay which was 0.1 but once I reset the device the mmwave is now the first one to detect me! Tell me where do you set the other options to?
I have messed with both of these. But the problem that I have is that the rooms that I want to put them in are too large of a detection area. That's the problem with living in a big house in the United States. Is that unless I want to use zigbee or Z-Wave these new MM wave have a limited range on them. I've tried figuring out ways to move them closer. But it's all dependent on a power source that works.
@@simonsayshomeassistant I'm testing that allso. I'm using the Screek one also. I have it positioned under the bed. I'm on the floor directly in the middle. It works okay but with a king size bed I'm having another problem. It's too close to the bed to get an accurate two-person reading. I can use it fine for just me or just my wife but not for both of us. So it's kind of a stupid problem.
