One small point. I never hear people describing the cast explain a rather obvious “phase” of every double-handed cast-the tip drop at the end. They all do it, and it’s an obvious phase. But they take it for granted for some reason. Keep the tip up when launching, but then, the way you execute the “tip drop” to the water matters. For example, unlike many in this game, I like to insert my mend into the drop using a reach cast. That is, execute a cast, then reach the tip upstream or downstream to inject a mend on the cast (rather than afterward). It works especially well with Skagit heads and winter fishing, almost always an upstream reach cast or tip drop. Watch Mike here-his tip drop is a very definitive movement. Just my two cents. 😊

This has to be the worst competition casting demo ever. House Of Fly, do yourself a favor and cut off that awful last part from your video. Even the line is badly rigged on the reel. At 9:18 he makes a snake roll and calls it a single. 🤦‍♂️ Looks totally beginner.

Stop doing the left hand casts until you have more practice with lighter rods because those casts where pretty bad. you can NOT be afraid of your own casts if you want to cast well, especially not in comp casting. If you are unable to cast 130 feet with a reg 15 foot rod and say a skagit max launch, do NOT touch a competition rod:)
