Teutons are definitely one of the most underrated civs, they lack mobility but late castle age early imp theyre push with a castle is deadly since u force the fight and the enemy can't just run away from your powerful army
I like how the "leave a like" speach gives you the cringe. But in a stream long ago you talked a bit about how a like dosn't cost anything and helps out the content creator a lot. So thats why I give a like and also a comment for the YT-Algorythm. But of course I appreciate that you don't do the "leave a like" speach at the end of your videos. I know it is important, but everyone does it and it is annoying. Thanks TheViper!!! Greets.
I always leave a like at the starting of the video, because it's TheViper (aka GOAT of AOE2) and he delivers. That segment of the video actaully made me laugh for the first time after a tiresome week, that's one of the mian reason we like TheViper a lot, the good vibes. Third place in HC5 was not too bad either, came here to see any comments on the same from the Viper asap (I know this video is before the reveal, but the comment section is always an information mine). Best AOE2 player for me, best streamer. Great person, at aleast online.
When you have gold to spare, combining TK with SO gives you a deadly competition where TK take out the melee units and the SO taking out everything else. There is however some civ counters like mongols.
I'd really like to see a deep-dive into the Sicilians. I rarely see their Skirms used, but they're actually about as good vs other skirms as Dravidian ones, in the castle age. And Hoardings makes Donjons crazy tanky. Would love to see some deep analysis of their weirdness.
It would be great if Teutonic knights were trained from the monastery, it would be a buff for the unit. Maybe, also, including the mounted crusader from campaigns would be awesome.
Might I suggest the Huns as the topic of your next installment in this series? They're a classic AOC civ that dominated the meta for a good chunk of time back in the day, and though they've fallen off since then, they're still a fan favorite.
Noice! I love those videos :) My suggestion for the next civ would have been vietnamese, slavs or ethiopians, so I am really happy with your pick there^^
As Malay main I'd say its great idea for him to cover them as most mid elo players don't understand how they work. Also Ornlu made a video recently saying he wants the free armor to be nerfed for some reason, it makes no sense and I'm pretty sure there's more weird opinions like this on forums.
Would like to see your take on modern Goths. Considering the civ was so bad for so long and is now a tournament pick on some maps, I would like to see your take on them now. Espescially their early game.
I would love, if Teutons would get some slight buffs: 1. Like Persians a unique "Paladin", the mounted crusade units we know from the campaigns. 2. Fortified towers (would fit their lore). 3. Some buff in early or mid game, to help them get through the first 20-30min of the game, as thats when their winrate is too low. 4. Give them back Tredmil crane and some other techs they've lost for Deathmatch (that doesn't matter anymore anyways). 5. Siege Ram 6. For the meme, I would love, if they can shoot arrows out of Siege Towers 11
Goths would probably be the most interesting civ overview, as they actually have a pretty diverse and good tech tree, despite everyone being a bit too tunnel-visioned on their infantry. They very map 🗺 dependent though, as they like having a lot of hunt and/or the players being really close together so they can easily lame them by killing their boar with the extra attack their Villagers have versus them. So they would probably be B tier on Arabia, Four Lakes, Islands, and Arena. Though S tier on some maps 🗺. Also, the Goth spam is not good until very late post-Imperial Age, so it is more of a punishment for your opponent not tech-ing into Hand Cannoneers and/or Champions.
Huns would also be fun. They are a civ that has fallen from golden grace and in curious a pro's thoughts. I wonder if it is because CA are less impactful these days maybe?
They got nerfed a lot. Plus, a lot of newer civs have bonuses to fighting cavalry archers 🏇🏹. Though, they are still good on extremely open hybrid maps, like Four Lakes, because the saving in wood from not having to build houses 🏠 is pretty great for water battles. And house walling is less of a thing on those maps early because the focus is on the water. Plus, they are now better in late Imperial Age due to the changes like to the Atheism tech, buffs to Tarkans, buffs to Cavalry Archer-line units, and a lot more civ bonuses to spearman-line units, which Heavy Cavalry Archers counter if micro-ed.
To be accurate the Teutons should be renamed in 'the Germans'.Teutons were just a Germanic Tribe from nowadays Denmark. Like only named around 120 BC and not for very much longer. So the Teutons from all in Game Campains were more likely Germans.
