@@hkiajtaqks5253Even TF2 gets their own "fun & unique" maps every seasonal update like Embargo in the Summer 2024 for example, and that game hasn't had a proper non-community official update in like what 7 years? Valve maybe can't give us an Operation (or a proper working anticheat) atm because they're focused on finishing up Deadlock, but they already have the winning formula to feed the CS2 community while we wait, why not use it?
@@TheWarOwl yea i am sad that they didnt add any new gamemods. I know that the operation and a big updating during summer is not a good idea but the community need something new to grow not shrink
I feel like these mods and maps should be used for show matches at events. Would actually be fun to watch. To be clear, I don't mean tilted maps specifically, but all the modded game modes and maps WarOwl has made videos on for years.

As a guy with crippling Acrophobia, i can attest this tilted vertigo map is legit stuff right outta my nightmares. i watched the entire video literally shaking and with my arse so clenched i'm pretty sure it was chewing the chair apart. It was honestly more horrifying than any horror game or movie i've checked out in years, congratulations
What impressed me the most is your adaptability to this, because you said it - everything was broken, maps, timings, strats, even the way you move. The only things you could rely on was your skills of “point and click”)
This is probably my favorite idea youve done yet. Its not truly balanced, of course not, but its one of those mods that provides a refreshing change to maps and gameplay in a way that enhances fun parts of the game. I honestly want to see a part 2 of this, where a good mapper has adjusted a few things, like some ramps being unusable, not the 1 way drop ones, the unusable bits. That, and maybe contact detonation smoke grenades, and maybe slightly modified molotovs for better usage? Truly one of my favorite watches tho, and that vertical flick past 90° visually was insanity
Counterstrike needs a de_Escher map, sooner rather than later. Combat aiming and movement seemed pretty interesting with the wonky angles, I agree someone should seriously look at designing a map around the floors not being level.
it's alright if you started the game when there were fewer agents but the more time passes, harder it gets. It's the reason why I'll never get into league, there's no way to learn 180 champs with 4 abilities each
@@bozhidardimitrov3573 you can, but its a painful process, because each time you encounter a champ you don't know well yet you will die to the strong ability you didn't know to watch out for.
yeah, I'm with you there. I've played a lot of both league of legends and valorant, but the thing that always keeps me coming back to CS is the sheer simplicity at its core. you only have to remember how to point and click, and learn the maps. Everything else is muscle memory or game sense. No random BS ability that you need to know exactly how to react to, and enemies have no information that you don't give them. It really is the peak of skill vs skill where you don't lose specifically because someone has an ability your character can't deal with.
@@bozhidardimitrov3573 I mean really its like 40 champs where you have to learn their shtick rather than every ability. that being said, league is an impossible game to get into because your just bashing your head against a wall until you finally learn the minimum amount of knowledge required to play better than a cat walking on a keyboard
Those final words really resonated with me. My most memorable CS:GO moments were playing on custom hide and seek maps with friends, finding all the collisionless walls and other nifty spots.

This is actually such an awesome idea, id love to see what other maps would work with this, which ones would transform maps (like Vertigo) into new and great experiences.
Wild, first off, this video is super cool but also, in a testament to how similar this seems to battlefield: I've never played CS but I have played a lot of battlefield, and that part where you mentioned seeing a few pixels change and called it out for your teammate, my eyes had already *immediately* darted over there when it first happened
The vertigo map reminds me of what I loved about playing those mini-maps. i forgot what they're called. Like de_mouse or something where you're the size of a bug in a kitchen or apartment. Those were always a lot of fun :)
I saw a RU-vid short showing this off a few weeks ago I think, I remember thinking “This would be a great War Owl video” keep up the good content! Been watching for many years and it never gets old
this was one of my favorite bugs ever in overwatch. If mei's wall broke at a spwan door it would tilt you and you could do amazing things like make reinhardt fly. It lasted about 2 days but the clips were so damn funny
It took WarOwl 45° to find out Vertigo is a good map. But yeah, tbh, that looks incredibly fun. One of the only mods I ever wished to actually try for myself.
