Phil is pretty rude sometimes, as others have mentioned turning away during handshakes, but he was outdone by Lewis at the world cup and it was funny to see Phil actually playing the role of the diplomat during Lewis's shenanigans. He looked pretty embarrassed. Also love the fact that the mid-tail end of this video was a Hankey-fest.
Elliot Thomas The way he gets his darts out from the board in some matches makes me laugh. Probably all the pints he downs before going up stage lol. Talk bout RAGING haha!!
Half pissed old men who are completely out of shape. But still have the arrogance to pretend is a sport. And have the cheek to play it in a fucking pub.
The best moment, by far, was having that announcer dude call Australia an, 'old enemy of ours.' Yes, let no one forget the ancient enmity felt deep in the bones of every English man for his aussie counter part.
Dave Besag and now? 'Qualifying School dark horse'? Maybe him and Burnett should try their luck in the BDO, have a little fun with Scotty Dog, he always seems on the verge of a nervous breakdown or perhaps that's how his concentration face looks.
If you ever get threatened by an angry darts player - challenge them to run to the chippy instead of fighting, even if you lose he won't be in any state to kick your arse!.
Every time I've watched Ted Hankey play darts on TV, he does get tormented quite a lot and distracted a lot by the crowd, because he's not even that good anymore.
Jordan95 HD umm. Ok that’s a funny way to describe my dad... and tbh I’ll admit my dad isn’t very good anymore but that’s because he has had a STROKE and has DIABITIES TYPE 2 but yeah...
"He's not that good" Well good enough to be world champion in 2000 & 2009 Darts needs more personalities like Hankey, he might have been a miserable old git but that was partly why I liked him.
Very tough for angry dart players. Tennis players smash their rackets. Snooker players bang their cues on the floor. Dart players can't exactly start chucking their spears. That came out wrong!
Hankey is a good player, the problem is he always responded to a lary crowd so it spiraled out of control. Other players have learnt to ignore idiots. But it has to be said that darts crowds get worse and worse every year. I don't think that's a problem with darts, it's more of a society problem.
At the last WC Barney and vGerwen beat them without giving away a leg in the first 2 single matches, Phil didn't even have to play his 2nd single match, let alone a doubles/pair match cause it was all over by then. Crazy duo but not unbeatable. Orange rules! (wherever matches aren't fixed and athletes aren't doped up, and even there sometimes the 'win by all means' people can't stop the Orange army all the time, and in darts, refs can't give ridiculous penalties against you like they gave to Costa and that Australian at the FIFA WC, or look the other way when you deserve a penalty yourselves, also coaches can't screw you over with a bad or annoying line-up or substitutions that a fan might not agree with, well I guess someone else makes the conveniently stupid decisions in darts seeing that Barney and vdVoort played the WC in 2012 not even a month after vGerwen threw his 17 perfect darts at the World Championship which is a popular video on youtube, what a gift to England and Australia, it was a good formation, but not the strongest possible, perhaps he was ill/sick)
Ted Hankey, best dart throw I've ever seen, so silky smooth. Such a shame he reacted against the crowds and never got them on his side. He had the talent to be one of the all time greats, shame he turned out to be a knob in reality,
Brutal...absolutey savage! I didn't know 'rhoid rage existed in the world of professional darts. Their anger was so menacingly palpable. Berserking maniacs the lot...totally f*#king hard core!
Remember when Ted asked himself 'who's in charge, me or the devil. I think I'm in charge, 9 double 12 shake his hand' then he proceeded to no score smh
Agreed...great player, but gets overly nervous behind the oche under pressure...take the episode of him & MVG: S127 E46 for example, he was hitting hella big but also swimming in sweat while MVG stayed focused on the W.
+william redfern The top darts players are millionaires with hot wives and girlfriends! They're extremely talented at what they do, and yeah they do enjoy the odd pint or two, but so what?
No fistfights, no flipping fingers, no walking away from a game, no mooning the crowd, no showing your dick to the crowed, i find these darters rather behaved and gentle lol.
