I didn't realize how fitting it is for a P3 remake to leak on Easter until you mentioned it (what with the archetype Makoto Yuki goes with)

I hope it's titled Persona 3 Resurrection or Reincarnation or something.

Another interesting thing to note as evidence that supports the footage is real, is that in the Sonic Frontiers section, it features footage of a boss that was scrapped mid-developmemt, but DOES appear in the game's art book. So if this is fake, this means the leaker not only recreated the footage from the ground up for Persona 3, but also did it for Sonic Frontiers as well. Idk at that point it becomes really hard to justify it being faked imo.

Seeing that clip made me want to stop playing P3P and wait to see if a remake is coming. There’s SO MUCH missing in P3P as far as the presentation and storytelling. Watching Elizabeth stand on a slide to slide down it is much more rewarding than reading “Elizabeth stood up on the slide” and hearing some sound effects. I can’t wait for a P3 Remake!

My only wish for a persona 3 remake is changing how social links worked to be more in line with persona 4 and 5. Your choice is full harem or only progressing exclusively one female character and that is just fundamentally a detriment to the game aswell as the meaningless jealously and passive over time deranking systems that punish you for little too no reason.

I see a lot of people being negative about this but I think this is a good thing! If the remake follows through I think it would be awesome to put such an impactful story into more modern hardware and modern mechanics

I'm glad you actually mentioned the Atlus survey about the most requested remakes. All other remake speculation videos ignored it. I watched that 3-hour official Livestream (I can understand some Japanese) and was so excited they revealed Persona 3 as #1 requested remake.. Just to announce P3P port later. Also, that leaked footage looks great, but why is Yukari not using the Evoker when summoning? My fear has been that P3 gets censored for a wider audience.. I hope Evokers are not removed as they are thematically important. They could be changed to be a more "stylized" gun, or only used once per battle instead of repeatedly, but I hope they aren't removed.

As a Sonic fan/player, I'll tell you the reasons why the Sonic Frontiers section added that much copium into P3's remake: The footage not only matches early leaks by an alleged playtester on 4chan but the map and enemy patterns featured are that of the beta version of the game according to datamining findings (Sonic Frontiers had originally a planned 2021 release date but Sonic Team fought for an extra development year).

If the remake is really happening, the only real change I want is add platonic dialogue options to the Male MC's female Social Links.

I'd be very disappointed if we only got Makoto's story after Kotone finally starts being acknowledged by Atlus. But the lack of an Evoker on Yukari's scene makes me think it's just a fan made render. Or maybe even an early version of a P3 event for P5X.

Since I don't see anyone mentioning this, I'd also like to point out: If the footage of Yukari is fake, not only would they have had to make a model for Yukari, as this is a new model, not the one from P3D -- They would have also had to remake the Arqa block background as well as make a new model for Io and the Venus Eagle, IO seemingly taking inspiration from the P3 Movies, which is a strange thing to reference. This fake would have had to have been made by someone who could make a professional looking animation and also by someone who just happened to have beta footage from Sonic Frontiers, as well as footage of Jet Set Radio. The faker would have had to have forgotten to put the SEES band as well as the Evoker holster on the seemingly professional looking model. If they were going so far to make a fake, why reuse the Hereward bow instead of recreate a bow from Persona 3? Why forget simple features that no fan has ever seemed to forget? With how much work this would have required, as well as the Sonic Frontiers Footage, I think this leak is more likely to be real than fake. _Now,_ it's not impossible that this was just a tech demo or a proof of concept, and a Persona 3 Remake was never actually in the works, and all the rumors came from people seeing similar tech demos. This would explain why Yukari doesn't have her Evoker, or why they reused the Bow Asset from P5. Though many have said it, I don't believe this footage is from P5X, due to the different UI and the very different animation style. Considering the game has been in Beta, and no mention of P3/P4 characters have been made at all, I find it strange that P5X would have P3 characters in it _two_ years ago, but not now. As far as the spinoff idea, considering Atlus _knows_ that we want a P3 Remake, not a spinoff. I'd think that any Spinoff would come _after_ the remake, not before. My guess is that the Remake has been in the works, designed to release around the time of the anniversary, but Covid delayed it as well as P6 indefinitely, with fans expecting something from the Persona series for the anniversary, P5R/P4G was made available on modern consoles, as well as Non-Playstation consoles for the first time. Knowing that P3 fans would feel disappointment that their game was left behind, they made a port of Portable, not FES for two reasons: One, Portable has many features that modern Persona fans have come to expect, that the original and FES did not have and it would have been too much work to modify the original game to include them, without pretty much redoing the entire game. Two, Portable has the Female MC route, which the Remake is unlikely to have -- Knowing that fans of FeMC would be disappointed that she wasn't in the remake, and trapped on the PSP/Vita and essentially forgotten. They made the decision to port Portable, using AI Upscaling rather than putting much development time into this port and adding only the bare minimum of new features. This port, clearly didn't take much time or effort to make, and they released it on the same day as P4G, obviously because they knew it wouldn't stand out on its own as a release. It's also possible that the themes of P3 were considered too heavy to be released during the pandemic, considering the game is about people growing apathetic to the world around them, essentially desiring the world to end -- Many people may have felt that, it would be inappropriate to release a game with these themes while many are still suffering the effects of Covid. The pandemic hasn't gotten much better in Japan even today, and a game that many would want to escape into to forget about the troubles of real life, may end up only stinging more when they see that the game that was supposed to distract them from the depressing reality around them, was somehow even more bleak. Its one thing to re-release an old port that is mostly a visual novel, but if P3 Remake is made in the P5 engine, it'll be more immersive than the Visual Novel style of P3P could ever be, and it will no doubt reach a wider audience than a port of P3FES or P3P ever could. Of course, this is also to discuss that Covid has severely impacted most Japanese Studio's ability to make games in the first place. If the team is split into two, a P3R and P6 team -- Then the effects of Covid-19 have probably slowed both teams down considerably -- And both games would have to be delayed indefinitely, Atlus may have seen this and decided to cut or pause development of one of these two projects, and P6 is more likely the priority of the two. All this to say, where there's smoke, there's fire. There is, or was definitely _something_ in the works, and the recent domain registration is pretty much a sighting of the actual flames. I'd also like to point out that Atlus announced a P3 line of merchandise immediately after this whole thing broke out -- Almost as if they saw the hype, and decided to capitalize on it, rather than try and snuff out any fires. I won't say that we are _going to get a P3 Remake,_ but -- Given everything, and the timing of this all, I wouldn't be _surprised_ if one just _happened_ to be announced in the next couple months.

P3 FES is my second favourite game of all time, so I'm going to be a little bit excited if this is real, to say the least. But for now, I'm going to assume all this is fake, just because I couldn't possibly handle the utter devastation that would come from believing it if it is fake lmao But if this thing is real catch me crying and hyperventilating during the announcement trailer

Probably an unpopular opinion but if there is a remake that only includes the male route I hope they scrap a couple of the original social links and retool some of the FEMC ones in their place, like the male party members and Ryoji. Most of what is replaced was pretty inconsequential except maybe the OG justice and strength but justice could probably fit into the student council and strength into the chariot anyways like how FEMC's chariot included OG strength, chariot, star (referenced) and Magician. Also keep P3P's small nods to P4, those were cool without feeling too forced and I love little connections to those games that make them feel a little more like a duology.

Of course this information is coming out just as I'm getting back into P3P (since I took a somewhat lengthy break to tackle newer releases), nice to see people excited and actually have more context about what I could be seeing in the future.

While I’m still a little unsure about the remake actually being a thing, I’ll be very excited if it’s real. The only thing I think I’ll be sad about is that Vic most likely won’t get to voice Junpei. His performance in that role is really great and I’ll greatly miss the ace detective

Considering I just got into the series in February playing the P3P port on game pass. I'm HYPED. The fact that the poorly ai upscaled version of the arguably stripped down version of the game managed to grab me so much speaks volumes about the writing. If this remake is good it might actually topple okami from being my favorite. Where it's been for almost a decade.

I’m wondering if that Yukari clip isn’t her co-op attack? I do really hope they include the FEMC as I really enjoy playing as her and I would love to see her character more fleshed out and fully realized in the remake (with cutscenes). I do hope if they include fusion spells, they make it like it is in FES bc grinding for gems to make fusion spells is so annoying 😭😭 I’m excited to see what else they add to make the experience fresh! I am craving to play the answer portion of the postgame, so I hope there’s some remnants of that in there as well 🙏🙏

Hey, Sonic fan here. And in case you don't already know, that is definitely legitimate beta footage. There was a leak that happened for Sonic Frontiers (or Sonic Rangers as it was internally codenamed) that described the game. Not only did it eventually lineup mostly with the final release, but changes made to the final game from the described beta can be observed in the leaked footage. For instance, note the lack of springs, boost pads, and grind rails in the leaked footage. That was changed after internal reception to the beta was incredibly poor, as the world was originally mostly devoid of platforming challenges and comprised itself almost exclusively of barren terrain and enemies to fight. The reason so many elements of Frontiers' final release feel so haphazard is because they were last-minute editions meant to respond to that feedback.

The twitter account that leaked the footage actually got deleted about 5-6 hrs ago. So its possibly a troll or Atlus may have a hand for its deletion.

I think it is coming, im still hesitant to genuinely be hyped or really hope but I think so... God I cant wait :D

the only issue i see with that small clip of Yukari is what attack would she be doing there? she has her persona behind her and doing a multi-shot attack with her bow with glowing arrows, i dont remember anything like that from P3 so unless the characters are getting their own personal skill separate from their personas', something similar to showtimes and stuff from P5R, then id be more convinced that this would be more of a spin-off similar in vain to P5 Strikers with the more action based Dynasty Warriors style combat and that this is one of her special attacks. but only time will tell.

If this does happen, everyone needs to buy this game (twice) if we are to ever have a chance of seeing a sequel. Free door-kun!

the p3p port could also be something like a ff7 situation where the p3 remake is more of a sequel that pretends to be a remake at first so they wanted a version of the game that had the original's story out there for people who want to experience it and (this is just me guessing im not a game dev) p3p was probably the easier one to port due to how simpler it is. i might just be coping because i like ff7r and something like that for p3 would be cool in my opinion due to it potentially continuing the elizabeth plot line from p4au and maaaybr could touch on the lasting effects of p5r. idk i'd just think it would be neat

Would it be neat if we got a remake? Yeah. But other than the leak, which is complete unnamed and an anonymous DM apparently, the other evidence is pretty limited. I'll stick with it all being fake unless we get an official announcement. The pessimist in me is telling me that none of this is real.

Some notes about the Sonic Frontiers information that helps put into context why everyone finds it so credible: In the final version of the game, not only are there less particle effects and such than seen here (likely because of the switch but tbh this would be crazy for most systems), but most importantly, the first island of the game (Kronos Island) was split into three different islands in the final game (Kronos, Rhea, Ouranos) because they lacked the dev time to work on the back half of the game. The footage shown here shows the original, completed Kronos, with bits of Ouranos that were removed visible in the distance. Of the two enemies shown, the miniboss (Caterpillar) matches what was previously shown off in the artbook for the game, but wasn't present in this form in the final version. The other boss, Giganto, is drastically different from the final version and matches descriptions from early playtesters much better

I really do want a proper way to experience P3 with all the QOL updates. I had to really push to finish the PS2 version, because despite emulating with the Control All Party cheat, I found the harem stuff, the jealousy mechanic, and the Party Members getting tired really hindered my enjoyment. And if the hint I'm getting is true, it makes financial/development sense to want to just stick to one route, the canon MaleMC route. But...gah, I'd be so sad if they did. FemMC has been my favorite Persona protagonist (solidified with her characterization in Q2), and it would break my heart a little not to see her again ;-;

I think all of this evidence is very much leaning into it being a possibility. And I’m glad you brought up the portable port! I was initially on the fence/denying a remake would be happening due to the port just coming out, but then I thought harder and it hit me! “They released a port so people could have portable’s content, the remake will most likely be FES and only Makoto’s route.” As someone who had been holding off on P3 in all forms due to the rumors (and life, along with my huge backlog) I’m a little hesitant on how I feel about it. :( I really wanted to play as the FEMC, but don’t know if I have the time or energy to play through all of a remake AND portable with so little info, and no indication of if FEMC will be playable or any other changes. For myself and many others in my circles, it’s hard to justify. Guess I’ll wait and see.

I actually heard about this rumor earlier, and it got me a little excited. Will it happen? I REALLY HOPE SO. It is not a perfect game, and some bosses make me want to tear my hair out, but the story has such staying power that I have played both the original and the fem route at least twice. The visual novel take I actually did not mind either. Also, it makes me sad that persona 1 and 2 effectively do not exist to the majority of people, since the first half of P2 hooked me well and good, which in turn made me want P1 too. Let us hope one day our dream will happen! :)

I've been pretty hopeful about it since reading rumors about the remake being in the works sometime back, I've only played P3 fairly recently, wasn't much of a fan of JRPGs before giving P5 a try January this year and man... P3's story really captivated me, to the point where playing other story games feels kinda... Wrong? Even P4G which a lot of people constantly praise didn't really hook me. Probably because of the themes surrounding the game which I guess it's a classic case of "relatable™" to me and my situation in life for years now like dealing with depression, apathy towards myself but still caring about people around me, not coping with losing my mother 2 years later, etc, etc. As for that clip, the only thing I'm worried about is how Yukari summoned(?) her persona, she seemed to be using a Garu skill but it looks like she lacks the S.E.E.S armband and Evoker/Holster, I hope they don't change the summoning method, I get it that it's a little edgy but it suits the game so well.

I'll be honest, the reason I haven't played either version of P3 is because of the ridiculous differences in quality and content between them as well as how dated it is. If there's a remake of P3 that comes to PC I will gladly buy it.

This is a no brainer. Atlus is definitely going to remake this game soon. Hopefully they make changes where its appropriate and add new characters and personas (possibly add femc). It would be an instant hit guarenteed to make money. It will happen eventually.

1 important detail that i saw mentioned on twitter was that if the leaked footage comes from an internal meeting, it's likely the gameplay shown is more of a proof of concept for management/investors/directors rather than work from a project in development. just helps to tailor expectations.

the yukari clip does look a biiiiit like the brief clip of combat we have seen from p5x. just saying that could also be it since the gacha very well may have yukari as a pull.

The leaked yukari footage could very well be P5X footage. Leaks of legacy persona being featured in the game have recently surfaced and we know how free to play games are, legacy characters could be in it. If it is the case it’s Japanese footage which means the game may be outside of just China. Another possibility is it looks A LOT like modded fire emblem gameplay tbh.

Perhaps a P4, P1, or both P2s could become a reality or something along the lines.

I honestly assumed that the Yukari shooting clip was only a reveal that Yukari is going to be added to the new Persona Phantom X gatcha game. I don't want to get too excited because of that

On one hand, I find the amount of effort put into the leak to be far beyond any single or small group of fan just trying to make some waves, and the need to created EVERYTHING for the leak, Sonic included, lends credence to its validity. On other hand, I have seen fan absolutely autism out over their fandoms and create things that put AAA to shame, so a reasonable doubt still remains.

I'm trying my best to not get hyped so as to avoid being disappointed but with all the pieces of information you've gathered, especial the short gameplay clip that's clearly using new assets we hadn't seen yet and Gematsu's comments it's hard not to believe this remake is real

It would be such a misstep to remake Persona 3. The gameplay of Persona 1 and 2 is what turns so many new fans off. If they remade one of those, that's an entire new set of characters to milk or merchandise. I'm talking from a pure business perspective but also what I would prefer. I don't believe any PS2 game NEEDS to be remade. FES is my 3rd favorite Megami Tensei game behind Nocturne and Strange Journey and I think the PS2 models have a lot of charm to them.

great video! P3 remake has been my most wished anything from the gaming industry in like...a decade? Suffice to say that I'm more than excited about all of these indicators of it potentially being real. The whole thing reminds me of the Konami / Silent Hill rumourmill over the last years. Over time more and more rumours kept snowballing until it was just unfathomable that there wasn't a fire producing all that smoke. I don't think we're quite there yet, but most definitely on a similar path.

Awe man I really hope they include the female protagonist too if this is real. I just finished my first play-through of 3 on my switch a few weeks ago. As a woman, having a female protag in a Persona game was a game changer! Plus, Shinji 😏

A few years ago my friends and I composed a team to have a tech demo of a P3 Remake, this was unofficial completely separate from ATLUS, after we were shunned from the modding community. If Atlus were to create an official, remake for P3FES, with our proposed improvements, it would be a dream come true.

There’s a part of me that doesn’t believe the remake is real because I don’t see why Altus would want to release another persona 3 port after they just released persona 3 portable. It’s not even confirmed whether if Altus had already developed the remake port before persona 3 portable was released for modern platforms.

Even if a remake IS happening, it won’t be worth the disc it’s printed on if Vic gets replaced.

If they can combine P3P and P3 FES with 3D overworld AND FEMC availability, I would totally double dip and buy it again. I kind of dropped P3P halfway because I just couldn’t get invested in the visual novel style. I got used to it but I didn’t find it very engaging.

This reminds me of the time Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS were leaked and everyone was trying their best to disprove all those leaks (especially the roster) In this case the Yukari footage is the one eveyone use to disprove the leak, since she is using her Persona without the evoker, but she doesn't technically use her Persona, for me it looks much of a buffed state the game gives you as a reward, similar to the Showtime attacks in Royal, like the Persona appears behind you as a way of showing your "strengthen spirit" or something like that, you are not technically using it

Playing & stream P3F lately and while I'm still early on I'm enjoying it. That being said if/when the remake gets announced or officially revealed, I'm gonna look forward to it as I'm really enjoying the element Persona 3 has. (And to see it look as gorgeous on modern day tech)

My guess is Persona 3 The Azure or whatever is gonna be a full blown remake of Persona 3's main story (no female MC, no The Answer episode... kind of like the movies). It's gonna surpass P5R in terms of graphics and gameplay and will have brand new anime cutscenes plus a lot of in-engine action (a la Royal as well). It wouldn't surprise me the female MC campaign coming later as DLC. If not (and supposing The Asnwer episode doesn't get the DLC treatment either) that's the "lack of content" we could not be liking... I'm totally fine with it, though. I'd rather amplify, improve, deepen, etc. the main story and everything you can do in it instead of a lot of half baked content.

Persona 3 definitely needs a remake but only if they're gonna put all the content in one place. If they're not gonna do that then just re-releasing p3fes would be just as good.

Considering this in Combat footage where is yukaris evoker ,normally on her right leg but its just straight up not there ? She has always had one since the first cutscene of p3 even when shes not using a persona its normally holstered. its the only thing that dosent sell i for me so for now im gonna with fake until Properly confirmed by an official source im just so tired of chasing after these rumourmills for so many damn games . And keep in mind persona 3 fes is my fave persona game of all time even more than 5 and the rest so i want this just as badly as anyone else.

While I doubt this existence of the remake, I'm still hopeful for an ACTUAL remake of Persona 3. One that hoepfully adds FEMC and her story to this remake. And hopefully, they'll fix that Ken Social link. We all know that it's wrong. We'll just wait and see, I guess.

Knowing Atlus, they'll probably just lock the FeMC route behind DLC for the Remake (if either exists)

I love FES and have been desperately hoping for a remake for many years. All the recent evidence doesn't make me anymore hopeful than I was. I feel like Atlus has a very good business sense which it needs to survive in the current day. They have been testing the waters for a while and working on multiple projects over the past few years. I will keep waiting and hoping for a remake as I throw my money at them haha
