They just use the term to be condescending. Their expectation and it is what they are taught, go to any LE convention and the breakout sessions, is that when a LEO approaches or is in the vicinity of Joe private citizens in their eyes your rights are temporarily suspended, take that to the bank. Ask any one of them, they believe that license gives them that level of authority. We see their authority as a privilege; they see it as absolute.
Ask then what their oath stated when they signed on, if it comes with any consequences and repercussions for being a willful and eager badged terrorist.
There is no such thing as Sovereign Citizens. The term is an oxymoron. The proper term is American National or State National. It is a recognized status by the United States Department of State. There is actually a do not arrest, do not detain, do not interrogate list if you have properly and lawfully established your status and standing as a non-resident alien American National.
David, you’re right. But this wasn’t a traffic stop. Reba was inside an indoor storage unit building, her brother was entering and exiting, doing normal storage activity. They weren’t under any lawful obligation to identify because no crime was committed, although the lying cop claimed he had “reasonable suspicion of “trespassing.” As ridiculous as that sounds, they had key access and proved it to that goon of a so-called cop. The demand for identification under threat of arrest was a clear 4th Amendment violation. Although Reba’s brother “voluntarily” surrendered his I.D. to appease the cop, his EGO refused to allow Reba to not acquiesce. He COMPELLED her to identify with the threat of arrest…essentially using the Color of Law to violate her Civil Rights. Although she refused to be bullied into allowing them to violate her, she STILL has a very credible lawsuit against that P.D. Once they conduct an Internal Affairs investigation and ultimately (typically…🤬) find “No Wrongdoing” on Orifice-r Lehnert’s part, she can file her legal case against the Nashville P.D., should she choose to take legal action against them…
@@twoblacklabs904 Your assessment of how the investigation will go is accurate. Nothing will happen. They are well trained at intimidating you into iD everyone at the scene by any means. The office of police performance is even better trained at justifying police actions as legal and within police policy. Coercion is part of policing!
Just a side note: I HATE when people say "this is not a stop and ID state" Even in a stop and ID state, they have to have RAS to get ID. So, nothing changes in a stop and ID state
You’re right, but the reason people say “this is not a stop a stop-and-id state” is because in those states cops will often arrest you for failing to ID first and then make up RAS after the fact. In non stop-and-id states it’s slightly harder to arrest someone for failure to ID if there’s no obligation to identify on RAS alone. In stop-and-ID states all cops have to do is recite the magic words “in this day and age”, “furtive movements”, “high crime area”, and “we got a call”. Just like that they have fabricated and false RAS for every and any situation.
In all 50 states' not a single one is a stop and ID STATE. Though some states have exceptions, you would have to qualify for those exceptions to be applied!
@@rickkeys2345 There are 23 "stop and ID" states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Wisconsin. But all that means is that police need reasonable, articulatable suspicion that you have committed, are in progress of committing, or about to commit a crime. There are no US states where a cop can stop you just to identify you.
Well done Reba. No one should ever be lied to and making it policy isn't legal when the term "Officers of the Court" says they are to be honest. ( Officer of the court, Any person who has an obligation to promote justice and uphold the law, including judges, clerks, court personnel, police officers, and attorneys (who must be truthful in court and obey court rules).
So this is the end of the investigation by the Office of Professional Responsibility? Yea (sarcasm) for Nashville….another tyrant just doing his job while training other officers. Four cops in total plus a telephone time from a “supervisor“ all tied because of a nonsensical whim of a training officer. I just watched a distraught widow on the local Nashville TV tonight pleading for the identification of the person or persons involved for shooting and killing her husband in an apparent road rage incident Christmas night. The murder that has gone unsolved and now is probably cold. No cop time by patrol units to ferret out leads to a killer but plenty of manpower to browbeat an ordinary citizen who, and the officer-in-charge readily admitted, was doing nothing wrong.
I'm so glad you're following up! You're doing this for all of us. LE behavior like this just shouldn't be tolerated. When I was watching the video, I was afraid they were going to physically hurt you.
The Internal Affairs Detective on the phone seems awfully casual about his Police Department’s patrol officers being such blatant thuggish Civil Rights VIOLATORS. Lehnert was an absolute Authoritarian GOON…and they trust him to be a Training Officer? Disgusting…
Agreed! In addition to all the civil rights violations, he violated his own policy multiple times by failing to contact a supervisor. And there is no way he was allowed to say he'd call a supervisor only after violating your 4th amendment right to not have your identity siezed for no reason. He also threatened to extend your kidnap if you didn't ID - from unlawful detention to unlawful arrest. This would be a slam dunk lawsuit. He had no right to ID. Period.
Thanks Reba, please keep us updated on your progress with this, thankfully you got a good internal affairs officer. You could actually hear that he knew the clown screwed the pooch on this Love your content thanks 👍✌️🇨🇦
@brookecameron9680 Sadly, I'm not going to hold my breath on that wait time. I would definitely turn many shades of blue. But I truly hope that you are right.
We appreciate you following up too many people don’t . If it’s an official complaint at least there’s a paper trail . Everyone needs to film police interactions ( without putting themselves at risk of course ) The very fact they are being filmed by 3rd parties may make the police think twice before escalating or violating someone’s rights you might just save someone’s life . An independent record of an incident may show important evidence . We often see police say you don’t need to record we have bodycams that record everything. But we all know that police videos can get redacted blurred out have stuff edited out muted or their videos can get conveniently “Lost” or suffer “ technical “ issues . They don’t like videos they can’t “ control “.
I'm glad that you pursued this. He shouldn't be a police officer, much less training new officers. BTW, there is no such thing as a stop and ID state. The cops must have AT LEAST reasonable, articulable suspicion that a crime is afoot, is about to occur, or has occurred. The term "reasonable" has a legal definition. It can't just be based off a call or an assumption. A "stop and ID state" implies that there are states that allow police to ID anybody they want, and while many cops feel that way, there are no such states.
I have always liked your attention to detail. Your calmness and forthright abilities make you stand out in the civil rights activism community. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching.
If you don’t sue him and the department, this outrageous behavior will continue to happen. All he’ll receive - at best - from his own department is a 1 to 3 day paid vacation and he’ll go right back to his same corrupt ways.
I don't know who you were talking to and he may just be trained extremely well but he also sounded genuine, listened well, got all the information correct and sounded like he actually wanted to help. I obviously reserve the right to change my mind with future contrary evidence 🤣 but kudos to him for being very professional. Credit where it's due.
@paulbrown7354 : The sincerity/caring in his voice is the result of training. When he starts to lose those qualities in his voice, he'll be retrained, probably for a different position within the ranks of the department. Think in terms of OFC. LEHNERT, but with the rank of CPL., SGT., or LT. .
Much respect for filing a complaint. At least it starts a jacket on this thug. Try to find an attorney that will take this on a contingency basis. The video does all the work for an attorney.
In the state where I live in Australia we have what is called LEPRA Law Enforcement Professional Responsibilities Act. If they behaved like this over here in our state they are committing offences themselves.
Following through is more important than the audit itself. Having it on video is so important. People just fail the need to do so but you prove it! It’s nice to see someone who not only knows their rights but is willing to loose his/her freedoms to protect them for all of us!
This cop on the phone is completely jerking her around. He’s acting stupid for a reason. I can barley watch this as he’s treating her like she’s doesn’t know what she’s doing. But I know you are holding these cops (fools) accountable!! Nice work.
I like your dialog. "This is about your ego", "get your supervisor because they're better than you, that's what they're for", and more. You're one of the excellent natural auditors.
Reba, I love Sean at LIA, but when you're on your game, there's nobody better than you. I just wish you would audit more. I would love to see you and Accountability Angel do one together.
Good job Reba the paper trail and the hoops your jumping though can only help others down the line the complaint will follow Lehnert so people know hes a bad apple hope to see the body cam footage soon
This cop clearly has NO understanding of Civil Rights! He should NEVER train other cops. Moreover, his actions toward citizens indicates contempt for citizens that exercise their rights. He is a danger to free citizens in a free society!
Now do a FOIA for the officers jacket ie you want to see any complaints filed against that officer from any one. then publish his salary you can get that too they really really hate that.
I am a new subscriber and big fan from Albany, Georgia. The officer who took the complaint seemed to be very nice and professional. Please keep us updated with this. Good luck!
It's a 14 th amendment violation threatening to take to jail. Shou.d NOT be in a position of training officer if he doesn't understand stand Terry vs Ohio. Reasonable Articulaticuable Suspicion Of A Crime, if he c ontinues this behavior he going to cost that jurisdiction a law suit, plus how can you expect the officer being trained to do the right thing in the future. Getting ID is like a Crack addict Getting his next hit. Your FTO needs retraining.
This thug needs to be terminated and then charged with civil rights violations. It is not a training issue. That department has wasted how many hundreds of thousands of dollars on that idiot thug and he proves he is too stupid and evil to learn to do it legally and right. And yes, a lawsuit will remind the department there was wrongdoing!
As usual and in all probability it will be found that nothing was amiss with the cops actions, but I have to give kudos to the stunt the department plays by employing the tactics of that internal affairs guy: all understanding, very polite and accommodating, which is supposed to give one the feeling that one’s complaint is in good hands and will be dealt with the appropriate application of rules and policies… whereas reality paints a vastly different picture of practise and outcomes. The best part of this video however, is Reba’s lovely accent and that for 18 minutes!!!
IMPORTANT: on this case and all other cases......"we have investigated ourselves and we've found that our wonderful angel cops have not done anything wrong" and you can take that to the bank
The person working at Internal Affairs was awesome, highly professional and knew how to help the public. This is the best IA interaction I have ever seen! Great job Reba, we love you and the job you do on our behalf! Please keep up the good work!
Well I have long island audits & B.A.T. as my favorite,s but I found my 3rd favorite in 51-50-50 you go Reba your a top notch veteran & we the people appreciate you.
I was watching that video that the thug cop was pulling his violation of both your rights. Glad you filed a complaint. Let us know what happens. I’ve watched a lot of your previous videos and I think your badass. I wish you would quit smoking cause I love ya ,.❤
I am betting he gets a couple days off with pay and then a promotion. They will investigate themselves and find no wrongdoing. Nothing to see here people, move along.
Thank you for following through. There are some who don't share the process. You are awesome. If my husband allowed me, I'd be right out there doing what you do.
@@brookecameron9680InaPigsEar BC myself. And I rode my motorcycle across that gigantical bridge of yours in what seemed like a whole gale - never again. Wonderful place, that PEI
Any more on the complaint? Return calls? I'm getting a smell of this thug never even filling out an incident report. Either that or the IA Lt was trying to jack you along. I can't imagine their database being so antique as to not be able to type T. LENHERT and the date and every incident he had that morning not popping up. I found him having an unsustained complaint for rudeness took me about a minute.
Hi Reba, San Joaquin Valley Transparency says hi. Have a very merry Christmas 🎄 and a hsppy new year. Thank you for educating the ignorant and challenging the liars. Bastards. Kind regards from Perth, Australia.
To allow Cops like this to continually behave like this totally destroys any benefit they get from community engagement units/activities. And let's not act like the department doesn't know the officers that routinely act like this. They are kept on the force due to the support of the "Thin Blue Line" gang mentality.
