Really appreciating this series! Can't wait to get a resin printer to dabble with it

I've often pondered the non-filleted holes in life... Those are the one's you REALLY have to watch out for...

You can scale down your lure, create thicker walls and scale the model up with some simple calculations.

Correct but thicker walls = a lot more weight with SLA...

What strength have your noticed from pla to SLA resin, pros and cons. I know for longevity SLA tends to become brittle/crack along layers. Pla can have different buoyancy from moisture absorption. Curious to hear your input on this!

Assuming both are finished with paint and an epoxy clear coat... PLA is much less dense and thus lighter weight than SLA. SLA prints don't really work well with traditional FDM infill type patterns because uncured resin will get trapped in those areas (yes there are ways around it but it is a decent amount of effort.) So the SLA lures I have made tend to have thinner walls to keep the weight down. If you however want a heavy lure that still floats SLA is a winner. SLA resins will absorb moisture and start to break down so they need to be coated. In my experience they are pretty tough but that totally depends on the resin you use, Siraya Tech Blu Nylon Black is what I have found works the best. Hard lures are a toss up for me between PLA and SLA. With SLA you can get a lure right off the printer that is properly weighted and pretty much ready to go outside of paint and clear. PLA you need to do more work but you have a lot more flexibility in terms of the build of the lure, weights, through wire, rattles etc....

I may have missed this on a previous video, but what resin are you printing in? I'd think the majority are much too brittle. Maybe adding some Tenacious for flex. Also, let's see those circumsized pixels!

I have been using Siraya Tech Fast with great results so far, It does require you to get your pilot holes pretty close to the correct size. Adding Tenacious to anything is usually a good idea! I am working on sorting out a good resin/blend to use but I still have a lot of work to do on that...
