Tutorial for squaremill weaving. A fun and creative way to upcycle plastic coffee bags into durable and functional baskets and bags.
For the weaving you need:
- empty coffee bags
- paper or cardboard
- a pen
- scissors
- clothespins or other clips
To join woven pieces, you need:
- string (e.g. gift wrapping string)
- a needle (I use 25 cm long Prym mattress needle: www.empressmills.co.uk/mattre...)
- scissors
Size of the strips: 15,3 x 7,2 cm (calculate according to the bags that you use)
Width of the folded strip: ~2,4 cm
You need 56/162 strips for the example projects.
Size of the basket:
Height: ~ 12,5 cm
Base: ~ 15 x 15 cm
Size of the bag:
Height: ~ 27,5 cm
Base: ~ 15 x 30 cm
