The problem with Russian is every part of speech needs to be conjugated. In Spanish it is only verbs. Lots and lots of rules in Russian. No wonder Russian people play Chess so good.

It's great that you spent time on "hello" (Здравствуйте) zdrastvoyte (but it's pronounced zdrastvoytYA) as hearing those subtle and nuanced syllables near each other (even at .25 playback) is hard!!)

Why the "o" sometimes sounds like an "a"?
@user-zd1zq4wu8d
@user-zd1zq4wu8d 7 лет назад
when the accent on the letter "o" is pronounced like "o" in other cases, almost always pronounced as "ah" if it is difficult, pronounce as it is written, that will be ok
@tsoiyuenwa95
@tsoiyuenwa95 7 лет назад
Carlos Rincon It depends on the stress, if the stress is not on "o", it pronounces "a". Hope it can help u! :)

Hello Carlos Rincon, Because in accordance with Russian pronunciation rules, [o] in unstressed position should be pronounced as [a]. Team RussianPod101.com

It is true that learning Russian can help with learning other languages. However, I have been learning Chinese for many years and I say that learning Russian will not help in learning Chinese, with the exception of using different word orders in a sentence.
@user-zd1zq4wu8d
@user-zd1zq4wu8d 7 лет назад
as russian I can tell you that the word orderin a sentence doesn't matter я еду на машине = еду я на машине = на машине еду я = еду на машине я :)

I don't get why at 14:35 the meaning doesn't become Mice eat cats? In otherwords, how would you write 'Mice eat cats' in Russian if doing so means 'Cats eat mice'

Is there a reason why months, ethnicities, languages, and pronoun for "I" in Russian not capitalized?
@saptaccrvima3563
@saptaccrvima3563 7 лет назад
Not capitalising in Croatian is normal, so is in Russian. Although in Croatian, ethnicities are capitalised. So, it's normal in Slavic languages
@volodymyr7214

а зачем их писать с заглавными буквами? Мы удивляемся почем вы пишете их так.
