@@jamesdaly611 But Lizzie McGuire would've been outdated by then. The GBA was perfect because it was the closest system at the time, unless it came out in 2004, then I could understand, because that's when the DS first came out.

I guess this is why the game is labeled as shovelware. It has literally nothing to do with the show except the characters. Disney didn't do games for girls very good back then. It's like they just up and thought: iconic girl character + shovelware game = profit.

While is true that this is not a flagship game (like Zelda or Kirby) or that are some better licensed games (like Phineas DS)... I don't think this game is remarkably bad. It's just short. And there is the loose use of the license. But it's fun, has decent graphics/art and has solid controls/gameplay along all the minigames. And maybe that doesn't look like much against another flagship games, but it's actually a lot better than many other licensed games

I mean there are worse licensed games out there, like the infamous iCarly game on the Wii (the version that everyone points to when the word "shovelware" is used). I'm not bashing over this game. I just find it very strange that some things in this game didn't happen in the source material (like I've listed some days ago) like it's a non-canon experience or something. Not bad, just strange. Also, shovelware wasn't always a bad thing for games, but then the developers took people not minding shovelware as "we can NOT care about our fans and just push out whatever game we want as long as it's got cool characters on the box" and that's why now games like that sucks. I used the Phineas and Ferb game series as an example because, while they are 3D platformers, they put a spin on it by making you feel like you're in a Phineas and Ferb episode. It's not shown that's it's made with lazy or shady intentions. This game does have some creative moments, like the food serving minigame near the end or the moped segments, so at least I can give them the benefit of the doubt for trying.

It's not out of the ordinary for games of the era. Harry and Ron didn't have magical duels with animated washing machines and lawn mowers in the Chamber of Secrets either. Like all show/movie-to-game adaptations of the time, they had to either embellish source material or completely invent a new game for what it represented. This was especially true of GBC and GBA games like this & the above mentioned Chamber of Secrets. Look at the Spongebob games as well, they're either entirely new content that never happened in the show (lights camera pants, yellow avenger,) or heavily embellished (The Movie). If this game had followed the show, it wouldn't have had any sort of substance beyond embellished content (like the camping episode in season 1 could feature Lizzie battling the boys with water guns, that's really all you could do in terms of game mechanics). Ultimately, as Wyxan said, sure this isn't a flagship game, but as a tv show/movie adaptation, it's actually pretty good & whilst the levels featured don't relate to events in the episodes or movie, not a lot of adaptations at the time did. All I can remember is really loving this game & it being one of the few games that got me into gaming back when I was about 7-8, it stopped my dad from telling me "no we can't buy that game, it's for boys" back in the day! @@siyahseeker
