I think Super Smash Bros Brawl deserves a honorable mention: In a stage, Solid Snake can call someone to analyze the fighter. The character called varies for the fighter he’s fighting. The character he calls is either Colonel Roy Campbell, Otacon or Mei Ling. In one of them, Snake will try to call Campbell, only to be answered by… Slippy Toad from Star Fox! If Snake dies during the discussion, the one he called will react to his death the exact same way than in Metal Gear Solid. The only Smash original is Slippy’s, for obvious reasons.
