I'm 36 I've been playing piano my whole life. And I'm learning so much. This is awesome. Its 5 AM here in Chicago and I'm glued to the TV with my keyboards having a blast learning everything that I missed. Much appreciation and respect!
Like some others, I have always wanted to play piano and the COVID-19 was my catalyst. I borrowed my son’s keyboard and started with an app. Then I came across your video. I was amazed at you teaching technique. Your information was so well presented and easy to follow. I really devoured it. Learning the secrets of vibrations I have loved all my life. What joy you have brought to me and countless others. Thank you! Thank you! I am 74 years old.

hmmm only three months. I was never taught that much in three months. this is a bigger summary than three months. If you all this and can use it I'd call you a pianist. I already play classical guitar and I think honestly it will take a year of practicing this until you really know it. they say you need to do something 10000 times for it to be memory in your fingers. I can vouch for it. it takes a few weeks for each exercise but it's fun joining stuff together and experiment and it makes your fingers feel really flexible. Ive been doing pentes and scales in c g f and chord arpeggios. Im up to about 7000 times but i really don't have to think to make both hands do it together. It really feels like achieving something when you go back to the music each time is is noticeably easier . you do really need to put time in. in the beginning I think. It makes it easier in the long run.
My God I've been playing guitar for almost 30 years and always found theory to difficult with the whole circle of 5ths thing and now I finally get it I know music theory you have made my life complete and I've only been playing piano for 3 months ty soooooo mich you sir are the best teacher ever you saved me thousands in lessons not to mention all the years of frustration to learn theory ive watched countless videos about this and never made sense to me 2 hours of my life best 2 hours ever spent ty ty ty you are a great teacher god bless you if I ever i could repay you plz let me know
omg this is happening to me right now! i'm 39 years old! i'm so freakin amped dude,! i finally understand what i've been TRYing to do with my guitar for the last 20 years! ha! music is love

Are you sure? I am asking because I can play songs by looking RU-vid videos( but I don't know any chords means if someone says to play b minor, I can't. But, if they are in a song tutorial I can) I am considering enrolling myself to a professional course and that's the reason I ask that. Are you sure or is it because you already had your 4 years of knowledge accumulated, and it's a good video to just brush up on your skills? Please do reply...
@@Rajat-Sharma1 Learning professionally is all fine and dandy, just dont pay too much for it as most music theory and piano knowledge can be learned online for free through pdf and videos
@@Rajat-Sharma1 its best to have a professional teach you rather than self learning through RU-vid, it will be worth your money for someone to teach you, this means you have someone to guide you and ask questions to.
@@jannmitchelle123 yes even I was thinking the same. This video is just for getting thorough with the concepts one knows and not for someone who's a beginner. This is something which I can use to get a clear idea of concepts taught in the lecture.😄

Took me 6 days to finish this course and I’m very satisfied. I now have a better understanding of music theory for a piano. I will be watching the 8 hour course next. Much respect.
This has got to be the most useful way anyone could ever spend 3 hours. I played piano from the time I was 4 until I was 10 and then stopped (which I have regretted for so long now). This video taught me so much more than I have ever known about the piano and how to play it. I am 22 years old now and started fresh with this video after not playing for 12 years and I feel confident now to continue playing and learning. Thank you so much for this and for your time making these videos. I am excited to continue learning!!!
Something I noticed that I've never heard anywhere else - the arrangement of the black keys represents the major scale's intervals itself. Black keys represent 2, the space between them represents 1. Starting from the two black keys you then get the pattern 2212221. The major scale. The new player then needs not worry about committing the intervals to memory right away. They are right in front of you on the piano itself, as well as the modes if you find yourself stumbling over remembering how exactly where everything is shifting around.
I was up all night taking notes on this video and watching every ad (you truly deserve it). You did an absolutely amazing job at breaking it all down to make it simple to understand. This video is priceless. Thank you so so so much! Time to get some rest and enroll in your course when I wake up!!

You were just wonderful! I learned SO much! Now I just have to sit down at the piano and do all of the things that you taught. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
2:34:44 After finishing through this video, learning songs are a lot easier now that I just have to memorize the chords instead of individual notes! I would recommend going through this whole video in parts at your own pace for people just getting started with piano!
You're an excellent teacher! There are so many concepts that I was intimidated to learn for years and people often make it confusing. Thank you for breaking this down in a simple way!! Life changing
Ok, am now almost half way through this video and I am the new proud owner of a brain that finally learned the circle of fifths! I am 40 years old and I've looked at the damn chart at least a million times in my life and could never remember it. As soon as you suggested trying to learn it by looking at he keyboard instead, it suddenly clicked and it took me all but 5 minutes to have it jam-packed for he first time ever! Thank you so much! I've been doing this video a little bit everyday for about 3 days. You e much better than lessons I've paid for in the past! CHEERS!
I am a beginner and I have started a course from Udemy... Yeaz, I am going through the course deligently, but there's extraordinary information (online research) and not knowing where to put them or how to start off simply, with a strong foundation and/ or how to organize it as a whole. This video has opened my eye and has filled the gap... Thank you.🙏 I will finish this complete course honestly as a token of gratitude.🙏❤️🙏
39:05 I was in band, pep band & jazz band for 7 years in school and was never taught this simple trick with scales...this would have helped me so much. Wow.
i've been playing piano for 6 years, but never really learned music theory just how to read notes and play. now im gonna take AP music theory in school and I need to learn all this in few months lol
Its not that much or hard..... I have a decent understanding of music theory and every time i through my books to review im always disappointed at how little i actually know ._.
Love this. Going through it now. For me, it was easier counting W W W H W W W H. Which means incorrectly starting the Whole note count when pressing the first key. My brain didnt like pressing first and Then starting to count for some reason.
@@kanecanedy623 Because he would press the root note, and then AFTER start counting the pattern, i was a bit confused too. Its like you want to start counting from the second you press the key but have to tell yourself no, only after the first key you press.
Kane Canedy yeah its like , for intervals you start counting on the first key, but for the wwh pattern you don’t? It gets confusing in the beginning what you should count first and what you shouldn’t “
In 2021 March, I followed this video as I also read the music theory book...today I have come back to say thank you for putting together this video which step by step follows the standard music theory books. I never remained the same since then.

Hi Mark I am 73 and have been trying to learn the piano since parents sent me to a music teacher as a child. Recently tried a local piano teacher (who had an out of tune piano, my hearing is pitch perfect!) did not get on well with that either and have looked at several on line tutorials. I am a good learner provided I am given the right information, I am a retired design engineer so used to fine detail. Whatever I have tried, my problem has been what seemed to be "bits missing" or the information was not put across in a way to make it understandable. Classic example here is the circle of Fifths. What a tool this is provided you know how to use it. Well Thanks to you I now fully understand it and because of the way you put the learning across in your 3 hour video all the "missing bits" have all been solved. Music is no longer a mystery to me and when I am pressing keys I know why and what for. I can not Thank You enough for this video and all the effort and logic you put into it. Obviusly this one video is not the end of the story in learning but if someone watches it from end to end and as I did take notes and say they can still not undersatnd the theory, they never will! This is the Best LearningVideo Out There. Kind Regards Clive UK

Quick story, i got hospitalized a few days ago, and there was this lady who was in hospital with me, she has been playing the piano for 25 years. I told her that i play on the keyboard and its 8 months, i told her that i was learning to play Prelude in C Major from Bach, and she was almost going to beat me because Bach should not be played on a keyboard and i would have needed more time to play pieces like that. Obviously she was joking, but damn, classical pianist are always so strict.
@@mlggodzilla1567 lol yeah it's sacrilegious apparently I want to get into the classical music side of music since my highschool is showband style, my middle school was showband style, and I play pop music on my keyboard😅
Mark what you have done is priceless!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Have gone through 12 lessons today, because I know the basics already and you made certain things sooo clear. I wish you all the best things in life. I feel so grateful to you!
watched the whole thing and im very happy and i can just instantly recongnise the notes where im supposed to play after watching all of your theory courses
dude this helps so much thank you it's like a lightbulb finally switching on. I've watched other ppls videos who tried to shorten the explanation of music theory and while maybe if you have a general idea of what it is before hand you can understand and comprehend what they're saying-- otherwise you really miss key concepts and little details like how to count intervals properly being applied to a scale and not the format of the piano. I struggled a lot with this and key signatures so major thanks.
