Anything from Fuente, Perdomo, and a handful of boutique brands. I have a few close relationships with people in the industry, and I love their cigars, so it's hard to have just one favorite. How about you?

I smoke about 2 per day. Placencia sixto is my favorite. I own a lounge so i definitely like variety. Definition cigars is a really good boutique brand.
Hey bro, love your work. I converting a extra large China cabinet and I ordered 1/2 spanish cedar. I have a question I want to make my own shelves but I don't have much tools, also I want to use all spanish cedar for my shelves and not veneer, what size thickness can I use for my shelves?
For the cigar baskets i use 3/16 pieces. I normally use 3/4 veneered ply for the shelves mainly because i wont have to worry about wood movement, but if you want the shelves to be solid spanish cedar id probably go with the full 1/2in

Thank you so much for these videos! I have a humidor/whiskey cabinet to build and I’m learning so much from you. In a larger cabinet like this, is it best to put the electric humidifier at the bottom? I’m assuming a cabinet of this size needs more than one hygrometer, so you can monitor the humidity at all of the levels?
Yes definitely want multiple hygrometers. And i i prefer to put at bottom. But i think i may explore putting one in the top. Never really crossed my mind to do that. And thank you for the kind words.
@@DsHardWoodCreations Right now I’m in the process of working out the interior depth of the humidor portion of the build. I’ll admit, I don’t know that much about cigars (I’m learning, though!). Is there a standard size you like to do for the cigar baskets/shelves you put in your humidors? I love the slanted display style, and plan to incorporate that for this build.

Nice work! I’m building one about the same size. Question for you, are there hygrometers that mount on the front doors that measure temp and humidity inside the cabinet, or should I just get one and mount it inside? Orrr, just have one sitting on one of the shelves? Your suggestion?
My opinion the analog hygrometers look great but dnt work as accurately as the digital. So putting one on the door for me would be solely cosmetic. Id get digital ones on each shelf or maybe just one at bottom and one at top. And thank you for kind words.

@@BrananWard you could but spanish cedar is very soft so would be very easy to damage it. And like you said you cant really put any protection over it bc it would risk soaking into the wood to the inside and damaging cigars.

I do have another question about the spanish cedar used inside. I saw you glue it to the cabinet after you taped it together did you use brad nails also, and if not would it be a problem using brad nails for a cigar humidor?
You could use them. However u would want to turn the nailer down so it doesnt shoot through the thin sheets of cedar. Id still highly recommending using glue as well.
@@DsHardWoodCreations Thank you I was going to use glue for sure, I just wasn't sure if my glue job would hold since like you I don't have a way to clamp that big of an area, so I was just second guessing myself scared I wouldn't put enough pressure on it. They were 1/8-3/16in two reason was any thicker would of made it look too blocky since your glueing it to the ply which is already 3/4in. And then obviously to get the most from the 8/4 stock of spanish cedar. And its really all thats needed to get the effects you are looking for for the spanish cedar (maintain moisture and the aroma that repeals cigar beetles.

Yes that would work. Tray’s don’t hold much weight. U may want to put some cross support under them if u plan on putting boxes of cigars or if u make the treys bigger.
