What's up Mikey! So there are different versions of the program that you can apply for but for most of the CRP, or Conservation Reserve Program, you're essentially entering into an agreement to take row crop acres out of agricultural production. So in order to do that, obviously it has to be in production in the first place, which is where the crop history comes into play. In exchange for taking those out of production, the FSA pays you a yearly payment. Of course, I could just plant those acres to native grasses now, but I would lose out on an annual income opportunity. Hope that helps, feel free to let me know if you have other questions.

No problem! The annual clover was a mix of two reds and a crimson. The clover chicory blend was a mix of 4 different clovers and a chicory. Yep, for sure. They've been great to work with. Although, for my TSI this year, I wasn't able to utilize any cost share funds because the previous landowner used it a couple years ago.
