man this channel really blew up since being here since the 300 sub mark. im glad to see this as the content was and is always really good compared to other's
That high rise headset thing is just a big spacer that replaces the headset cover. Just makes it look cleaner if you need a lot of spacers for a long steerer tube
Hang on -- so you changed it from 160mm rear travel to 180mm, and put on a larger rear wheel? Did you take of the spring and check whether the rear wheel contacts the seat tube or seat on full compression? On the riding clips your rear wheel appears to be coming dangerously close to the front triangle on compressions.
I forgot to check the frame is $400 so not too worried about it. But you’re totally right. I did all of tests on the carbon Levo I sodomized with 29 wheel
love the video, super relevant for anyone who shops used bikes since the status is always there on marketplace at a low price. wondering if you’ll consider the next tier up in budget frames/bikes, which to me is the stumpy evo aluminum (the raw gray fade one looks pretty sweet) or an aluminum transition. they’re also fairly available on marketplace and i feel like consistently in the 2k ish range
With ALL due respect, you built the bike but then was irritated that everything rattled loose? I have this bike built from the factory and have completly abused it at North star bike park with out any issues.
Love the video, in my model the bike has 177mm of travel, I would watch out for the rear tire touching the seattube at bottom out though. The 29" wheel gets very close...
@@OtterMTBtech yes, I've checked it with Linkage 3X (highly recommend the software if you're interested in bikes) if you want I could give you a quick introduction to it
I have a playlist of Ebike’s. Spesh Kenevo SL: Upgraded and Examined ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hZ9LY2_5p1A.html This is the bike that made me not want one
My trails are tight without berms and steep, for me the mullet is a solution to longer bikes that are just a bit too big to make these hairpins+ bonus I find it very flickable & manualable while fkin around a jump trail... If I entered let's say a amateur DH or Enduro race I'd probably go with full 29. BTW a don't think we're flush with cash hanging here; I work from home and raise the kids my wife has the CEO position, I'm just a lapidary. Want some rocks? Nah not that type 😅
Geez! I expected way more from Specialized. My custom 2022 Stumpy EVO alloy has been a quiet bike. With that said, the internal routing ports near the head tube are starting to separate from the frame. Good choice on the Aggressor for the rear tire, but I would have gone with the 2.3-inch version.
I can see that you use Fox fork for the project. Is it better than DVO38 sl/ Super Z/ Zeb ??? Could you make comparison review based on your experience?
I have reviews of all the forks listed. Great idea to get them all in one. Make it simple here. Fox is comfort, super Z and Zeb pop and jump good, DVO blends that well. The DVO 38 SL is my choice, but I picked up that Fox 38 for $300 for the budget build. They all work well. Especially when they are stroked to 180.
wow i just stuck a 5mm allen key in the space with a stock shock, you dont even have 1mm clearance.. its a good thing its so stout in the back. when i got mine i test fit a 29 in the back as well because of pedal strikes, just have to be picky on tires . im a fatass too and getting the stock rear shock tuned is not too good, it came with a huge volume spacer in there.
Do you agree that modern Specialized painting jobs and overal look of the entire bikes become so trash simple if to compare with all other brands? I mean not the colour itself - but the finish quality and details...Few guys from my company bought the same frame, because of SALE price only...and their bikes looks like memes mockups bikes, like some kids from black district were running from cops and quickly spray paint that bike and put only Status logo using a cardboard pattern + black spray ))) All other marks on the bike are stickers...
I agree, the paint on the none gloss coat bikes are really bad. I swap shocks out and it peals up like in chunks from pulling the shock out. The Status paint is extra bad. Spesh bikes are cookie cutters for the masses, no progression in suspension so 100 lb rider in green trails can use them. My Spesh bikes rattle apart really bad. My Kenevo rattled itself to death with 5 cans of red lock tight in it, before even motor wore out. Waiting on warranty answer, 4 weeks for answer. Just say not happy. Then the fan boys will roll in and say they never had a bolt come loose.
