Your videos are very helpful. Can you make a video of exercises we can include in our daily vocal routine to go through all 4 modes. I think that will enable us to access these modes while singing any song naturally.
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 9 месяцев назад
Trouble with that is that the exercises conducive to finding a given mode will vary depending on the singer's style and current struggles, etc. Unfortunately there is no one-size fits all solution for quickly finding the modes. However, in the future I will make video series providing a guided progression through various skills including all those shown in this CVT series.

What’s the next step after finding twang and being able to go up in range on a specific vowel, but not the others? Eh is very easy and I find my range after getting rid of the nasality

thanks for this awesome videos. i struggle taking edge around E4 then it just goes to falseto and i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong :/

Try making adjustments to the loudness. Also, are you allowing the larynx to rise as you go up in pitch?

Hey Cornelius, I was having issues booking a lesson in the US. The time zone doesn’t specify if it’s AM or PM PST on your website, and I want to be sure I’ll be available then. I’m looking to learn how to sing like “Paolo Nutini” his singing and speaking voice is very rough and soulful, but it doesn’t effect is range, and I’d like to be able to sing with a similar style and ease. I believe he’s using Edge and on his lower notes what you may call neutral. If you can give his song “Everywhere” a listen and get back to me on the timezone, I’d love to get started soon. Thank you
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 8 месяцев назад
The "a.m." and "p.m." should display for individual time selections, not the timezone. The time zone spans both a.m. and p.m. I just tested it both the website and mobile versions of the website and it seems to be working as far as I can tell. I should mention though that rough vocal effects are not really my forte. I do know the general principles and can give some pointers, but if you're looking for a real expert on rough vocal effects, I suggest looking up Toni Linke. As for me, I can probably help you more with range and the modes than with rough vocal effects.

@@VoiceStudioEastThanks for replying, unfortunately I’m still having the issue. When I go to the calendar and booking it shows me 02:00 all the way up to 11:00 under PST, but no AM or PM next to each even when I tap it and add it to my cart
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 7 месяцев назад
@@10jonchannel that would all be AM then. I'm not sure why this issue is happening.

I was wondering what are your thoughts on Linkin Park song " Waiting For The End" the part where Chester sings " All I wanna do is trade this life for something new" It seems as if he is using Curbing there, but then it could be Edge, I can't figure it out yet. Thank you so much for your great videos❤

Hey there. I (female) go really flat whenever I try Edge, like significantly more than in Neutral. Do you have any tips for this?
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 8 месяцев назад
Are there any other coordinations where this happens? Also, which coordinations can you perform without going flat?

@adrianrodriguez6869

how to achieve this with a lower larynx ?
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 9 месяцев назад
Try a kind of declamatory voice with an imperious quality. Not like calling out, but a very dramatic speaking voice. You can start from a merely bold and sharp speaking voice and make it gradually more dramatic. Future videos will cover this in greater detail.

Interesting! I was wondering, you said that the vowel change happens around B4-D♯5 for men. In the given pitch range (B4, C5, C♯5, D5, D♯5), what determines when the change will take place?
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 9 месяцев назад
It's mainly determined by the mouth opening and larynx height, but other things also play a role, including eg. the vowel used, the amount of twang, and how loudly you're singing.
@DebEternity

@@VoiceStudioEast Ah, that makes sense. Appreciate the clarification!
@giannis_tar

@@VoiceStudioEast so, voice type doesn't matter?
@VoiceStudioEast
@VoiceStudioEast 9 месяцев назад
Voice type largely corresponds to deep differences in technique. For example, baritones typically have a lower tongue position and higher soft palate than tenors and make less use of pharyngeal narrowing compared to tenors. All the things just mentioned will make the change happen lower in pitch, but you can simply raise the larynx, narrow the pharynx, etc if you want to make it happen later instead.
