Killing everyone as per usual. Oh, and a few others join me in battle. Music: • Chivalry 2 Game Soundtrack Video edited and produced by yours truly. #Chivalry #Medieval #TeamObjective #TeamDeathmatch
I wish to rant about Chivalry II for a sec, if that's ok: I am in love with this game. I came in a little sceptical, but this game is just beautiful. First of all: throwing shit, I spend all day throwing shit at people. I throw shit, I kill a guy, I take their shit, repeat. Feints aren't a war crime anymore; I can finally feint without completely ruining someone's day, and when I die to a feint, my blood does NOT boil to the point it bloats my veins and my eyes burst because that's just my fault for playing bad. Thirdly: being completely real now, in Chiv I, if you try to hit a guy and he parries your attack, he can essentially do two things: attack or not attack. Right? I mean, there's three main types of attack, plus he could drag or whatever... but, baaaaaasically it all boils down to "now he can counter attack or do nothing". For contrast, everytime I strike at an enemy in Chiv II, there's like a billion things he can do: he can counter attack, he can choose to do nothing, he can do a special attack, he can do a jab, he can kick me, he can throw his weapon at me, he can do that... uhmm... mirror counter attack thing, where the block indicator turns blue. Plus all the stuff he can do instead of blocking, like all-class-dodging, gambling, rolling, riposting, prevention jabbing, prevention throwing. Like, it's not just muscle memory anymore; I actually gotta THINK about what he's gonna do after I attack and react accordingly. At the same time, the game is more forgiving, and it's also more noob-friendly. You can heal now, get revived, you seem to have more health, and the tutorial is longer and actually shows you everything you can do in the game (I mean, I never saw any in-game tips about reverses. I had to look up that shit online). Lastly, I have a bit of trouble identifying classes in the battlefield now, but I do think they did a great job balancing them: the knight is a great meat-shield, the vanguard is a true glass-cannon, the MAA is the most versatile class and the archer isn't as annoying to fight in melee anymore (if you play archer in duel servers in Chiv I, please stop). Plus, there are subclasses now, each with unique attributes and items. Overall, good stuff. I am glad I stayed true to Chivalry and never bought Mordhau. They took everything that made Chiv good and made it even better. I feel like I'm gonna cry. Bye bye, thx 4 reading.
Honestly, pretty much all of the classes work fine for me. The ones I tend to play the most are the Footman's 1st and 2nd subclass, and the Knight's 1st and 3rd. The weapons I tend to use the most for those classes are Halberd, Sword, War Axe, and Executioner's Axe. Longsword, Messer, Heavy Mace, and Polehammer are weapons I use occasionally too.
The footwork is soo much smoother on pc....the duck button is soo awkward on ps5 u have to hold in r3 so u have to try to duck and aim at the same time its horrible and we cant change keybinds
It's weird that they don't let you rebind on console because I can rebind a controller on pc. The functionality is there they just haven't implemented it for console.
Great job! Though, the way you held the line while outnumbered time and time again; I would say you annihilated or obliterated the enemy, not decimated. Deci = 10
I gotta say, I see ur gameplay and feel like I cam replicate alot more of your success as a very good player on chiv 2 better then mordhau, I really started to improve a mordhau and then hit a ceiling, In chiv 2, I think the actaul baseline mechanics are not only more fair but wayyy more noob friendly, being able to hold block and use timing as a weapon and not as a crutch feels so much better. Really awesome gameplay! keep up with this amazing content.
That's a huge benefit Chiv2 has over the other games. You don't need to put in hundreds of hours to learn crazy drags/accels to even begin to be able to compete with high level players. Attack manipulation is still relevant in Chivalry 2, it's just not the entire game.
Nice plays, what's your opinion on the patch? I really love the game but I feel like we went backwards with the patch, active parry just not working properly people blocking when you're behind them and so many more janky things. Are these recent vids from before the patch?
Pretty much all of my videos will be from before the patch because I have so much footage I still need to use. However, a lot of these issues that people are noticing since the patch have always been a problem. I do think that the patch didn't really fix much at all and in some cases made things worse.
4:05 are these AI? They have generic names and also they look slightly different. I don't think I've seen a current gamemode that mixes AI with players
Usually on the 64 player servers if there aren't enough players, they'll pad out the numbers with a few bots so it doesn't get to sparse. Once more players come those bots are removed
i have bought this game because of how well Trix played and shown how fun this game can be now i just cringe whenever Trix misses an opportunity to kick to break block or shoving ,even dragging a special around someone's block...bruh
A lot of the time those moves are incredibly unreliable and get you killed especially in 1vX or team fight situations. Even in 1v1s if your opponent is using a faster weapon they can attack into some of your jabs, attack into your special, or even just drop their block/turn to the side when they see you start your kick which allows them to get a free hit on you. If you're fighting incredibly unskilled opponents these moves can speed things up a little bit. There are situations where they are the most optimal option but you can hardly go wrong with regular light/heavy attacks especially since the counter-play involved is far more reliable and predictable. If you're just turning off your brain and killing people in team objective then it's perfect. I think kicks need to be faster in order for them to fulfill their role as a counter to blocks, because right now they're just a move you use against newbies.
Today I was playing like this and got kicked for being a "bot farmer" on a server with no bots lol I guess my team was mad that I was hogging all the kills.
Haven't played it much but they haven't fixed any of the major problems yet unfortunately. In some ways the game was worse because of matchmaking and server issues but they may have resolved it by now.
It still matters just as much as the other games, especially at high levels of play, but it's a far less obvious part of the meta at lower skill levels.
Why do they just dont call it "Two-Hand Medieval Fighting simulator" right away? Same thing with Mordhau, everyone uses 2 hand and there is no way to keep up with those, is not balanced...
I mean the bulk of the weapons are 2h. And theres definitely a good chunk of people that run around with short sword and maces. 1h absolutely destroys if you can use them properly
A lot of the one handed weapons in Chivalry 2 are incredibly strong right now purely because of how fast they are. The two handed weapons are still decent but I find most of the time it's hard to get initiative, especially in 1vX scenarios, because if my opponent has a faster weapon then they can just keep attacking into me without much thought.
I'd be a lot more impressed if you weren't a 2H knight heavy attacking with LMB non-stop. This game is great, but that meta is too easy to lead the scoreboard with
You have to make a video with the theme of the Princess Bride It will be a duel between Inigo Montoya and the Westley You must make the costumes replicate the film You must even copy the script or simply dub it over the video You will do this
