Great job Jeff fix it right though with all new wiring and Jeff that receiver dryer needs replacing its beat as hell but Jeff again I am not sure about replacing unit. But as an option that old school carrier unit sounds like a good canadate for the r 458a blueon treatment test but I don't know if you use the blueon app or not but I would look up if it would need the pressure switch changes or not or a conversion to an adjustable txv. Remember Jeff with the phaseout and the crap that's coming with 410a those old school units are like gold and of anything that unit fan cover needs replacing too. And Jeff your Comercial units that were r 22 units need to be tested with blueon too but you might also want to start carrying mo 99 on your truck too as a temporary fix to get you out of a bind. Anyway great video but I would hold off on selling new units unless obsoletely necesarry especially with any r 22 system. Just repair and convert to blueon or mo 99 and evacuate and vacaum and replace pressure switches and do adjustable txvs that's the best way right now especially if you are going to test and use blueon.

Out in CA, the thermostat wiring is always placed in some type of flex, usually 3/8" metal flex..

What you did was fine. IMO, I would just leave it as is and if they get a new system put in, then run a new wire.
